Cass presses herself close to Haileys side as they walked away from the playground and the others around there. She looked up at Hailey once they were far enough away. “I think I got some good stuff..” she said faintly, wanting to look once they were out of the open.

Hailey looked down at her when she said that and nodded, smiling softly.
"Good, we'll check it out when we get behind some place. Come on, let's see what this place has," she said, heading over to a restaurant that looked mostly like it was a Mexican sorta place. She just hoped most of what they found was gonna be packaged in some what.

Cass followed her back into the area behind the building. She let Hailey look for food as she took stuff out of her pockets. She organized the money carefully, before looking st the thick bundle of cards. “These were cool looking. Are they worth anything?” Cass asked faintly. The stack contained all sorts of gift cards to various places and was pretty thick. She flipped the stack over, leaving them tied together. “There’s a money amount written on this one..”

Hailey did start looking through the dumpster, finding anything that was prepackages like sandwiches, salads, different desserts, all the good stuff. Once she figured that was good enough, she opened up her backpack and started putting the stuff inside, looking over at Cass.
"Those are gift cards I think. Like, you take them to whatever place is written on it and some money gets taken off of whatever you owe. I think anyways," she said, just remembering stuff from shows she had watched.

Cass took the cards and the bit of cash she’d gotten and put them in Hailey’s backpack. “I’ll count them all when we get back to the cave?” She offered. It didn’t seem like it would be too hard, the cards had writing on them that could hopefully help decipher them. She made sure she’d put all the stuff from her pockets into the backpack, not wanting to forget and lose something.

"Yeah, that works sweetie," Hailey replied to her, letting her get the stuff into her backpack. She put it on, it being a bit heavier now with all the stuff in it, but it wasn't bad."Ready to go back then?"

Cass nodded slightly. “Yeah. It’s gonna get dark soon..” She Agreed. She walked back through the town with Hailey to get back to the forest so they could get back to the cave.

Once hidden in the woods, Hailey took off the hoodie she put on and opened her wings, taking a running start before getting into the air. It didn't take long to get back to the cave with everyone else, seeing it almost like when she left. Hunt still asleep, Nick and Faye making small conversation, Victor trying to make a rock wall out of small pebbles and a bunch of firewood in the back.
"We found dinner. Got some money too," Hailey said, going over to Hunt and poking his face softly,"Wake up. We got fuel."

Hunt flinched as he woke, turning onto his back and groaning as he did so.
"Oh this sucks, I'm sore as hell," he complained, blinking a few times to wake up, looking around the cave.

Cass ran up and followed after her, taking off. She followed Hailey back to the cave and landed right before she did. She closed her wings and came further into the cave.

Nick looked them over when they came back, making sure they were alright. “Good job..” He said quietly. He ran a hand through his hair and glanced over at Hunt when he woke up. “I’ve got some old pain meds if you want them. They might help.” He offered.

Faye stayed quiet, looking them over. “I can take the cash and get it counted up if you want.” She offered softly, shrugging.

"Nah, if they're old, they might be expired. Plus it's not like they'll stay in my system for long," Hunt said, groaning a bit as he managed to sit up and breathed a bit,"It's just cause I was in one position for too long. I'll be alright in a bit."

"Yeah, thanks Faye," Hailey said to her, taking the money and gift cards out and handed it to her. She also set out everything she managed to get, letting everyone choose what they wanted. She just snagged one of the sandwiches and 2 granola bars out of a box that she found there. Turns out there was a small grocery store next to the restaurant and they used the same dumpster.

Victor looked over when the food was laid out and he moved closer, actually sitting by Nick this time, which was rare. He noticed a burrito that he thought he would like and took it, offering it to Nick with a small tilt of his head.

Cass sat down on the other side of victor. She took one of the other small burritos, knowing it’d be plenty for her.

Faye took the gift cards and cash from Hailey. She took a bit of the food and sat down away from the others so she could count the cash and cards. She began sorting the cash out and then the cards.

Nick ran a hand through his hair and nodded. “True. We should try and snag some more stuff like that eventually.” He commented. He glanced at victor and shook his head. “No thanks. You guys eat first..” he said softly. It was a habit of his to make sure everyone else ate and then he would, just to make sure they didn’t go hungry or get weak.

