I hope you'll come, Ron.
And GWTW is worth staying up for ;-)

No idea. Let Mods reveal BR list for July. If we don't see it there, we can ask then.

Not yet. I'll ask for it...moro....when everyome is awake...

Yay finally going to be getting to North and South. Also since N&S is over 500 pages I'll be able to read it for the Tome Topple readathon so that is an unexpected bonus!!

Yes!!! Seems like there is a lot of interest for N&S so it should be a good one 👍

It's been sitting on my shelves for a very long time and it's about time it should be read.
Just don't set the start date on the 15th or 26th please. I've got big books on those days. :)

(Zaara I checked and you haven't read this book yet and I wanna make up for catch 22)

That is sweet of you Ahdam...but won't you and @Dragonchild go ahead on this one please?

Can't wait to get my McMurphy ratched on :) :) :)

you sure you can do Tolstoy one month and Dostoevsky next? O.O
that too BK?

We can do another Tolstoy before Dostoyevsky if you like. I don't mind:) How about War and Peace???

I read The Idiot earlier this year and I I think my poor heart can take only one FD in 365 days. ;)

Nausea
Dead Souls
For Whom the Bell Tolls
Mrs. Dalloway
The Divine Comedy
The Cherry Orchard
You can pick one or suggest another. I just want some change of weather between all our fantasy books.

I'd like to get to these by march 2019:
Animal farm by george orwell
The day of the triffids by john wyndham

I'm up for all :) Though non of it has the tragedy elements.
Uh-oh this just sounded masochist to me:))))

Great, the threads are already up :)

Preface by the author: I'm not sure your copy als have this, because it seems to depend, a friend's copy don't have it. (The author explain why she wrote the story and how she get the idea). I think it's a nice addition, but I could have lived without it... Actually I would have liked it more when, after reading the story because then I would have known what she's talking about :D
Letter 1-4:Phew, I'm still not completely invested... I was a little confused at first because I wasn't sure who's who and what's going on. It don't know very much of the story, but this is not what I expected... (view spoiler)

I read it recently to support my daughter in her high school English course. Although she struggled a bit to get through it, it really did generate a lot of good questions and conversation around 'what it means to be human' and 'nature vs nuture'.
A fun fact - Percy Bysshe Shelley (Mary Shelley's husband) is on an obscure branch of our family tree (via his first, unhappy, marriage) - how weird is that!

My dear milady Zaara, reading your response, I felt my heart glow with an enthusiasm that transports me to heaven! 😁
That said, you don't need to be sorry, I'm a littte late with my reply too 😅
There's a second preface? Hmmm... I'm listening to this on audio and maybe these two blurred together... Or I maybe only have one?
I like what you said, especially on Byron. I'm sorry to say, I've got no idea who he was... I'm such a philistine, sorry!

How lovely that you read the book together with your daughter, I'm sure it helped her a lot, especially to find the motivation to continue!

Thank you Anni :-)
My daughter is 15 yrs old and I think it's fair to say that she found this book to be quite a challenge! When we started out, she joked that she would be happy to sacrifice her copy to be used as kindling for our wood fire :-)
However, we worked through it together and upon completion she said; (view spoiler)
I was pretty impressed with her understanding (and also relieved that we made it to the finish line :-)

I'm done as well and I really like her conclusion :) I gave the book 3 stars. It wasn't bad at all, but it's just not really my cup of tea I guess...
