H | 3 comments My elementary school library had this book so I know it was published before 1999 for sure. It was about as long as a Babysitter's Club book and would have been about the same reading level.

It was about a girl who procrastinates on a big homework assignment and then ends up copying her older brother's (or sister's?) essay from when they were her age. I'm thinking that the book was published in the 80s/early 90s because I think there was a typewriter mentioned. I also vaguely remember it had a very 80s/90s YA book cover that in my memory was a pale yellow background framing a realistic illustration.

Damn, sorry, it's not this one. It was definitely a longer novel type book for older children/young adults and the copying happens at home instead of in class. But thank you! So funny that the theme and the cover match exactly to what I remember.