Victor frowned at his words and set the burrito down in front of him anyways. He himself reached for one of the bigger salads that had and opened it, beginning to eat.
"It's....actually not that bad," he said, expecting it to taste gross.

"They're still good. Just not good enough to sell," Hailey replied as she dug into her own sandwich, tasting mayo, which she hated, but she was too hungry to care right now.

"Which means great things for us," Hunt said, grabbing a sandwich and a burrito, since they really had plenty and started digging in, looking around,"I see you guys were busy while I was taking my dirt nap." He motioned to all the firewood.

"Yeah, figured we'd stock up so you guys hopefully wouldn't have to," Hailey replied around a mouthful of food, reaching over for her water and taking a sip.

Cass ate her own food, sitting by Faye and helping her go through the gift cards. She tried to help sort them by what place they seemed to be from. “Wow. There’s a lot.” She commented softly.

Faye nodded slightly. “Yeah. There is. Hopefully most of them have some money on them and then we can use that if we really need to at some point.” She agreed.

Nick thanked victor when he still set the burrito in front of him. He drank a bit of his water. “We wanted to make it so Faye, Cass and Victor won’t have to leave at all while we’re gone. It’s safer that way..” he said softly. He opened up the burrito after a few, glancing outside.

"Makes sense," Hunt replied to the both of them, taking another large bite of food afterwards and sighing a bit,"So, when are we leaving?"

Hailey looked over at Nick when Hunt asked that, locking eyes with him before looking back at Hunt.
"That depends. You seem like you're really sore," she said.

"I told you, it's just cause I was asleep for so long. Let me walk around a bit, loosen up my muscles and I'll be fine," Hunt said after he swallowed, frowning,"We're not gonna hold off doing this just for me. I'm fine."

Faye and cass talked softly with each other and kept going through the cards.

Nick shrugged. “We’re not going till the middle of the night at least. I’m going back to the house. Gonna get all the food and important stuff out that I can in a few trips. That way it’s all here with us and not there where they can get it.” He answered softly. “Then we can probably go after that..”

"Alright. So I'll catch some more sleep I suppose while you're doing that and then we go. Cool, sounds like a plan," Hunt said with a thumbs up, already done with his burrito and moving onto his sandwich.

"You're like a vacuum," Hailey said to him with a chuckle, throwing a granola bar over at him and leaning against the cave wall a bit. She was tired, she had to admit that. But hopefully getting the food in her would wake her up a little bit more. She just wished she had some soda or something, anything with sugar in it to get her more awake.

Nick nodded and started eating his burrito. “Is there anything specific you want me to try and get from the house if I have time?” He asked them all, gonna try and get them all if he could.

Cass glanced over. “Colors if possible? And the coloring books?” She asked, biting her lip. She didn’t want him to risk himself for stuff for them that wasn’t essential but it’d be nice to have something to do.

Faye shrugged and didn’t answer him right away. “Get the blanket off of zar’s bed. And then take it with you. It’ll help her when you get her out. Just to provide some comfort..” she advised after a moment.

Hunt looked at him when he asked that, not quite sure, but then he remembered his Game Boy would need to be charged eventually....and he didn't have a plug in a cave. Frowning a bit, he thought for a second.
"Get me Hailey's crossword puzzle books that she loves so much cause she's a grandma," he said.

"Hey those thing are gonna be great entertainment when you're sitting here melting in boredom," Hailey said, sticking her tongue out and looking at Nick,"Grab me the box in my room if you can. It has my knives and brass knuckles in it. We might need those."

Nick nodded slightly, listening to them. “Okay. So colors/coloring books, zar’s blanket, box of weapons, crosswords, and the big tote that’s half full of legos?” He guessed, glancing at victor. He thought through it mentally, trying to figure out the best way to bring as much of it back at possible in one trip. He glanced at Hailey. “I’m thinking im gonna make as many quick trips back and forth from the house but instead of flying here each time where I can be followed, drop everything off in the forest first? And then Hailey or Faye, you two can come meet me down there to bring it up here?” He suggested.

Victor looked up when his legos were mentioned and he smiled, nodding a bit. He scooted closer to Nick, sorta his way of silently saying thank you before listening.

