SOLVED. YA Book Inolving Sacrifices to Gain Popularity [s]

The book involved an unpopular girl who was chosen by the popular group to join them. They taped her acting stupid while flirting with boys (I believe at the beach or near some water because I think she was wearing a swimsuit at the time). They ended up being witches who stole people's trinkets and from that they were able to absorb their popularity. The girl who became popular took her best friend's barrette I believe at some point.
After some mysteries with cats, it turned out there was a sacrifice going on with them that gave the girls this power and turned out they were, in fact, led by the cheer coach to do this. She turned out to be the leader of their coven.

I think the book cover is black with a necklace or locket or something, but I honestly can't remember. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!
