“Letting her go alone is not the best plan! Not when they’re after her specifically!” Nick snapped back at him, jerking away and stumbling slightly before finding his balance again, using his wings to help. He bit his lip, closing his eyes for a moment to try and fight off the wobbliness he felt. He didn’t even notice Hailey return. Faye moved to get up but stopped when she saw Hailey. “Never mind. She’s here. It’s okay.” She said softly, watching Hailey as she flew down to land with them.

"She has good timing at least," Zar replied, ceasing her walking, which was a good thing cause her feet still stung. Hailey saw what was going on with the boys and she sighed, heading over in their direction.
"What's all the fuss about?" she questioned as she came closer, ready for Nick to rip her a new one.
Hunt looked over when Hailey spoke up, sighing and getting his hands off of Nick. The guy would stop struggling now for sure after all.
Faye nodded slightly. She bit her lip and watched. Nick opened his eyes and looked at Hailey when he heard her voice. “Don’t you. Don’t you dare do that again.” He Mumbled. “You know we don’t do stuff alone. You know that. You always have someone nearby as backup.” He told her, his voice quiet and still exhausted. He was struggling to just stay on his feet. “And you don’t sneak off like that. All it would’ve taken would be waking me up so I at least knew you were gone and would know when you should be back.” He muttered, upset but there wasn’t much energy behind it. Nick stayed standing and watching her.

Hailey, for once, didn't try to argue back right away. She just stood there, accepting his words as he said them. She had her reasons for going alone, it was easier that way. And he didn't wake him up cause she knew he wouldn't let her go alone. But she wasn't going to try and explain that to him, she knew it wouldn't get anywhere. So she just took the pills out of the bag, opening the bottle and taking one out, heading towards him."Here, take this and then you need to lay back down," she said.
Nick didn’t take it. “Don’t do that again Hailey.” He mumbled when she came closer. “You know that they’re after you specifically. Just take someone as backup Hailey. Just to the outside of town at least.” He told her, clearly more focused on her safety rather than the fact that he felt like he was gonna pass out again. He watched her, trying to stay steady on his feet. “You’ve gotta promise...” he told her, staying on the subject.

Hailey sighed when he didn't take it, rubbing the top of her nose between her eyes. She knew this wouldn't be easy, Nick was as stubborn as she was sometimes."I know Nick, I know. Okay?" she said, moving the pill towards him again,"Take it, please? You look like you're about to pass out."
Nick shook his head. “No...” he mumbled faintly. “You’ve gotta. You’ve gotta promise Hailey. And you’ve got to stick to it.” He told her faintly, biting his lip. He wobbled like he was gonna fall before he relented and sat down a bit heavily. He tried to stay awake and conscious, looking up st her. He wouldn’t take the meds until she promised. Not caring if it killed him or whatever else happened. He was in charge so it was even more his responsibility to keep them all safe. Hailey included.

Hailey hoped there was a way around this, a way that she wouldn't have to promise that to him. She had tried to do it just then, but Nick hadn't accepted it. Sighing heavily, she ran her fingers through her hair and bent down in front of him when he sat down."Alright...I promise, okay? Now take the pill," she said, offering it to him again.
Nick nodded and took the pill from her. “We can’t get caught again. So we’re leaving in the morning, whether I’m better or not. Understood?” He Mumbled. “And you need to let me or someone check your shoulder. And probably take some medicine too..” he told her slowly, wanting to stay awake but he felt that that wasn’t gonna happen. He rubbed his face and looked around to try and find his water so he could take the pill.

"Okay," Hailey agreed to what he was saying, not in the mood to fight right now. She grabbed a water bottle she had grabbed as well and opened it, handing it to him so he could take his medicine. He was too weak to do much of anything, so she would have Zar take a look at it. The fact that they had both gotten hurt probably wasn't much of a secret anymore now.
Nick took the medicine and swallowed it. “Okay. Want me to check your shoulder? I’ve gotta check my leg anyways.” He Mumbled. He didn’t know how much longer he could stay awake but he’d at least take care of her if she would let him. He could handle his own leg the next time he woke up. His mind was still focused on her rather than himself. He set the water bottle down after finally getting the lid back on it.

"No, I just want you to rest," Hailey said with a shake of her head, taking the water bottle. She got a pill herself and took it then so he could see that she had done it as well. Her's wasn't so bad like his was, but it would be good for her to take them before it got to that point.
“Still gotta take care of my leg. I know it grosses you out and you’ve been on me about it the whole time.” Nick shrugged. He rubbed his face again before leaning over and pulling his bag close. He bit down hard on his lip, trying to focus and keep himself awake. He slowly looked through his bag and got out what he needed.

