R16: Team #8 ~ Chapter Chicks

Totally agree! Buffy was my hero for so long! Then Mercy came into my life and I thought, "it couldn't possibly get better than this". Along comes Jane, riding in on Bitsa with all the swagger and snark, bashing heads & asking questions later ... she's definitely my OTP. ♥♥♥

I love this series!!! I can’t get enough of it. Jane kicks ass! Beast is awesome too!!! I love the world the author creates and how it is evolving so seamlessly.
I really hope she and George eventually get together. If Leo wasn’t in the picture I think she would have chosen him over Rick. Rick is an ass. He came off as a bit of a player to me, and not happy he turned out to be one. Curious what was said between him and Jane at the end of the book.
I am curious what Evangeline is up to. Why was she casting spells? I am hoping questions that I have are answered in the next book. Sad to say that I will probably have to wait at least a week to find out. Right now it seems like eternity.

Hope you have a good trip Ora.

I had to look up what OTP stands for LOL! And now that I know, she's mine too ;)

I had a difficult time getting into this one. It was written well but I just wasn't feeling it. I didn't get Cole's obsession with James. He wasn't very likable. I don't think I'll continue the series

Review: Things are getting really really intense now. Jane continues to awe and inspire me with her unrelenting badassery. The way she handled those pesky wolves was the highlight of the book for me. I also loved the new character Girrard (sp?), the Mercy Blade. He was a fascinating addition. Still not sure what he is though. There was a teaser that he might be an elf, but nothing positive yet. Can't wait to find out more about him and see what other characters may show up next.

Ahhh, I know that feeling. Kinda like when you read

@Sarah: Yes! And from what I understand, he's not the only Mercy Blade, there are others like him. I want to know more! LOL

Review: I was literally in danger of falling out of my chair because this book had me so on edge! "Intense" doesn't even cover it! Clan Yellowrock is expanding once again and thank goodness! These guys are spread so thin with the EVs in town! Traitors are revealed, some long threads are tied up (finally!), and new plans put into motion. (Leo, that tricksy bastard! - What was he hoping to accomplish!?)
I have to know what happens next! Especially with Gee's new role and Gregoire's victory! - what does this mean long-term?? And Katie??
** Side note: I would highly recommend reading Soulwood # 2 before reading this book.**

I only have one more book to go!

I only have one more book to go!

So am I right in thinking that there is a tie-in series as well? Should I be reading that along with JY?

You can find the reading order at FaithHunter.net:
http://www.faithhunter.net/wp/reading...
She includes all of the little short story snippets on the list and where you can find them. My library had most of the compilations and the few that they didn't have, I purchased from kindle for $2.99 or less.
Another good resource for all things Jane is the SOS discussion board for JY/Soulwood/Faith Hunter: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1...
So glad you are enjoying it!

Thanks Melissa. I actually found a bunch of the snippets on sale at Audible for 69 cents each. It was such a good deal I had to snap them all up. I did check out the discussion board, but you guys are so much further along than me, I didn't want to read anything and get spoilers. But I'm catching up quick! LOL

The girls on the discussion board are pretty good about marking spoilers so you should be okay. The best news - that Steph shared with us from the FH Newsletter:
"There will be more Jane and more Nell books for a total of 14 Jane and 5 Nell. This contract will have a book out every 8 months starting in 2018 and carrying through to 2020."
There's also links to some of the shorts that appear on FH's blog that are really helpful because she likes to do "blog tours" and sometimes it's tricky to find all the parts of a story.

Review: So yeah ... this book was a bit of a struggle for me. I have picked it up and stopped reading it 3 different times in the past year, never getting further than the first few chapters. Glad that I didn't give up on it. The story was really good. My only complaint is that it probably could have been 100 pages shorter.

This is the second book in a trilogy about Dr. Moreau’s daughter. When murders start to happen in London, she is not sure what to think until she sees Edward again. As she tries to help find a cure for herself and Edward she finds out that her father had supporters and wanted to continue with his work. I do love the premise of this trilogy even though I do have some problems with the MC. For someone who is suppose to be so intelligent, she did some very stupid things. I found that I wished this was written in third person to find out more what Edward and Montgomery were up to when they weren't with Juliet.

First off I loved the narrator of the audiobook. I caught on to what was happening with Clive way before Graham did. I thought it was pretty obvious. But still a nice and creepy story and I thoroughly enjoyed it

Review: I have not read any Eve Langlais before so I wasn't sure what to expect. Apparently, Dragon Point is a spin-off series from Bitten Point but I didn't feel lost diving right into what appears to be a spin-off of a spin-off - Kodiak Point being the first from what I can tell. Aimi wasn't my fave because of all the "mine" stuff until the hoarding instinct was explained. Then I kinda got what the author was doing there. Brand was hit or miss for me too. The story overall was just okay but I am curious to see what happens with the snarky twin sister. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I had followed the series from the beginning because some of the things that probably should have had weighted importance were lost on me.

Book: The Return
Author: Jennifer L. Armentrout
Date Read: May 22

I love reading this author’s books so it surprised me that I really didn’t care for this book. Part of the reason was needing to read the Covenant series to understand the background and probably understand Seth more since it sounds like he was in that series. I really didn’t care for either MC’s and it made it painful to listen to the book. I think if I didn’t have the audio available I would have DNF'd the book. It makes me sad since I love her Lux and The Dark Elements series. I’m debating reading her Covenant series to see if I may have a different opinion of this series and see if the second book is better.

Not the best mystery I've ever read. There were no big twists or anything. I did feel horrible for Nick. And I wanted to see him get justice for all he had to endure. Poor guy.

Thank you for posting a review with no spoilers! I am going to be starting book 3 today so I'm still a bit behind you. I'm loving this so far! So many awesome characters. And I love the fact that Jane is so badass, she's puts Buffy to shame. LOL
