D.J. Reid | 19 comments D.H. Thank you for your review of my book. It's not often a review gives me new insights into my own work but yours does, so I'm grateful for it, late or not.

Regarding my own reviews, I've had emails from both Amazon UK and Amazon Community saying my complaint is being investigated by Amazon.com. I'm none the wiser yet as to what happened, but will keep pressing to get my reviews reinstated.

As I already mentioned, DH posted a public comment that I refused to send him the book in a period when I had no access to internet as I was travelling, instead of waiting for me to send it. You know it well from a past message, but again you pretend that you don't know it. As I did not send him the book in time I agreed that he can pass the review, so he has one less to write. It's not for you to comment on that.
And, yes, it's for the forth time in group 183 when you want me blacklisted. It never happened in all forty something groups I participated in the past.

Scott Spotson (scottspotson) Florian, this is what D.H. posted on June 2.

"Back at the start of April, Florian asked me to consider purchasing a copy of his book (to make it a verified review) and, in return, he'd purchase a copy of mine. I politely declined this offer and asked him to email me a copy instead. He never replied. On May 24th, I asked him again. Still... no response.

Looks like he didn't want a review from me unless it was verified."

D.H.'s version is more credible. He did ask you for a copy, and you did not give it to him. Instead, you waived the review.

The authors all join this type of group expecting to work at giving four reviews. To have one member decide unilaterally not to give another reviewer his book is a strange rationale for joining a group. Since the discussion on June 2, it has been more than three weeks, which was plenty of time for you to recover and send D.H. your book.

Authors working with each other to forfeit a review (which D.H. denies happened) is not permissible in this group, and you had three weeks to simply send an email with a free copy, which takes a few minutes. In light of this, I can only conclude that the verified purchase review was so important to you that you didn't want to send your book, and not because of your travels (which ended weeks ago).

D.H. is still willing to review your book (as he stated today), so feel free to send it to him.

D.J. Reid | 19 comments Re my deleted customer reviews.

Got an email from Amazon UK yesterday. "We have reviewed this situation and have restored your reviewing privileges, also restored your reviews to our site. We are sorry for any inconvenience this has caused." That's it. No explanation.

My UK Amazon reviews are all back up (as far as I can tell), but not back up on US Amazon. If I manage to achieve the minimum spend there in the future, I'll try to post my recent ones.