Hailey nodded, biting her nails and thinking.
"I would suggest taking the tarp to make things easier on you, but it would probably be too loud," she said, sighing a bit,"I think you should take Victor with you as an extra set of hands. He's the only other one outta us that had dark enough wings. and if we put a black hoodie on him, he'd be covered."

Nick shrugged. “It’s gonna be a little loud no matter what.” He said softly. “The legos and stuff might be a bit loud too but I can stuff blankets in the top or clothes or something and make it quieter..” he commented, still thinking about it. “Victor can definitely help me out at the house but I still think dropping it off at the forest first will help..”

"Still, that tarp is hella loud," Hailey said, taking her hair out of it's pony tail and putting the hair tie back on her wrist,"I say just go in with backpacks. And yeah, leave it in the forest, we'll come down and get it. It'll make everything faster."

"Why can't I go with Nick?" Hunt suddenly piped up, looking at Hailey with a frown.

"Because sweetheart, your wings are mostly white. Nick and Victor have the darkest wings out of all of us," Hailey said with a roll of her eyes.

“True. And I’ve got some duffel bags in my room so I can take those and use them.” Nyx Agreed, getting up to empty out his backpack. “And hunt, we need you fully rested and not sore by the time we’re ready to head out.” He added to haileys argument.

Faye finished organizing the gift cards and looked through them, adding up the amounts on each type to figure out how much they had. “Oh. Don’t forget to grab something from ace’s stuff too. I don’t know what he’d want though...”

Hunt frowned as he was put down by Hailey and Nick, mumbling something and taking a large bite of his food. He thought about what Ace would want for a moment, knowing almost right away though.
"Get him his favorite books, there are two he always has on his desk. And the Mario blanket I bought for him for his birthday," he said, chuckling a bit,"God he's such a nerd."

"But he's your nerd," Hailey said, totally pointing out the insane boy crush Hunt had on Ace, wriggling her eyebrows at him.

Hunt gave her the death glare and stuck his tongue out at her before opening up his granola bar after he was done with his sandwich.

Nick nodded slightly. He repeated the list of stuff faintly to himself before glancing to Hailey and then hunt. “Well, He half swings your way Hunt. So you’ve got a chance with him.” He commented softly, remembering Ace talking with him about it once on how he found guys cuter than most all girls. He smiled a bit st the thought and watched hunt for a moment before going back to emptying out his backpack to take with him.

"Can we stop talking about my non existing love life please? At least I don't gawk at him like Hailey does with you," Hunt replied, his shoulder slumping a bit.

Meanwhile Hailey's face lit up red and she was glaring daggers at Hunt.
"Excuse you over there mister, for your information, I do not gawk. I look at everyone in the Flock almost every 20 minutes to make sure we're all good, alright?" she said in defense.

"Uh huh," Hunt said with a grin, obviously enjoying this,"But you look at him most."

"No I do not. If you wanna talk about gawking, what about when I caught you looking at Ace's butt, huh?" Hailey shot back, crossing her arms over her chest.

"Hey! It was for like...2 seconds alright?" Hunt said, but Hailey kept giving him that look,"Alright it was more than 2 seconds, but you....you shush."

Victor listened to them going back and forth and smiled a bit to himself. They were so goofy. It was funny though, just added a little normalcy to whatever was going on with them now.

Nick rolled his eyes as he watched them go back and forth. “Trust me. I know Hailey is watching me whenever I stop paying attention. It’s what she does.” He assured, glancing at her and smiling at how red her face was. “You look like a cherry.” He teased her faintly.

Faye smiled a bit. “Ace does have a nice butt though. You can’t blame hunt for checking it out.” She shrugged at them and bundled the gift cards back together before handing a few to Hailey. “Those ones seem like they’d work anywhere.. take them in case?” She said softly.

Hailey looked at Nick when he said that, her face only getting redder and she couldn't even form words. She just looked at Faye when she gave her the cards, trying to calm down even though her heart was beating about a million times a second in her chest.
"Thanks Faye," she said, looking at them for a moment before putting them in her backpack.

"See, I'm not the only one that thinks that," Hunt said in reference to Ace's butt, taking a bit of his granola bar a moment later, looking towards the entrance of the cave and seeing how dark it was,"What time did you guys say you were going?"

Hailey stood up and went to the entrance, glancing up at the stars.
"It'll be about 10 in an hour and a half. That seemed like a good time," she replied,"It'll probably take Nick and Vic an hour to get everything we need. So around 11:30 we'll head out."

