I was keeping pace with Riordan for quite some time, but then grad school came along and I had to stop.
I never got further than Mark of Athena and I haven't read any of the Magnus Chase or Apollo stuff.

Looking forward to getting back into his stuff!

If I remember right, the one in April was set up last fall. several months before this one.

To be honest when I suggested this buddy read I didn't even know PJ was on the schedule but I wasn't looking for it since I read that series in 2016. But yeah from what I've heard its a good idea to read PJ before this one.

You need the background that PJ gives you. It plays a fairly big role in this series.

Through ch 32 (view spoiler)[while I'm enjoying the heavy infusion of minor mythological beings (and feel like I've learned a little bit), I'm finding the actual plot a bit too repetitive. Mythical creature, confrontation, escape, repeat. It's not giving me much to grab onto every time I pick it up, so I'm finding myself a tad bored. Probably why it's taking me so long to read (along with various personal issues). Am I the only one who's having trouble with it? Or is it a victim of everything else I have going on? :) (hide spoiler)]