"Let Zar do that. She knows more about this stuff than either of us do. And you can barely see right now," Hailey said, looking over to Zar and motioning for her to come over,"We need your help."Zar perked up when he was motioned to and looked at Faye.
"Could you help me over there?" she asked.
Nick shrugged. He looked up at Hailey. “What’s your plan for if this gets any worse?” He asked her faintly, wanting to know or work something out with her so there wouldn’t be any having to guess or quickly figure something out. He pulled up his pant leg and stretched his leg out for Zar. Faye nodded and got up. She easily picked up Zar and carried her over to where nick and Hailey were on the other side of the fire.

"It won't," Hailey replied to him, crossing her arms over her chest as she waited for Zar to come over and take care of his leg. She didn't know how bad it was at the moment, she hadn't looked at it after all.Zar held onto her as she was carried, furrowing her eyebrows when she saw a wrap around Nick's leg.
"When did that happen?" she questioned after she was set down next to him.
Nick bit his lip. “Hailey. Please. Think about that.” He said softly. He glanced at Zar. “When we got attacked last. After we had you guys back. I got caught on the leg.” He Mumbled softly. He leaned over and slowly unwrapped it, biting his lip at the pain and how it looked worse. It was very clearly and badly infected, the entirety of his lower leg swollen and red with the wound looking the worst that it had been. Faye gently set Zar down. She frowned at the sight. “And you didn’t think to mention this sooner...” she commented, rolling her eyes.

Hailey didn't reply to that, just looked down when he unwrapped it. It looked awful...Zar raised her eyebrows at what it looked like and sighed heavily, scooting closer so she could get a better look.
"My thoughts exactly. You should have told us," she said, grabbing Nick's bag and searching around until she found the first aid kit,"I'm hoping the pills you just took were antibiotics?"
Nick bit his lip. “I was taking care of it. I cleaned it and kept it wrapped and did everything I could. I can’t help that it kept getting worse. And Yes. I just took antibiotics...” He Mumbled. “I can clean it. You need to check Haileys shoulder. Don’t worry about me. I’ll be fine.” He assured softly.

"Oh I'm worried from what I'm seeing in front of me. This is hella infected Nick," Zar said with a sigh, looking at Hailey,"You too, you should have told us. I'll look at you next." She went to work cleaning Nick's wound, getting into every spoke that she could too that might be a source of where all the infection was coming from. She put a different type of medicine on it than Nick had been and then rewrapped it for him.
Nick sighed. “I’m aware. I’ve been trying..” he muttered. He grimaced and nearly passed out from pain when she touched it. He bit down hard on his lip, trying to keep still and conscious. He kept mostly quiet and closed his eyes as she worked, occasionally cursing under his breath. “Please hurry and just get it done.” He muttered faintly, taking a shaky breath. Faye frowned. “Here Hailey. I can at least look at your shoulder and help Zar with it.” She said softly. “Did you know it was that bad?” She asked faintly so nick wouldn’t hear.

"I am, chill," Zar replied with a soft sigh, doing what she could with it before wrapping it,"You need to change these every 4 to 6 hours and clean it. Keep on taking the antibiotics."Hailey nodded and took off her shirt partway for Faye, since she wasn't wearing a tank top underneath this time.
"Jeez Hailey, way to flash everyone," Hunt teased her.
"Bite me," Hailey said to him, looking at Faye when she asked that,"I knew it was bad, it looks a little worse than before.I tried to let Zar look at it before, but Nick wouldn't let me."
Nick bit his lip. He wasn’t trying to be annoying. It just hurt like hell and made him feel even worse. “Thank you.” He Mumbled faintly to Zar, looking at her. “I’ll keep trying to take care of it.” He assured. He glanced at Hunt when he heard his comment before looking up st Hailey and watching her for a moment. Faye bit her lip and nodded. “Leave it to him to try and be the strongest stubborn one of the group.” She said lightly, trying to make the situation a little bit better. “Sit down near nick and Zar can patch this one up too? It doesn’t look nearly as bad as nick’s. So that’s good.”

"Of course, that's his job isn't it," Hailey said with a grin over at her, nodding and she did sit down near Nick, facing him like how Zar was positioned.Zar looked over when Hailey sat down, moving so she could see it. She needed to move her shirt and bra a little bit down to see all of it, but it didn't really reveal her in any way.
"This one looks much better. Still infected though," she replied, reaching for the stuff. Like with Nick, she thoroughly cleaned it, making sure she got into every spot.
"Ouch," Hailey hissed from the pain, gripping onto her pants. Zar was the best at this though and she knew it hurt cause she was being so thorough with spot they had previously missed.
Faye nodded. “Yep. And it takes quite a lot to beat you.” She teased faintly, smiling at her. She stayed nearby in case Zar needed any help. Nick waited till Zar finished before laying down. He turned his head and watched Hailey when she sat down facing him. He reached and put his hand over hers to give her something to hold when Zar started cleaning her shoulder. His hand, along with the rest of him, felt like he was burning up. Nick watched her quietly. “Thank you..” he mouthed to her.

