Jean | 1658 comments You guys were really no help with my deciding......because I still haven't decided. I'm thinking All Your Perfects because it will be a standalone (and it's CoHo) and I know once I read Nine Minutes, I'll have to continue the series. Same thing with Gabriel's Inferno.

God Shaped Hole just scares me.....lol!

Leslie | 2430 comments All Your Perfects is awesome and will be a fast read.

God Shaped Hole and whatever that other book the randomizer chose.

I've already read God Shaped Hole -- loved it. So we're good there! Just started Balance ...so far I like it too!

God Shaped Hole is so worth it tho....

message 59: by Michele (new)

Michele (guilliem) | 2131 comments So, I finished Balance and am over halfway through Execution. These are definitely some taboo reading ...and there have been a few things that have made me flat out livid! Great rec for me though...thanks y’all.

Michele, I think you've gotta tick through your pick for me list, lol! Some of these were still listed! But yes, yes, yes! Nay, she loves the taboo like we do!

message 61: by Michele (new)

Michele (guilliem) | 2131 comments Gray, thanks for the reminder on the admin end. My PFM shelf read books are removed - now I just need to add a few others in... and yes, I’m a taboo girl. Looks like there are two more slated in the Off Balance series...is Execution gonna leave me with a cliffy???

Yep, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, Michele... But big cliffy!

message 63: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) And the next one was supposed to come out next month, but it's been changed to November! UGH!

message 64: by Michele (new)

Michele (guilliem) | 2131 comments No!!!! Shoot! Not November! And I see there’s a 4th one due out next year too - crap! That’s gonna make me crazy!!!

message 65: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Michele--if you enjoy the taboo of these, you need to read Lessons in Corruption and Welcome to the Dark Side from the Fallen Men series. I LOVED those books, and the 3rd one is coming out in 2 weeks!

I'm looking for something else like Fallen Men and Off Balance to read right now. If anyone has any suggestions...

message 66: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) I'm changing my pick. Although I love the fae, I'm not clearly not in a fantasy mood, so instead of reading Lord of Fading Lands, I'm going to read Hydraulic Level Five (Hydraulic, #1) by Sarah Latchaw Hydraulic Level Five, which I've wanted to read since 2013 and somehow missed the first time I looked at Michele's list.

message 67: by Michele (new)

Michele (guilliem) | 2131 comments Renee - I really liked Hydraulic!!! I had to work harder to get thru Lord of the Fading Lands - in the end I really liked it (obviously it’s in my faves) but you definitely have to be in the right mood.

message 68: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Yeah, I tend to enjoy the PnR fae books more than the fantasy fae books, especially right now. Five years ago, I would have been much more apt to get into these, but now, I don't know if I can do it.

message 69: by Michele (new)

Michele (guilliem) | 2131 comments Grey & Renee, I just finished Execution!!! Holy crap! I mean so much happened in the last 15% of the book and such a BIG Cliffy! I’m dying here! But sooo freaking good! Wow!

message 70: by Melinda (new)

Melinda Ruyten | 1027 comments Nay, I love your new icon thingy, the one that says Survivor. It says it all. Doesn’t it? Just great.

message 71: by Grey (new)

Grey | 2385 comments Mod
Michele, yep... I felt the same way. I rated Balance a 4.5... But I threw my 5 flag for Execution, which, I think, if I'm counting right, I've only given 4 times this year.

message 72: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Yay, Michele (and Grey)! I'm so glad I'm finally able to share my love for Kova with some more people!

Melinda--thanks! The old one I had with the red heart also said "Survivor" on it, but I found this one with the green ribbon in honor or organ donation, so I had to use it!

Nay (4ukcats) I finished Hydraulic Level Five and give it 3 stars. Even though it wasn't really my cuppa (I really struggled with the writing during the first half of it), I thought the 2nd half of it was great and would make me want to keep reading, but it was just too much of a slow burn for me (I don't necessarily mean slow burn romance, I mean slow burn everything).

Ok, I updated the pretty with what I could find... please let me know if you've read your books so I can update the list!

The book that was chosen from all of our suggestions and plucked from the magical randomizer for her to read is... Balance (Off Balance, #1) by Lucia Franco Balance by Lucia Franco! Michele rated it 4 stars and then read book 2, Execution which she rated as 5 stars!

Jean picked...