Nick slung his now empty backpack over his shoulders. He glanced at Hailey. “You really need to breathe.” He suggested faintly, noticing how red she still was. He wrapped up the uneaten half of his burrito and set it back by his water bottle. “Anyways though. I’m gonna head out now so I can get a good check over the place before we start getting things..” he said softly. “Vic, you almost ready?”

Faye smiled a bit. “You should tell him that when he gets back.” She suggested softly. “Maybe not right when. But at some point after.” She shrugged at him.

Hailey looked at Nick when he spoke to her and glared a bit. He was so frustrating! She had felt...something about him pretty much since she hit 13 years old. He had the cage next to her. But with him? He didn't seem to be the slightest interested at all, which is why she always tried to keep it hush hush. She cleared her throat and moved back into the cave more to where Cass was and she reached down, stroking her hair a bit.

"Yeah," Victor said, putting on his black hoodie and pulling the hood up to hide his bright blonde hair. That would certainly stand out.

Hunt looked at Faye and smirked a bit. He had a feeling Ace was aware that he liked him and he thought sometimes that maybe his best friend felt the same. But neither of them ever acted upon it.

Nick wouldn’t say anything about it but he was a bit interested in Hailey. But whenever he thought about acting on it, he reminded himself that his priority should be keeping his flock safe, not fawning over some pretty girl who was practically his family. He looked over Vic and nodded before looking back to Hailey. “Once we get everything to the forest or if something happens, I’ll send Vic back up here.” He told her.

Faye smiled. “You should. Cause then maybe we’ll all get to stop watching your secret glances at each other and all that crush-y blech.” She told him, shrugging. She sat back near Cass.

"Yeah, okay," Hailey replied, not quite meeting his eyes and instead looking a little to the right past him,"Be careful please, both of you." Last thing she needed was another two people going missing.

"We will," Victor said with a smile, going to the edge of the cave. He took a deep breath and jumped, opening his wings halfway down and wincing a bit. He swayed a bit for a moment, but he manged to stay up, looking for where Nick was.

"Maybe," Hunt said, looking at Hailey once Nick and Victor were out of the cave,"He likes you you know. I can tell."

Haley looked at him and frowned, shaking her head.
"Yeah right," she replied, trying not to sound so disappointed. God she was acting like such a girl! She needed to stop!

Nick nodded. He jumped off the edge of the cave and opened his wide wings to catch him as he drifted down. He came close to victor, making sure he was alright. “We got this. Essentials on our first trips. Food, blankets, stuff like that. Okay?” He told him softly.


Faye smiled and looked at Hailey. “He totally does. Do we need to list all the reasons we know why? Cause between hunt and I, we’ve got a lot.” She offered.

“You should list them. That’ll be the best way to convince her.” Cass Agreed, smiling and looking up at Hailey.

Victor looked at him when he came down where he was, listening to his words and he nodded as he started off in the direction of the house.
"I just hope they're not close enough to the house to know we're there," he said.

"Oh Jesus, please don't. Just...lets just drop it, alright?" Hailey said with a sigh, running her fingers through her hair,"He doesn't like me, end of story."

“Hopefully not. We’ll work quickly but being quiet is more important. I’m hoping they’re not even around the house anymore but I guess we’ll see..” nick said softly, looking around as they flew.

Faye rolled her eyes. “Except that he does like you. A lot.” She answered, looking over at her.

Victor nodded and didn't say anything else as they headed there, looking around as they flew. Once they got to the house, he landed as silently as he could, trying to listen for anything that might be around.

Hailey glared at the both of them and stood up, brushing off her pants as she started stacking wood and leaves for a fire, grabbing a match and starting it. It was getting dark and chilly.

Nick landed quietly beside him, closing his wings. He listened around them to try and tell if there was anyone else around. Once he was sure it was okay, he quickly went up to the house and headed inside. He went to his room and grabbed the two empty duffel bags he’d left under his bed and went to the kitchen. He started clearing out cabinets.

Nick headed right to the kitchen, getting what he could out of the cabinets and onto the counter before Nick got there, starting to assist him in filling up one of the bags with the food, trying to be as quiet as possible.