(( No it's cool, I figured I just wanted to be sure lol ))Hailey chuckled at Faye's words, managing to do so through the pain she was feeling in her shoulder. It was necessary though, she knew that. When she felt Nick touch her, she looked at him, holding onto his hand. Nodding at his words, she waited until Zar was done, which wasn't much longer.
Zar did the same to her that she did with Nick, put some ointment on it and then a bandage.
"There, same for you, change and clean that often and take those pills. Both of you should get something to eat and drink and then go to bed," she instructed.
Faye watched Zar as she cleaned them up, trying to learn so she could hopefully help out if anything else happened in the future. Nick kept his hand on hers, her feeling cold by comparison which felt kinda nice so he just don’t mention it. He waited till Zar finished up with Hailey. “Can I skip those first two things and just go back to sleep?” He Mumbled faintly, struggling to stay awake as it was currently.

"You can skip the first one if you must, but not the second one," Zar replied to him, reaching over for the bag of drinks they had and grabbing him a Gatorade,"Drink some of that and then you can go to sleep. And Hailey." She grabbed one of the sandwiches and a chocolate bar for her as well as a Gatorade."Those are for you.""Yes mother," Hailey said with a smirk, taking them from her. Zar was normally so quiet, unless someone was hurt. Then, well, she was pretty good at orders and telling people what they needed to it. It was a good thing they had someone who knew about medical stuff in the Flock.
“I’m barely conscious as it is. And I thought sleep was the best medicine.” Nick mumbled. He reached and took the Gatorade. He struggled with the cap for a moment before finally getting it open. He sat up slightly and drank a bit before closing it and setting it down. “There. All done.” He Mumbled, laying back down on the ground in the same spot as earlier. He looked around for a moment before closing his eyes. Faye smiled a bit as she listened to Zar. She certainly was the smartest with medical stuff and it was kinda nice to see how Hailey and Nick would both Bend and do whatever she said when it came to their health.

"Good enough for me," Zar said from his actions, smiling a little bit at him though. He needed rest, that was true. So she would let him off the hook for not eating a meal. For now though. But for Hailey, there was no escape."Finish that and then sleep.""Okay okay, I will," Hailey replied, already having taken a bit out of her sandwich, but she took a moment to fix her shirt. Didn't want her breasts hanging out after all. She relaxed a bit as she ate, watching Nick.
Nick listened quietly. He kept his hand on Hailey’s for s moment until she pulled back to grab her food. He stayed nearby though, still wanting an answer to his earlier question. “What are we going to do if it gets worse?” He Mumbled faintly to her. Faye glanced at Zar. “Back over to our spot?” She offered, knowing Hailey would listen and eat her food and sleep. Which just meant that Hunt, ace and herself would probably all take turns to keep watch overnight.

She felt a little bad that Faye needed to drag her everywhere, but at the same time she really enjoyed being in her arms.
“But it might. If it’s already infected my bloodstream then I’m in serious trouble. Which is why we need to know what we’re gonna do.” He Mumbled. “I’m just trying to make sure we’ve got it figured out...’ he added slowly. He kept his eyes closed, biting his lip to keep himself awake for just a little longer. Faye nodded. She picked Zar up and took her back over to their stuff. She set her down gently by her blanket before glancing at Hunt. “Want me to take first watch?” She offered.

"Well we won't need to because it's not gonna get to that point," Hailey replied to him, not accepting that as an option. They would be just fine, they didn't catch it super early with the antibiotics, but it had only been 2 days since he was hurt. No way was it that bad already.Hunt looked at Faye when he offered and shrugged.
"Sure, sounds good to me. Thanks," he said with a smile, laying down on the ground with a heavy sigh. He opened his wings and spread them so they were getting some heat from the fire, enjoying that quite a bit.
“Hailey please. I feel like shit. I just want us to have a plan figured out. Just in case..” nick repeated. “I’ve been sick before. But I haven’t felt this bad in a long time. If ever..” he added quietly, not trying to worry her. He just wanted to be prepared. Faye nodded slightly. “You’re welcome.” She said softly. She looked around, staying near Zar.
Ace was already asleep near Hunt, cass laying with him since it was a bit cold out. She typically would’ve laid with one of the girls but they were all still up by the time she wanted to sleep which was pretty early.

