The brothers name was Speed and I think that’s the book title. The main character had an affair with the maid upstairs in the train room. His family sent the maid off but then the character fell for a bank teller who was also black like the maid

When I use any search engine for “Speed” in fiction a million titles come up but not this book. Maybe the title is something else?
