Well that doesn't seem fair, how are we to judge a book by it's cover if it doesn't go with the story ;) That'll teach me to just make my choice by title alone and not do any research. Now I'm intrigued and will be adding the first to my TBR.

Lol, the series titles and graphics aren't very telling, are they?

Gary, I'm really looking forward to getting back to the series. It's been so long since I read the first.

message 72: by Linda C (new)

Linda C (libladynylindac) A comment on a questionable trend I've noticed lately: covers of
cozy mysteries involving food where a pet (cat or dog) is leaning into/sitting next to/curled on a table where the food is.
This especially seems inappropriate when the MC is a chef or baker.
I have no objection to a home scene with food and a pet curled in a chair or on the floor. But when it looks like a shop or catered event and the cat/dog is over the food - not a good idea
Sample:
Pecan Pies and Homicides (A Charmed Pie Shoppe Mystery, #3) by Ellery Adams Peach Pies and Alibis (A Charmed Pie Shoppe Mystery, #2) by Ellery Adams Bewitched, Bothered, and Biscotti (A Magical Bakery Mystery, #2) by Bailey Cates Death by the Dozen (Cupcake Bakery Mystery, #3) by Jenn McKinlay Dead Men Don't Eat Cookies (Cookie Cutter Shop Mystery, #6) by Virginia Lowell

I downloaded on my Nook this morning Seeing Dead and A Necessary Death in which is a short story. I am halfway thru Relatively Dead and probably finish in couple of hours. I cannot put it down.

Since Friday I went to my used bookstore and bought a lot of books some old authors and some new authors. I have been sleeping less cause I pick up a book I have to finish it regardless if I need sleep or not.

I have read her Orchard series but I noticed a country cork series on my Nook that I believe I have never read yet. Also I have read the Museum Mystery series that were very good.
I am not having insomnia, I just get interested in a book and I do not want to put it down until I am finish. Something I inherited from my aunt. She loved to read too. She would stay up to 4 am in the morning before she went to sleep.

message 79: by Jennifer (last edited Jul 29, 2018 01:33PM) (new)

Jennifer (jhaltenburger) | 648 comments I suffer from the same “lack of sleep” for the same reason! I read the museum series a couple of months ago and really liked it too. I’ve read one county cork, also good, and she just published a first-in-series called Murder at the Mansion that I read this month. She seems incapable of writing a bad book!

They were good reads. The little girl scouts are really fun and funny; their thirst for things combat related are something else!
