I'm also working on writing fiction, so I read some books on the craft. By day, I'm an English teacher and an avid cook.

Welcome, Rob. What is your favourite dish to cook?

Oh, there are so many choices... but I would say that pad thai and cauliflower mac and cheese are my current favorites.

I'm into dark psychological thrillers, everything from the classic Thomas Harris novels to Lisa Regan, Melinda Leigh, and T.R. Ragan. Look forward to meeting other readers and sharing reading ideas.

I hope everyone is faring well in these strange and crazy times.
I am from Nottinghamshire in the UK where I live with my amazing family. Amongst many hobbies, I'm a writer and big reader. Favourite authors include Mo Hayder, Sandrone Dazieri, Thomas Harris and Steig Larsson. Less recently I have always enjoyed Oscar Wilde and Harper Lee, and less fictionally, Christopher Hitchens & David Attenborough.
Relatively new to Goodreads as both as author and reader so I am excited to post more reviews and meet other likeminded psychological thriller/thriller/cosy thriller/suspense lovers.
All the best!

I've been around for awhile and have probably said "hi" before, although I am sporadic in my attendance.

Hey Paul,
Fellow Uk'er! I thought I'd ping you a message being from your neck of the woods, and not just the UK! My family and I commonly walk in the Peak District, it's incredible out there! Always well worth a pint in Baslow afterwards too! :-)

I have & really liked it."
Yes, it's superb, particularly season one!

Hello Anees. I'm in North Carolina USA. Glad to meet you.
Hope you'll join some of our book discussions.

Hi everyone! My name is Anna, I am a 40 something book lover living in the south east of England.
I love to read, but like Jess, have been in a slump. My reading this year has been very sporadic and I thought that going back to the Crime, Thriller, Mystery etc. genres, which were always my favorite genres, would spark my reading love again.
I am really looking forward to getting to know you and participating in the group.

I am new to the group. My name is Paul Bellocq, and I am a researcher in criminology and behavioural science. My preferred topics of interest are unsolved murders and cold cases. I have recently published, View to a Kill: Deciphering the Murder of Mary Jane Kelly, which is available on Amazon. I look forward to conversing with the members.

I've been reading sci fi and fantasy for forever, but I got bored and decided to try a psychologial thriller. Now I can't get enough of them! So far, I've just been reading the more famed books like Gone Girl and such, but I hope to learn about the lesser known writers here.

I live in the UK and have always written. I beat Adrian Mole to it by starting a diary at 13, kept it up daily for 17 years and then consigned it to the attic. I think 'purile' would be a good descriptor. But it got the old pen moving.
Now, decades later, I have recently published my debut thriller, 'Taken Flight' with sales just breaking the 1,000 mark. So I pretend to my friends that I am a real author now.
I like a good thriller. Plot does it for me. Thank you, Lee Child. Perhaps I am quite shallow? I also read what I call 'books about stuff', which I think means non-fiction.
The link here show Amazon UK, but the book is available on all regional sites.
Taken Flight: A hundred people vanish. For one, it's personal.

I am fresh out of Med School and I have always loved reading. I read pretty much everything I can get my hands on but this is my favourite genre,so I'm glad I'm here. Hoping to get a few suggestions and interact more with people with similar taste.

Tell me, when you read a book or watch a film that includes a hospital scene do you cringe at the inaccuracies of procedure and dialogue? Or do you let it pass as it is 'only fiction'?

I'm Christy! I'm a 28-year-old mother of two. My boys are 7 and 9 (well, almost). We are doing virtual school this year, I am training to be a travel agent, and I have been reading a LOT more than what I have in the past. I go through phases of wanting to read and convincing myself that I don't have the time.
When it comes to reading, I love light-hearted romcoms, post-apocalyptic fiction, suspense (I am a true crime junkie, that's actually my fav podcast right now "Crime Junkies"), and sci-fi/fantasy/paranormal RH and YA.
Hi Norm, Iain, Anooja, Christie,
Welcome to the group. I hope you'll enjoy the group. If you ever need anything, please feel free to message me.

I like true crime books too. Sounds awful to say that, doesn't it, but it's such interesting reading.

Same here! I always feel funny about saying "four stars, I enjoyed that" when it comes to real life crime.
