message 8: by Aditya (new)

Aditya | 1865 comments I would love to do this with Dennis Lehane, one of those authors who improved with every book, plus he wrote a few different series, a couple of stand-alones, so a lot of variety in his oeuvre.

Oh my goodness, me and my typos. One day I'll learn to proof before I hit "post." I was going to change it but this is too cute.

Hi Gem,
USA Janet here. Your "Focus on the Author Moderators" link didn't work. But it did lead me to the lovely poem by JRR Tolkien! LOL.

Thank you to all who suggested names for our list, I've updated it and the mod team will make an announcement of who our next Focus author will be within the next month or so. Don't hesitate to continue to add to the list.

We wrap up Agatha Christie in mid-September so well likely start our next Focus on project at the beginning of October.

I've removed the link from the op since it was a "help wanted" ad and we've fill the positions we need in order to successfully carry on our project. Thanks for bringing that to my attention ladies.

message 40: by Suzy (new)

Suzy (goodreadscomsuzy_hillard) I'd like to add Rex Stout to the list. I've been rereading his classic Nero Wolfe mysteries set in 1930-1950 New York City. So fun!

This list will remain open for more suggestions. But at this point, only those on the list as of this date will be considered for our next Focus Project. Now it's up to the mods to widdle those names down to a handful that will be put into a poll in the next few days. Thank you to everyone who contributed names of authors for our next project.

The list has been updated and to remove:

Michael Connelly who will be the author of our next Focus Project.

Rhys Bowen since her books are considered Cozy Mysteries and we now have a dedicated Cozy area.

Chris wrote: "I enjoy Rhys Bowen for both of her series: Her Royal Spyness and Molly Murphy."

Jenny is taking nominations in Cozy Corner for Cozie Mystery Series so I submitted her name there.

message 50: by Suzy (new)

Suzy (goodreadscomsuzy_hillard) I just finished Dance Hall of the Dead which prompts me to recommend Tony Hillerman for Focus on the Author.
