MountainKat | 31599 comments Let's reflect on the best and worst of the previous month's books.....

I know I can get so focused on what is next that I forget about all the wonderful books I read for the previous month's challenges! We finally got winter here in SoCal! There is snow on the ground and sickness in the air. Seriously, it is everywhere this year and I am so done with it!! I hope you all have managed to escape the cold and flu that have hit our family for the second or third time... Well, now that you know way too much about me - again, let's get back to books shall we? How did February's reading go for you? Did you find some goodies or just some so-so ones?

Did you discover some gems last month? DNF a few? Find your new book boyfriend or a heroine who personifies TSTL? Come on, we all want to know! What were your standouts, good or bad, for February?

MountainKat | 31599 comments Reading was slow for me in February, see the comment above, on top of it being a short month. BUT, I did find a few that I loved! The first one was Sex, Not Love by Vi Keeland - it just worked for me and I loved it! Next was The Long and Winding Road by T.J. Klune - I thought it was a fabulous ending to this family's story! And the last was a reread, Do Over by Mari Carr - loved it as much as the first time I read it - and I still want letters like that!!

A couple of other standouts for February were About That Kiss by Jill Shalvis and Four Nights With the Duke by Eloisa James. I really enjoyed both of those.

The only dud for me was Marked by Elisabeth Naughton - I didn't enjoy that much at all. Both the story and the style didn't work for me. Oh well!

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments My big wins were:

Us by Sarina Bowen. I hadn't loved the first book but this one was fabulous! Such a great surprise :)
And I did a few rereads for comfort that are always 5 star reads for me - The High King's Golden Tongue, Fit to be Tied and Old Loyalty, New Love.

Didn't have any real duds. Probably my least fav was Bound (book 2) simply because it didn't really move the story much further along... (I get impatient LOL)

Robin (robinmy) My only 5-Star book in February was a re-read of The Raven Prince by Elizabeth Hoyt. I liked it even better than the first time.

A couple books that I read with 4.5 Stars were Murder on St. Mark's Place and The Wrong Side of Goodbye.

I read a couple of short stories from an anthology called A Season in the Highlands. I didn't care for the two stories I read (Jude Deveraux & Geralyn Dawson), so I didn't bother with the rest.

Trio | 2789 comments what a great idea for a thread!

I had a couple 5 star reads: Citywide which was the first FF story that I've really loved. Straight Up which I'd give more than 5 stars if I could, and lastly Get Up which was truly spectacular.

Two great audiobooks this past month: Michael Lesley doing The Queen & the Homo Jock King and Gomez Pugh doing the audio for Winter Kill

oh, worst books? Love Like Mine which I dnf'd, Owned (it just didn't work) and Sasquatch (ugh).

LOL - I loved the two audios you loved as well when I listened to them.

SHassell has only rated 3 stars on the two books I've read by that author but I'll definitely check out those other two... (not the worst books ;)
