Group of children realize that everything is interconnected by threads

The story had a group of children (idr how many), they found out that everything is connected humans, places, things, time etc. They were using these threads to jump around (travel to different places).
**There was a room and they couldn't step on certain parts of the floor (idr why but it was safe)** there were a lot of puzzle like things they had to figure out so they could get back home.

I vaguely remember the cover being blue maybe with some white threads

I read this book around 11 years ago so everything is fuzzy