Nick set one of the bags beside victor and let him start filling it while he filled up the other one with all the non perishables they had. He grabbed the box of trash bags from under the sink as well, thinking he could use some of them to start getting blankets and stuff.


Faye looked over at Hailey. “We’re not trying to upset you about it. We’re just trying to make you aware that he likes you too. Quite a lot..” she told her softly. “knowing you both, you probably won’t act on it but you should at least know..”

Victor did just that, climbing on the counter tops to get what he couldn't reach. He made sure to be super aware of any noise that was going on around them, just to make sure they were safe there.

"He," Hailey started, but stopped, rubbing her temples a bit and looking over at them,"He doesn't, okay? It's very obvious, to me at least, that he does not. Even if he did, we can't do anything about it. So let's drop it, alright?"

Nick cleaned out a lot of the cabinets down under the counter. Once he’d finished, he went and grabbed one of the blankets and stuffed it on top to help keep the stuff quiet. He then left the kitchen and found victors box tote that was half full of legos. He grabbed the coloring books and markers and stuff and put them inside the tote and then added hailey’s two shoe boxes of weapons on top to fill the box.



Faye rolled her eyes. “it’s obvious that he doesn’t to you because you don’t know what you’d do if he admitted he liked you.” She replied. “we’re just trying to help you out but whatever..” She said, letting it go.

Victor worked until everything they could travel with was packed inside and he climbed off of the counter, watching Nick go back and forth with all this stuff they needed to grab.
"What else?" he whispered to him.

Hailey looked at her and sighed, watching as the fire went up and it got to a steady flame now. She moved away from it a bit, trying to get her mind off of Nick.

Hunt looked between the both of them before clearing his throat. He didn't understand how Hailey couldn't see that Nick liked her, it was very obvious.

Nick closed up the tote and set it by the door with the two duffel bags. Take a trash bag or a few. Go grab blankets and I’ll start getting essential clothes for everyone..” he replied, grabbing a bag to go get and get ace and Zar’s blankets and stuff first.

Faye sighed and looked over at Hunt. “They’ll figure it out someday..” she said softly to him, shrugging slightly.

Victor nodded and did as he was told, putting the blankets her found into the trash bags and trying to save as much space as he could so that he could fit more.

Hunt nodded at her words and moved all of his trash to one side, sighing a bit as he leaned against the cave wall.
"So we're leaving after they come back with all the stuff, right Hailey?" he asked her.

"Yeah, that's the plan," Hailey replied to him, scratching her arm as she sat there,"We might help with unpacking it all since we need to take some food for ourselves too but for the most part, yeah."

Nick put ace’s and haileys books im his backpack along with a few other things that were small and would fit. He then grabbed clothes and blankets, working as quickly as possible.

Faye nodded slightly. “Okay. We can help unpack. It shouldn’t take that long.” She said softly.

It wasn't long before they had packed up everything they needed and Victor looked at the pile, breathing a bit heavier.
"I can probably take 3 or 4 bags of the small stuff," he said to Nick, looking over at him.

"Nah, especially since they're bringing the stuff in a few trips. We can unload that trip while they go back for another one," Hailey replied, glancing over at Cass,"You doing alright over thee little lady?" She was being quiet.

“Just carry what you can. Don’t take too much.” Nick said softly. “We can make multiple trips. We’re pretty safe..” he assured. He went back through the house, making sure they hadn’t missed anything important. He fixed his backpack over his shoulders and stacked on of the duffels on top of the tote, picking it up to make sure he could carry it.

Faye nodded slightly. “Alright. Sounds good..” she agreed, running a hand through her hair. She moved near to the cave entrance to watch for them.

Cass looked up and nodded. “Yeah..” she said softly, sounding a bit tired. She was the only one who hadn’t slept quite yet.

Victor nodded, picking up 3 of them since they were just blankets. It wasn't too bad.
"Can you hand me these when I get in the air? I have to do a running start...," he asked Nick, still not able to just take off.

"You sound sleepy. We'll get you to bed as soon as they come back with the blankets," Hailey told her with a smile, bringing her closer to her and rubbing her back.

Nick nodded. “Sure.” He took the three bags and headed outside. He jumped into the air and flew up a little ways. He waited for victor to get up into the air so he could hand the stuff over.

“I’m okay.” Cass assured. She shifted and leaned back against Hailey, looking around.
