So where do I find the "getting to know you" Kick-off questionnaire, etc.? I want to participate... and I understand the book tasks, but where are these other items?

Debra, your read got us our second guess for started before the read-a-thon (6 books total now).

So now we have another team guess available.

Tammy, since it is 96 pages I'm going to count it as a novella. So it will be pages read but not a book task. We're very ahead in guesses so I think we're still in good shape overall. As far as Olive Kitteridge, we're allowed to earn more than one guess with the 'started before read-a-thon' so that is our 7th book for that task.

Edie, if you click the 'Read-a-Thons' link at the top of this page then you will be taken to the general folder. You should be able to see them there.

message 115: by Tammy (last edited Mar 26, 2018 09:47PM) (new)

Tammy | 704 comments Finished book #2 (doesn't include novellas completed over weekend or the book started before the challenge) We by Yevgeny Zamyatin. It could be classified as science fiction or dystopian. It's over 10 years old, on my ATY List, and it is a one word title. Fit it in wherever you can!
232 Pages For The Day (This puts me over the 600 per Person Limit)

H8 - Hit! The first 3-block ship has been sunk.

Emily, your book earned us a guess for female author.

Emily, you also earned your own guess for the historical fiction.

We earned another team guess for Edie's book ('started before the read-a-thon. Edie, I misunderstood the percentage rule. We can't books started before the read-a-thon, no matter the percentage, except for the 'started before the read-a-thon' task and page count.

Perri, yes, you can choose a non-lightning category which will earn you 1 guess.

We earned a team guess for Tammy's book, as it was our 5th for the ATY challenge. Tammy, you also earn your own guess.

The team now has four available guesses.

Samantha, you earned 1 guess for the mystery.

message 120: by Lieke (new)

Lieke | 697 comments Can we do K3 for one of the group guesses?

Not sure if you missed mine or are still going through the posts but I think I earned a guess (post 113). I'll take J1.

message 122: by Debra (new)

I'm sorry, Lieke, I added your guess to the summary on page 1 but forgot to actually comment it.

K3, J1, F12, L11 I1 are all misses.

Perri, you have 1 guess.

Susan, I added your pages to the total and the book is 1 of 3 for our next round for 'started before the read-a-thon'.

Samantha, you still have 1 guess available and the team has 3 guesses.

message 130: by Susan (new)

Susan Bonjour tristesse may count for a summer book cover.

Bonjour tristesse by Françoise Sagan

message 131: by Laura, Celestial Sphere Mod (new)

Laura | 3780 comments Mod
Susan, unfortunately we can't count it for any additional tasks since you didn't read the entire thing during the read-a-thon.

message 132: by Debra (new)

Debra Barstad Finished AshesThis book is a ATY book used it for week 30 of the challenge can use it where we need to.

message 133: by Lieke (new)

Lieke | 697 comments Laura wrote: "I'm sorry, Lieke, I added your guess to the summary on page 1 but forgot to actually comment it. "

No problem :)

Can we do G10 as a team guess?

message 134: by Debra (new)

Debra Barstad I believe with my reading Murder in winter and ashes this would complete my read 3 books prompt

message 135: by Tammy (new)

Tammy | 704 comments Debra wrote: "I believe with my reading Murder in winter and ashes this would complete my read 3 books prompt"

Way to go, Debra.

message 136: by Debra (new)

Debra Barstad Is there a page minimum on books to read for the prompts?

message 137: by Laura, Celestial Sphere Mod (new)

Laura | 3780 comments Mod
I believe 125 was stated at some point. There's some ambiguity in what is typically considered a novella but if it's technically a novella then it would count for the other prompt and not the book prompts.

So I counted Ashes for the novella prompt and added it to the page total. Murder in Winter brought your total to 2 books for the 3 books task. You still earned 1 guess for Murder's snowy cover.

G10 is a miss.

Only 20 pages away from 4,000!

message 138: by Edie (last edited Mar 27, 2018 03:20PM) (new)

Edie | 1149 comments Finished The Night Child

227 pages all read during readathon which should put us over the top on pages read!

Could count for "woman author" or book "set in winter". It also is an ATY prompt for me (debut book).

Can we guess B11 for a team guess?

message 139: by Emily, Conterminous Mod (new)

Emily Bourque (emilyardoin) | 11235 comments Mod
I'm good with B11. Can we also use a team guess for C1?

message 140: by Laura, Celestial Sphere Mod (last edited Mar 27, 2018 04:20PM) (new)

Laura | 3780 comments Mod
Edie, You earned a guess for set in winter. We also earned two team guesses for making it over the 4,000 pages and female author.

Using B11, that leaves us with 3 team guesses remaining.

C1 and B11 are both misses.

message 142: by Perri (new)

Perri | 886 comments How about H3?

message 143: by Laura, Celestial Sphere Mod (new)

Laura | 3780 comments Mod
I finished The Whsipering Room so that's one more for 'started before the read-a-thon and 369 pages.

I'm starting The Stars Are Fire tomorrow and will be reading Dawn next (only 89 pages)

G6 is a miss

H3 is a hit!

I've decided to get rid of the text-only board because it is hard to read and difficult for me correctly place markers.

I will update the graphic map every time now.

message 145: by Tammy (new)

Tammy | 704 comments Completed 3rd and 4th novels started after challenge today:
The Fifth Witness can fit as mystery/thriller, series (the Lincoln Lawyer series), and it is one of my ATY books. 421 Pages The Fifth Witness (Mickey Haller, #4; Harry Bosch Universe, #22) by Michael Connelly

Interpreter of Maladies This fits female author, author is a POC, Rating between 4 - 4.3, there is a flower on the cover, and the version I have is violet in color. 209 Pages Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri

message 146: by Veronica (last edited Mar 27, 2018 11:17PM) (new)

Veronica (ronireads13) | 816 comments Ugh, this week had been a lot more crazy than expected and I have not had much reading time. Hopefully the rest of the week is better.
So far, I have read 56 pages of A Man Called Ove. I started it prior to the start of the readathon, so can only count the pages read.

message 147: by Samantha (last edited Mar 27, 2018 11:24PM) (new)

Samantha | 1591 comments Well I don't have much to report in the way of reading today, I started Hausfrau and got about 15 pages in before getting distracted. I am going to try again tomorrow it is set in Switzerland so would be good for a guess. I wont waste too much time on it so might DNF at and start something I think I will enjoy more.

On a more fun note I have a guess and I would like to choose H4.

message 148: by Laura, Celestial Sphere Mod (new)

Laura | 3780 comments Mod
We earned one more team guess since Tammy's reads fulfill the 'Read 3 books' task.

Tammy, you've earned you're own guess for The Fifth Witness (series). Unfortunately you're at the 2-book limit for ATY so we can't count it for that.

The team also earned a guess for Interpreter of Maladies and for POC author. We have to choose female or POC and I chose POC since that gives us the 2 we need for a guess. Tammy, you also earned your own guess for flower on the cover.

Veronica and Samantha, I'm going to hold off on adding your pages until you finish the books or decide to not finish. Just so it is less confusing.

H4 is a miss.

We now have 4 team guesses.

message 149: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Barstad (maidenoflight) How about I3 for a team guess?

message 150: by Tammy (new)

Tammy | 704 comments I support Jennifer's Choice for I3 as a team guess. I'll hold off on my two guesses to see if we have some success on the group guess. I'll back whatever the team picks for us!
