Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda question

I think there are several differences between the book and the movie, and that seeing the film portrayed on screen made it easier to see Simon's emotions. The breakdown he had in his room in the theater, after he was outed was something that created an intense feeling of emotion by seeing and hearing it, not just reading it.
