So I've finished The Blue Sword as part of my Series Challenge and will read The Hero and the Crown sometime this month. Right now I'm reading Throne of Jade. So far I'm loving it, but I do love Dragons.

Joseph | 1651 comments Finished A Conjuring of Light, which I quite enjoyed and, in keeping with my current theme of finally finishing series, I started Chains of the Heretic, the third & final in Jeff Salyards's Bloodsounder's Arc trilogy.

I've been wanting to get into this series for a while. Is it really good?

So, just finished The Hero and the Crown. Yes, it is another Dragon tale (the dragons are the bad guys in this one). Now I'm on to Shadows Linger.

I'm curious too. I've never read any book by Brent Weeks. I wonder if I should start with Night Angel or Lightbringer :)

EDIT: I meant Night Angel, not Night Anger haha

Oh, I'm sorry, I meant [book:The Dwarves
. I've started both of the Weeks series' and I can honestly say, IMO, that their both really good. (This is really weird, I have seemed have linked the first of my sentence to the book and I can't get it off. Really strange)

Haha... I wondered which you meant too. I was all set to launch into praise for Weeks, then i read down a bit.
I read the first 3 dwarf books, back to back, a couple of years ago then the 4th a few months later. I would highly recommend them. Its a great read ;told from the perspective of a dwarf who wasn't brought up by dwarfs. So as he learns about them, their culture and traditions, so do we. There are also elves, orcs, wizards...... whats not to like?!
Don't let the fact that it's translated from German put you off. If the translator wasn't credited on the title page I would never have known

Oh, whoops, totally misunderstood your comment Tnkw01. But thanks for answering anyway ;)
The dwarf series sounds very interesting. Fantasy novels usually focus on humans or elves with dwarves being creepy little side characters. I'm really curious about a dwarf POV.
Also, I'm doing a cover challenge for another group and book #1 fits the "Cover with a dwarf" slot quite nicely haha. And on the TBR list it goes... :D

Elise (ghostgurl) | 1028 comments I've recently started Griffin's Daughter. Part of a new goal to knock off more books from my giant TBR, especially those that have been sitting on my shelves for years. We'll see how successful this plan is.

I went to the library this morning intending to pick just a few mangas. There were looots of people so I volunteered to help out the librarians.
I was putting back some books on a shelf in the SF/Fantasy section when I tripped, bumped into said shelf to avoid falling on my face and, as a result, a book was knocked from the shelf and fell into my arms: Les Nains.

So I'm checking it the synopsis... Told from the perspective of a dwarf. There's also humains, elves and mages. Translated from German. Yup, it's the French edition of Die Zwerge.

Must be fate :o
