Kristin (bookloverinva) | 35 comments One of my favorite themes is where the in-laws hate the heroine and it creates conflicts with the Hero. I don't want a wimpy heroine who takes it lying down but one who stands up for herself. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Oops, well nowadays I've found it's only the H that hates the h or her family, while the h charms the H's family.

I checked my shelves and here are my results (I didn't like them all):
- The marriage he must keep by Dani Collins, the H's cousin hates the h because she chose the H instead of him.
- The Italian's runaway bride by Jacqueline Baird, the H's mom doesn't like the h and his sister in law has her own agenda.
- The Markonos bride by Michelle Reid, both sets of parents conspired to separate H and h.
- The baby deal by Allison Kelly the H's cousin lives with him and she doesn't like the h.
- A Sicilian seduction by Michelle Reid, the H's sister thinks her husband is having an affair with the h, so she hates the heroine.
- Bought for her baby by Melanie Melbourne, h is hated by both H's mom and sister.
- The Arabian love-child by Michelle Reid, there's a secret baby and the H's brother was the one who interfered so the h couldn't tell the H and the H's father hates her for keeping his grandchild hidden. But both the H's brother and father make small appearances.
- Ruthless awakening by Sara Craven, the H's aunt hates the h because the h's mom had an affair with the H's father.

Hope it helps :)
