What a great list! I've been trying to read more history myself. It's funny that I disliked history in high school, but now it fascinates me!

I have hit a small wall. Time to nap. I plan tl sleep for about 2 hours so I do not get too deep into sleep.

Thanks Elyse and Ann :-) I ended up sleeping 3 hours. I really needed it so it seems.
Good idea Elyse. I have used audiobooks fir the same reason.

With only 3 hours left to the Readathon, I will now return to the reading I left off to participate. Now I read The Genius of Birds. Very Accessible. Not hard concentration for me today.

We did it!🌻🌻🌻"
We certainly did! Congrats and hope to see you next time, Cynda!
Ann A wrote: "I just added The Genius of Birds to my TBR. Sigh...the list is totally out of control. Congrats on a great Readathon!"
Haha my TBR too. Let me know if you should read Genius of Birds so I can read your comments/review.

I have a working TBR but an approaching storm is limiting my ability to post. So I will post here after the storm passes tomorrow.
I much easier set of books this time. Whew. . . .

The weak storm here may be a welcome relief for our slight drought. I re-potted my aloe vera so she can better enjoy the rain that is coming.

44 minutes from end. I am done for this time. Have enjoyed it. Looking forward to everyone's wrap up in the ciming days. As soon as I wrap up, I will be looking forward to the next Dewey's, maybe a reverse between the regular bi-annuals.
I feel I have been more productive with the stack of shorter works. I think this will work for me for the foreseeable future.
See you all back here at Dewey's in the coming days. 🌸🌸🌸

I agree about the strategy of having shorter books. It's nice to actually finish a few.
Glad you had an enjoyable Readathon. Can't wait for the next one!
Closing Survey
1. How well would you assess your reading overall?
I could read more if I were to nap more often. I have learned that I can come back in the following days to add quotes, that I can use my time for wisely that way. I did find the shorter works effective, providing a sense of accomplishment. While collections of plays work well for me and graphic selections work well for me, collections of short stories may not. I want to savour too many short stories, consider and ponder too much.
2. Did yiu have a strategy, and if so, did you stick to it? I read a stack of short works that seems to overall be my key to success.
3. What was your favorite snack? Pirouline Creme filled Wafer, the chocolate hazelnut variety.
4. Wanna volunteer for our next event. Absolutely Yes.

I ended up sleeping for 5 hours and came back for the last hour. My intention was to come back for the last 3 hours but I turned my alarm off when it went off at 5am. lol. Sleep is too good! Can't wait for April!

I do think [book:We Should All Be Feminists should be read more :-) Does "RAT" mean "readathon"? Anyway that more people read this short small book will in many ways be good. I will be reading more of Adiche's books too. Have you seen her TEDx talk by the same title? I will rewatch soon, maybe tonight.

I’ll check our her ted talk. Would love to hear her voice! I find it fascinating that my high school senior is reading her “Americanah” book in his world literature class. Agree that everyone would benefit by reading her short book!

Thanks for sharing your experience with me Elyse. We readers depend on our reading friends to help us with reading selections. . . .
Now I am rethinking. Maybe another audiobook Evangeline of the Bayou by Jan Eldredge. I will update my list soon.

Other people have loved it so you should give it a try! But if it's bogging you down, definitely toss it aside (figuratively! No throwing books!) and find something easier to read. :) I've never heard of Evangeline of the Bayou but it looks cute and the author is compared to Kate DiCamillo who is great!
Elyse not to worry :-) I am still interested in the Hazel Wood book, but maybe not for the readathon. I still have the audiobook marked on library eservices as future selection option. It is good, and we are good.
