If you like all the challenges you might want to check out the RPG Challenge too since there's lots of mini quests that are all part of the bigger challenge.

Kelly (ladykatala) | 5020 comments Make your own post in the RPG folder then you can set it up however you want to track your progress. If you look at some others threads you can see how they set up their log.

You can also stop by The Tavern if you have questions and there's lots of people who have answers to things pretty much all day :)

message 806: by Nancy (new)

Nancy Smith Hi everyone, My name is Nancy Smith. My book listed on GoodReads is called "The Slow Kill." Despite the name, it's not a murder mystery. "Slow Kill" is a term to describe prolonged drought. The book is a near-future scifi and set in Austin, Texas where we have had drought for several years. The major theme of the book is related to isolation vs community and hopefully isn't as depressing as this post sounds. I think the story has heart. I enjoyed writing this book for you. I hope that you would enjoy reading it.

message 822: by Cait S (new)

Cait S | 2825 comments Welcome to the group, Brittany!

As far as reading faster, challenges hugely changed my speed. In 2013 I read 30 books total. 2014 was when I started doing challenges and I read 115. Having the motivation of completing something/competing in a game/etc definitely helped me. So if you find some that look like fun, I'd say sign up and see if that helps you too. Even if it doesn't, they're super fun to do anyway!

I hadn't even looked at it like that! I've set a goal for myself this year of 70 books. so far in the last 2-3 weeks I've read 3, so hopefully I can speed up a bit to meet my goal!

message 824: by Tammy (new)

Tammy Hi everyone!

My birthday is January 3.
Choosing a favorite book is so hard! Maybe The Winds of War by Herman Wouk because I think it is among the first books that got me hooked to my favorite genre - historical fiction. So for right now I'd probably choose Herman Wouk as my favorite author. You'd probably get a different favorite book and author on a different day!

My favorite color is green. I guess my favorite food is chocolate, although I love most foods!

I have a dog, Chesty. I got him at the local shelter almost a year ago. He's named for Chesty Puller. It's a long story.

If I could live anywhere in the world it would be where I'm living right now - Hendersonville, Tennessee. I'm loving my home and community.

Finish the line: I know I'm a book addict because....I have piles and piles of books! I try to clean out the piles occasionally without much luck. I love reading but I also love the books themselves!

I'm Martha. I love mysteries, especially "whodunits," but I also read a lot of cozies, PIs, and police procedurals. I also like history, SF/fantasy, and some thrillers. In fact I'll read almost anything except romance novels.
I own both a kindle and nook, but also read hardbacks and paperbacks and listen audio books. So its not unusually for me to read or listen to more than one book at a time.

I look forward to being in the group and joining some of the challenges.
