Ch 11 (25%) - (view spoiler)[ I am glad that Ryn and Tyrrik are finally together, it's so much better than the back and forth in the first couple of books. However, I am concerned that her dad can just control her without any effort. Is it because they need to "seal" the mate bond? (hide spoiler)]
Ch 21(50%) - (view spoiler)[ I'm still worried that Draedyn can still reach her mind even though she and Tyrrik are fully mated. I thought it would make him her alpha or something. I think it is a bad sign that this is still a weakness of hers. (hide spoiler)]

52% (view spoiler)[So Ryn is a Phaetyn. Well, obviously if she is growing a garden in her prison cell. Though I think that maybe she is half Phaetyn and half Drae. Why else would she be able to communicate with Irrik through thoughts? Obviously no one else can. It seems odd. Though I wonder about what Ryn was speculating about regarding her mother. Was her mother Phaetyn? If she killed herself with a blade covered in Phaetyn blood which would only be fatal to Drae then what does that mean?

I think that Irrik is Tyr. Ty mentioned that only three people had keys to their part of the prison. How would Tyr be getting in to help her if that was the case? If only Irrik, Irdelron, and Jotun had the keys then something doesn't add up. It makes the most sense. Though I don't know why Irrik would want to help Ryn other than Ryn's mother making him promise to protect her. I don't know what other allegiance he would have to her. Unless she really does have Drae blood. Especially since it was mentioned that the Phaetyn and Drae were enemies?

I still want to know why her blood doesn't affect Irrick but it definitely affected Jotun. The Druman thing was sick. I feel bad for Irrick being forced to make half Drae babies.

I'm thinking that my initial assumption is right and Ryn is half Phaetyn and half Drae. It would explain her bumps and itching. And why Irrick can communicate with her through thoughts. Though I don't know how it would be possible since Drae and Phaetyn are enemies and Phaetyn blood kills Drae. (hide spoiler)]

Finished (view spoiler)[Well, my assumptions were right about Irrick being Tyr. I honestly don't blame Ryn for being so angry. I feel like it would have been simpler for him to just be honest about who he was. I would feel betrayed if I fell in love with someone and found out that he wasn't who I thought he was. It would feel very intimate. It was her heart that was betrayed, not just her trust. Add to the fact that her own mother lied to her for her entire life and I would feel obliterated.

I am glad that Ryn took that chance to try and kill the king. And that Irrick was able to finish the job. I assumed that Irrick wouldn't be able to kill her because they were mates, not simply because she was Drae.

I was sad that her friend died like that in front of her, but I am glad that Dyter is okay. She needs him. (hide spoiler)]

24% (view spoiler)[The Phaetyn prince is an interesting fellow. And Tyrrick's jealousy of him is kind of amusing.

I still don't blame Ryn for ignoring Tyrrick at the beginning of the book. I would have done the same. Though I can see the deeper parts of him coming through. He shouldn't have deceived her with the whole Tyr thing in the first book, but he obviously cares about her. They are clearly mates. Anyone can see that from a mile away. Except for Ryn, I suppose. Tyrrick taking care of Ryn during her change was kind of great. Their banter makes me smile.

I can't believe that Ryn's father is the emperor. How is that even possible if both of her parents were Drae? If she is part Phaetyn then where in the world did she get her Phaetyn blood?

I am wondering if the telepathy only works with mates? She asked him if all Drae can do it and he said no, but in a strange way. Like he wasn't telling the entire truth. And I almost bet that it is the same with the nectar. I bet only mates can make it for each other. (hide spoiler)]

52% (view spoiler)[Tyrrick's injury is pretty bad. Ryn's healing powers seem impressive. By the way Kamoi reacted, I would venture that healing a Drae that had been poisoned with Phaetyn blood shouldn't be possible.

I'm curious about Ryn's ancestral powers. I'm glad that we know how Ryn can even have Phaetyn powers since her parents are both Drae. That was driving me crazy.

I don't like the Phaetyn king and queen. And judging by the memories that Ryn got from the trees, I'd say that is warranted. Though I'm not sure about Kamoi and his loyalties. I honestly don't think that he is a bad guy or that he even knows about what his parents have done. And I think that he may genuinely like Ryn romantically. Though it was strange for his sister to ask Ryn if she was going to be his mate. (hide spoiler)]

77% (view spoiler)[Wow, I was not expecting the king and queen's attack on the rebels. Nor that they were secretly draining Tyrrick's blood to put on the weapons. I'm rather glad that Ryn ended them. I'm even more glad that Kamoi didn't turn out to be a bad guy. I was a little surprised that his sister started the rebellion and that she wanted to help Ryn.

So Ryn and Tyrrick are mates. But I guess we all knew that. Now if only Ryn will get over her doubts and past heartache and accept it. I would definitely feel conflicted. Falling in love with someone that deceived you, even if for good reasons, is still pretty awful. (hide spoiler)]

Ryn finally accepts the mating bond. Yay! But there is still so much sexual tension! I just adore Tyrrick. I love the way he is with Ryn and the things that he does for her. (hide spoiler)]

I keep wondering if Kamoi will continue to be a problem for Ryn. He likes her, but he is a little forceful. And now she has accepted the mating bond with Tyrrick.

Draedyn shows up in the Phaetyn city and takes control of Ryn's mind and body. I am surprised that he didn't take her with him when he took Kalani and Kamoi. (hide spoiler)]

They want to use Azule's ships to bring back all of the soldiers that the emperor has sent overseas to war. Ryn was upset that Dyter didn't tell her this sooner. I guess I would be too. I wish that we knew more about what war the emperor was fighting overseas. There aren't any other nations or land masses on the map. I don't like not having any information about it.

Ryn and Tyrrick finally became intimate and sealed their mating bond. I was a little disappointed though. I expected something more than the fade to black type of scene that we got.

Ryn has been practicing her Phaetyn shield. The emperor was able to get into her mind while she slept and she attacked Tyrrick. He was able to overpower her though. (hide spoiler)]
