It was driving me crazy not knowing. :)
I believe it is a young adult paranormal book.
Its a book about this girl who witnesses her mum being killed by a vampire, at a young age, who drains her powers as he kills her. He tries to kill the girl at the same time, but magic that the mum placed on the daughter prevents him from killing her.
The girl ends up living with her aunt and cousin for a while, going to school as if everything is normal. Then suddenly she spots two mysterious guys hanging around her school so she leaves early and goes home.
I think the vampires find her at home, but the mysterious guys save her an d kidnap her. She is taken to a cabin that is later revealed to belong to her mother. She starts to show signs of powers, and one of the guys is taken with her and the other openly dislikes her. She tries to escape the cabin and uses her earth powers to make a plant grow to attack him. I think the guy she attacks can has air power.
The guy she falls for has a parent who was a guardian angel and he protected her mum before she died. It is forbidden to fall in love with the people you are protecting.
I'm sure the girl and the guy end up getting matching magical tattoos, which let the guardian know when the girl is in trouble. They also have a magic whistle, which only the guardian can hear.
I think that this may be a series of books? And in one of them, she is captured by the vampires and they try to turn her into a vampire but they can't.
Hopefully someone knows what book I am talking about
