It's a book about about a girl who has been adopted by a man, who are living together happily but she begins to question who her mum was and what happened to her. Her mum drowned at sea but the girl as a baby survived because she was up in a cello case and floated to shore and was adopted by this single man who looked after her. She runs around roofs and has help from a group of orphans who live permanently of these roofs. I think it is set in Paris or London.
