Leslie | 2430 comments And the book slump continues...

I didnt love How to Save a Life (Dreamcatcher, #1) by Emma Scott 😭

I am rating this 3*** which is very generous . Although the storyline wasnt my thing, the writing is great.

Nay (4ukcats) I didn't want to influence you, Leslie, but knowing the plot, I kinda thought it may not be a 'Leslie book'. But it's off your tbr now!

And re: Trading Spaces--did you see the Hildi pink couch/chairs episode? And if so, did you notice how fake it was? It was obviously a set-up, and the show let Hildi paint the couches so they would get 'ruined' in the rain, giving her an excuse to go over budget and splurge for new furniture. I can't believe I didn't notice that all those years ago when I watched it--Hildi and Paige's 'acting' was horrible! lol

😭"

never mind.........

message 109: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Nay, what got me about that episode more was how unrealistic it would be to purchase 2 couches for $500! Not to mention to find them in hot pink??? But its ok, I just love seeing the crazy designs and the homeowners reactions.

I think from now on I need you to warn me if you don't think I will like a book. 😉 How to Save a Life was not at all what I was expecting. I wanted swoony/romantic and it felt depressing and weird. The whole (view spoiler) Just not my type of story. My 3*** rating is very generous.

Tessa | 1761 comments I remember one person crying because the room was so not her. And I remember them doing a really expensive home and painting curtains because of the budget. lol Yes, it did look as bad as you are thinking.

I didn't say anything because: 1) it was on your tbr, so I knew you wanted to at least try it; 2) because I didn't want you to miss out on a gem if it happened to 'click' (I loved it and was crossing my fingers!)
