This is a story about the bad lives of the Baudelaires that just never stop. It starts with the children in the middle of a bare desert landscape, were they are getting pursued by the police for a crime they didn’t commit. They eventually get in some trouble and have to seek shelter in the unfinished half of a half finished hospital. They decide to get a job in the library of records when the discover the villains (count Olaf and his gang) have decided to start working their as well but in disguises. Eventually the villains and Baudelaires get into a bad situation were the eldest child (violet) gets captured. The children have to go into a disguise so that they can save her from a horrible surgery meant to kill her the get revealed as the children and they all escap from the then burning down hospital.
