Steve Pillinger | 49 comments Yes, I do, because I had the same experience. It's only in the last few days that posting to .com has stopped working for us 'outsiders'!

message 52: by Scott (new)

Scott Spotson (scottspotson) As long as you tried, Mark, you've fulfilled your obligation. We can't control how Amazon treats our eligibility.

Maybe offer another book review website? Goodness knows, no one ever posts on Barnes and Noble for reviews of my books... and I miss that. (Warning: years ago, when I last checked, Barnes and Noble required you to type the review from scratch, instead of allowing you to copy and paste onto it... so you might want to start a brand new review there first). There's also Smashwords itself which does have review options. Also iBooks and Kobo.

There are also other Amazon affiliates, like Australia and Germany... if the author lives there, that's a bonus to them. Not sure if Amazon is as strict with the other international sites as it is for the American and British ones.

I'm guessing U.S. reviewers won't be able to post to our home co.uk site. It will be interesting to find out.

Thanks Scott. That's a good call. I'll look into it tomorrow.

Steve Pillinger | 49 comments Actually, a weird thing happened in one of the other groups I belong to. One of our members posted a review on amazon.com, and it was automatically reflected onto the UK site! I'm not talking about that link at the bottom of the page to reviews on amazon.com—I mean the actual review itself appeared on the UK book page, though it was entered on amazon.com.

So maybe we'll get .com reviews, but not vice versa!

I'm afraid I'm having the same problem posting to Amazon.com. Never had this problem in the past. I'll try again later. I hope it's just a temporary glitch. It'll be a real pain for reviewers outside the US if this is permanent, as most authors (including UK) want their reviews on Amazon.com.

message 59: by Steve (new)

Steve Pillinger | 49 comments Thanks, Stacie—I'm glad you enjoyed the language and the maps!

You may find you can't post the review on Amazon UK. Amazon have tightened up their prior purchases policy, and many are finding they can't add a review on an Amazon site other than their 'home' one. I'll be happy if you can get it on one of their sites!

message 60: by Scott (new)

Scott Spotson (scottspotson) It does seem that you can post on any Amazon site where you have at least spent money. I don't remember how much I spent, but I did, for each.

India, US, UK... I spent there in the past to deliver my paperbacks to reviewers. i.e. Goodreads Giveaways. Was able to post on all today. Got confirmations back today.

Tried an Amazon zone where I have never spent money. Netherlands. I was able to type up the review, but when I clicked on post, the error message came up:

Er is iets misgegaan. Dien je recensie opnieuw in.

It means in English,

Something went wrong. Submit your review again.

My conclusion: the current status is:

If you spent money on an Amazon zone, you can post a review there. If you have not, you cannot.

message 61: by Steve (new)

Steve Pillinger | 49 comments That's what we've found in another group I belong to, Scott. I'm sure people will be willing to spend money on other sites where it meets their own needs (as with your paperbacks); but some people won't be able to do that. As you said in an earlier post, we can only do what we can!

You are welcome Steve! I just tried again from my desktop (first time was mobile) but it still isn't allowing me to post the review on Amazon UK. I think you and Scott are correct, it seems Amazon has tightened to only allow reviewing in the zone you've purchased from. -Stacie

Okay, remember, Round One reviews are due Saturday. All of you have made it except for two reviewers, but there's no obligation to post until the date due.

Thanks - I have some time for next few weeks, and I read quite fast :) I am actually reaching out to the other groups to see which ones I can join. I am really enjoying this activity - I get to read awesome new books and I get my book reviewed as well! It is a win win :)

Jaci Miller | 44 comments Hi all, I was just reading about posting to other amazon sites and have in the past and still do, post to U.K., CA, as well as US. I have never had an issue trying to post a review to foreign sites. I have no idea if maybe it is because I review everything, not just books? I shop on Amazon a lot so I review plenty of products, maybe that makes a difference?

I have never purchased anything from the U.K. or CA sites.

I’m almost finished my third book so will post my review soon so will let you know if I have any problems posting to U.K.

Hi Jaci - I never had a problem either until a week ago. So it's a brand new change at Zon. My problem is posting from the UK to the US, so it will be interesting to see if it also affects US to UK posting. Going forward, I'll see about buying some stuff from .com to stay in the game.

message 75: by Steve (new)

Steve Pillinger | 49 comments I've seen quite a lot of this in another review group. Yes, it also affects US to UK—though one person had a weird situation where their US review popped up on the UK site without them doing anything—the whole review, not just a link at the bottom of the page. But that seems to have been a one-off; I haven't heard of it happening again.

message 76: by D.J. (new)

D.J. Reid | 19 comments You're welcome, Jaci. :)

Re posting reviews, the annoying thing is that UK readers can't buy ebooks from Amazon.com. You can buy other stuff but have to be careful how much you order at a time (I think the limit is £15 inc. postage) without incurring customs charges. I'll see if I can order my usual Amazon stuff from US and try to build up to $50. If I can, I'll start posting reviews there again.

Sorry for the delay,

message 79: by Scott (new)

Scott Spotson (scottspotson) Well, Florian, that's a bit of a stretch, and I would suggest you post two reviews by the second round deadline. I'll allow this, but please eventually earn our indulgence.

Thank you for letting us know.

J.B. Trepagnier (jbtrepagnier) I don't have a review for round one. I didn't think Florian had me for round 1

message 85: by Scott (new)

Scott Spotson (scottspotson) Oh you mean no one reviewed you for Round One yet? That may be because people are reviewing out of order... I do it all the time for the reviews I do.

Jaci Miller | 44 comments Here is my third review for The Age or Azmoq. I too ran into the same ZON wall that everyone else did and can't post to the UK site. I can't count how many books I have reviewed on UK zon in the past and am disappointed that they are not allowing it anymore, especially since mine are verified purchases. Bummer.

I posted it also on Amazon U.K., but it hasn't sent a confirmation yet. I know others are having problems posting on an Amazon site other than the one they regularly use, but I've been able to post on Amazon U.K. lately because I spend money there as well. However, not sure how long my privilege will last as I haven't purchased on that site for a while.

message 97: by Scott (new)

Scott Spotson (scottspotson) A reminder that Round Two reviews are to be posted by Saturday.

Florian, your Round One review is still late, and while you had mentioned on April 21 you could post it in two weeks, that particular date had passed by three days ago. Please ensure that you post your two reviews due by this Saturday, otherwise I may have to ask other reviewers to hold off reviewing your books and to delete any reviews already posted of your book in this group.
