I love to read a good book, so soothing and peaceful, and love writing too :)

Be careful with the challenges, they can be very addictive. All of them have different levels so everyone can participate. Even if you don't read much.
If you want to make few 'quick' friends here, I suggest checking out tower teams challenge. It's easy one, all you have to do is read books (and it doesn't matter how many you can read). We are divided in several teams and we are competing who'll be first to reach certain number of points.

We have a part of the group for authors Author Self Promotion where you can tell us more about your writing.
Of course you're welcome to hang out with us in other parts of the group too.

Same! It's like the scene in Beauty and the Beast when he buys one for Belle. I'd be totally smitten by that. :P

That library is only reason Belle stayed with Beast, no matter what Disney is trying to tell us. We know what's important :P

Look around. You'll find some great books being read. And some great challenges being played.
Have fun!

favorite book: hard one.... catch-22?

Glad you'd already found something you're interested in joining.

Also if you want to meet new people quickly, I suggest checking tower teams challenge. Nothing complicated, you only read books and get points for it for your team.
No pressure, of course, for anything. Only friendly suggestions. ☺ Take your time, explore the group and join in in whatever you like. ☺

Birthday: Dec. 26
Favorite Book(s): I'd have to go with either "The Stand" or "Gone With the Wind," as I found both worthy of re-reading despite their immense size.
Favorite Book Genre: Historical Fiction, Mystery, Thriller, Suspense, Crime, Horror. Some Sci-Fi, Paranormal, Bios/Memoirs. I'd like a crossover involving a couple who travel through time to various historic periods in order to solve crimes with the help of a spirit friend. :)

Favorite Food: Popcorn, but it must be made the old-fashioned way, on the stove-top with kernels and oil. Not microwaved, air-popped or stale theater popcorn from a bag. *shudder*
Any Pets: One blue parakeet. I do wish he were a cat or a Great Dane, but then he'd be awfully unhappy in that bird cage.
If I could live anywhere in the world it would be: Hogwarts, Camp Half-Blood, the Starship Enterprise, or maybe Inkworld.
I know I'm a book addict because... my biggest regret is not having started a lifetime book list when I was a kid. So very many forgotten books that will never make it to my GR book list. :(

Any Pets: My dog, Whiskey, is my favourite reading buddy.
If I could live anywhere in the world it would be: London.
Finish the line: I know I'm a book addict because.... one of my teachers at school once yelled at me for reading too much. I didn't know that was a thing?

Have you tried the Out of Time series by Monique Martin? I've only read the first book and there was no spirit friend but there was a vampire!

Thanks for making us your first group on GR. Hope we won't disappoint you.
As you can probably see, we have plenty of (great) challenges. And people are great too.
If you want to jump into crazy immediately, I suggest checking out tower teams challenge. It's easy one (just read and collect points based on page numbers) but we all get little nuts in those trying to beat each other to the finish line. :P

This club looks really nice and I'm looking forward to try some challenges! Unfortunately I had little time to read lately, but even reading about the challenges was nice. I think many are a bit too intensive for me, so maybe I'll just start with a buddy read :)
I joined because I don't have a lot of friends who read and I'd like to see other people's interpretations and thoughts on books. Some of my favorite books are Alice in Wonderland, The Old Man and the Sea and The Godfather. I mostly read 'classic literature' and sometimes fantasy/science fiction and some non-fiction. I read books from various writers and don't really have a favorite yet. I know I'm a book addict because... I dream of one day having a library room (and preferably a house attached to it).
Cheers ;)
