Anne Perry also has a series set during WWI -- I just dug the first book, No Graves as Yet, out of Mount TBR.

This is a good example of why I do not add any book to my "to read" shelf unless I actually have the book. I just skimmed through that shelf in search of yellow covers, that weren't out of order in series I am reading (I hate reading out of order). Came up with about a dozen books. Figures none of them would fit the "summer" challenge as well. :-\

 Jacqueline Winspear's Maisie Dobbs series also fits the WWI challenge. Maisie was a nurse during WWI.

     My plan for August. I'm not sure if Judith is technically a senior citizen in Mary Daheim's books but she always seems like a senior citizen to me and she is older.
