Red.babs | 5 comments I know this is a series of books, maybe three in total? The main character lives in a warm climate with his mother. He is a painter and is commissioned to do a portrait of a young lady who is of the nobility (royalty?) they begin to fall in love but before it goes anywhere he suddenly finds out that the father he never knew of was in fact a king of sorts in the north,(although more like a chieftain) His father has died and the son is kidnapped by his fathers people and brought north into a winter climate so that he can now rule. Upon arriving he discovers that his father had a sort of dragon inside of him and it has now been passed on to him. the dragon makes him incredibly powerful but requires human sacrifice.

There is also a storyline simultaneously of a young girl in the northern climate who is a servant in the castle which the MC is brought to. She is ostracized because she is a child of rape by this countries enemies? and there is something to do with Owls in her storyline? she ends up falling in love with the MC because he is kind to her when no one else is.

help!!? I read these books somewhere around 8 to 10 years ago but i've no idea when they were originally published.

thanks!

If you click on "edit" which is after the topic sentence, you can change the folder to 'solved' and also add the book in the "this topic is about" field.

Another thing is to add it to the group's bookshelf.

OR then again--the waiting for a mod works, because in addition to moving this to Solved the book also needs to be shelved. :o)

Both have now been done.
