Awesome! I'm definitely reading From the Start this month, but it may be a little later. I should start my "lighthouse" novel tonight whatever it is. :-)
Anyone else planning ahead? Here's a tentative selection of books I hope to get to this month that may fit some upcoming categories.Standalone:
#1
#2
#3
This week I'll try to get a start reading them and stop halfway-ish.
Great thinking Hannah!I've got so many options for standalone, first in the series, second in the series and third in a series that I've no doubt I can find one.
As for starting different ones a little early that may work, excellent strategy. Especially if a winning category is called.
I started
, which will work for standalone, 2nd or third in series. If Mountain/Hill is called, I will read
- 4th in series
I meant if River/Lake/Ocean was called.I think if River/Lake/Ocean is called I will read
If any other 4th category is called I will read
If the first in the series is called, I have a few options - probably something for the uniform challenge.
Well, my book for LIGHTHOUSE (first in series)
fell flat for me. I just couldn't get into it so I have stopped reading it. So, I believe I will read
for first in series.
We have another week team. This one isn't a winning category. Here are the details:The Tenth category is...
24. Heart (Standalone)
Options for completing this category:
1: read a book with a Heart on the cover or in the title.
2: read a book that is NOT part of a series.
3: read a book that starts with the letter S (for Standalone)
I'm 44% done with
so will finish that for this category.I'm silently happy that it is not a winning category yet :-)
Staci wrote: "Oh wow! I really enjoyed it. Sorry it was a miss for you Brittany."Well, who knows why I couldn't get into it. I also have a lot going on around here with my daughter's graduation coming up and all the various recitals, etc going on. I am a wee bit stressed. So maybe that's it. It didn't click immediately, so I had to move on. I have some other books by her on my kindle and audio, and I plan to give this author another try down the road.
For this week (Heart/Standalone) I am going to read
, as it is a standalone, and I have much more than 100 pages left to read in it. :)
I just finished The Heart Between Us but had less than 100 pages remaining so that won't work unfortunately. I will probably read a standalone for this challenge.Brittany, look forward to reading Storm Front!
I'm halfway through that one, Brittany. I'm reading several books tonight to hopefully be ready if the last category gets called!
The suspense! About an hour to go...Just finished a novel and have one in the works. My one in the works is book one of a series.
My first in series novel isn't a fit, but that's ok. We've got a week to finish the next category (Road) as a winning category wasn't called.I was surprised at the number of roads on covers. Funny how you can miss things if not looking for them. My most "road" novel is:
Most likely for this category:
Happy reading all!
I'm reading a vintage book with a road on the front, but I'll have to add the cover image here as the edition isn't in the database. I hit it a good knock last night but wasn't quite able to finish.
I would like my current read to work, but it won't
(though I can imagine it is a road in the background).I will probably read
which is the 3rd in the series
For this most recent category I'm going to read
as it starts with T and i have more than 100 pages left in it. :)
Well...actually, finished a different one that has a road on the cover...I'm a few chapters away from the end of Gytha still, so I'm going to post this one instead.
Just finished my "road" novel. I'm thinking things are about to get crazy with categories called daily. We'll know soon!
Just finished my road book as well. Will post the review soon.I'm thinking to start the book I plan to read for the river category, so that if categories are being called daily, I will have a head start :-)
Yes we are all caught up! Well done team! The Twelfth category is...
6. Dog/Cat (1)
Options for completing this category:
1: read a book with a dog or cat on the cover or in the title.
2: read a book that is first in its series.
3: read a book that starts with the letter O (for one/1)
Be sure to check into your team's chat thread before the next category gets called and let them know your reading plans. If it has been two weeks since you last checked into the team's thread (and it isn't a planned absence), you will be removed from the team. Have fun guys!
----
This IS a winning category, so another category will get called tomorrow at 12:01 AM (ET) if a team hasn't called a valid BINGO by then.
I'm going to use my free pass on this category. Will rather try to focus on River for in case that gets called soon.BTW - if we get dog/cat, we have another option for Bingo, since we then need man/women for bingo.
Nicely done Dizzy!I'm going to go with
. It's the first in the series and just over 200 pages. Hope to make a good dent in it tonight.
Sarita, thanks for sharing river/lake is a winning category for us.After dog/cat, man and woman will always be a winning category.
Let the mad dash to the finish begin! Happy reading all!
