SOLVED. Children’s book: family stories about a boy called Wallace

I read this in the 1980s.
It was a collection of separate stories, all about a boy called Wallace. He had a little brother (possibly called Henry). It seemed very English.

Some stories I remember:
- they moved house
- he got lost in a shop, but was identified because his grandma had bought him a sweater with his name on
- they cleaned the windows, after breathing on them and drawing pictures.