"We'll take care of it, alright?" Hailey told him, sending a glare over her shoulder at him. She didn't wanna talk about that, didn't wanna let it be a possibility. Cause it wasn't."Now go to sleep before I knock you out myself." It was clear from the look on her face and eyes that this conversation was upsetting her though.Hunt smiled seeing Ace, reaching over and putting his hand on his arm.
"Goodnight," he whispered to him despite him already being asleep and he closed his eyes.
Zar saw how everyone was pretty much asleep now or not paying attention. So she took the opportunity to change her shirt and bra, since she felt dirty from all the sweating she had done in them. It didn't take her long after all, plus with Fa, it was a sort of barrier for any wandering eyes, though she was sure there was none.
Nick forced his eyes open, frustrated at how she was blowing it off. He saw the look on her face and stopped though, not wanting to upset her further. “Okay,.. you can lay with me if you want..” he mumbled, wanting her nearby. Faye glanced at Zar when she dug through her bag but then saw the clothes and let her be, figuring she was just gonna change. She glanced over at Hailey and nick, watching them for a moment since they were both still up and talking about something.

"I will in a bit," Hailey replied to him, glad that they were off the topic now. She continued eating though didn't have much of an appetite anymore. She didn't wanna wast the food though so she ate it quickly, washing it down with her drink.Zar scratched the back of her head once she was finished, looking at Faye.
"You're okay with taking first watch?" she asked.
Nick nodded. He bit his lip and closed his eyes. It wasn’t long before he dozed off again, relaxing s bit. Faye glanced st Zar and nodded. “Yeah. Of course. You need to rest too. It’ll help your feet..” she assured. “I’ll stay close though.” She promised her. Faye knee the farthest she may go would be to check on nick and Hailey or wake up Hunt. There wasn’t any need to leave the area.

Zar nodded her head, grabbing her backpack and using it as a pillow. It was warm enough that she didn't need a blanket either so she laid down."Okay. Goodnight Faye. You can wake me up for second watch," she told her.
Hailey ate and drank what she could, setting what she couldn't finish aside. Reaching over for a blanket, she moved closer to Nick so they could both fit under and she laid down, trying to sleep. However, she couldn't at first so she resorted to moving very close to Nick, right next to him in fact. For some reason, that relaxed her much more and she fell asleep easily.
Faye smiled gently. “Goodnight Zar. And okay. I’ll wake you up later.” She assured. She figured that she’d be alright to stay up all night but if she got tired, she’d wake Zar or hunt up to take over instead. She looked over and smiled faintly when she saw Hailey move and lay down with nick, taking hat as a pretty good sign. Nick barely stirred, shifting slightly when he felt the blanket over him but he didn’t wake up. He was still radiating heat through which probably helped Hailey relax and sleep s bit.

(( Of course (: ))Hunt grumbled as he started coming out of his sleep, turning a little bit and his arms managed to wrap around something that he thought may have been Ace. However, when some hair hit him in the face, he cracked his eye open. It was Faye, not Ace. He let out a somewhat girlish yelp and quickly moved back, very awake now.
Zar, who had been keeping watch, saw this go on and she chuckled a bit. That had been pretty funny, the second best thing she had seen all morning. The first best? She turned to look at where Hailey and Nick were, who were very much cuddling now. Somehow in the night, Hailey had managed to turn all the way over so she was practically on top of Nick, her face pretty much buried in her neck. It was cute, very cute.
Ace was already up, having gotten up early in the morning. He was just sitting with Zar, having let Faye take his place near the fire since it was a bit cold. He watched Hunt and tried not to laugh. “Your snuggle buddy is over here hunt.” He teased. Faye was sound asleep. She felt someone move near to her and mumbled something along the lines of ‘5 more minutes’ before going right back into her deeper sleep.
Nick hasn’t woken up at all. He had one arm loosely around Hailey, holding her close to him while they slept. He was still a bit pale and feverish.

Hunt looked over when he heard Ace speak and he groaned, rubbing his tired face before opening his eyes again, them being pretty squinty."She scared the hell outta me," he said, standing up and stretching his arms up and over his head with a yawn.
"Hey you're the one that turned to snuggle with her," Zar pointed out, that earning her the middle finger from the boy. She smiled though and glanced at the two lovebirds, wanting to let them sleep longer, but also knowing they needed to change those bandages and take their pills.
“I mean you could snuggle with her. I think those two win though.” Ace commented, nodding to nick and Hailey. He glanced back to Zar. “Maybe we should get packed up and nearly ready to go and then get them up?” He suggested. “Or do we need to wake them first and see if nick can even fly today?” Faye stirred a bit more at their voices. She opened her eyes and glanced at Hunt since he was closest. “Thanks for waking me up..” she mumbled, unaware that he’d almost ended up cuddling with her.
"We might need to, I don't wanna watch a fight," Zar said as she stood up from her spot and started making her way over to the two boys, however right as she was heading over, a large figure with wings started coming down towards them.
It was Hailey with perfect timing, flying down towards them. She noticed that Nick was awake and sighed.
"Great, time for my lecture," she grumbled, going until made it down and she folded her wings in. She was carrying a small plastic bag in her hands, no doubt with the thing that she had gotten for Nick.
