Shit I forget the rules to this challenge

Can we put it on the name mixer picker thingy

Or do I have to pick someone suggestion cause I know me - I’ll just pick them all then stay up for a week till I finish them all and I won’t sleep then go to work tired to think straight then make a Med error then loose my pharmacist license then become unemployed then go on government assistance then do nothing all day except read and eat ramen noodles...

*blink*

*blink*

*crickets sounds*

Ela | 4291 comments I am so curious what you're going to think of this one Koola! I was NOT with the majority! Also, after I read the book some friends pointed out who "Author Anonymous" is and it made me all the more pissed!

I'm sorry Lisa, I promised I would not reveal who "we think it is" and I also promised Maryse. If you know or knew this author personally you would get it (like we did) otherwise there's no point for you to know...

message 127: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments So, five stars for Darkest Sunrise. I couldn't stop reading it. I got the next book already and will be starting it later.

I guess that is the point of wanting to be "anonymous". Can't blame a girl for trying :)

message 129: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments Nope! I would be bugging to know as well!

message 130: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Ok, I had forgotten about AA. I'm going to read it next, I think. Did y'all notice that the title has been changed to Lost in the Affair? Glad I bought the original because wonder if anything else was changed?? Also, I noticed that in the blurb for the new pb, hb, and Kindle editions on Amazon, it no longer says it's a "'true' story about..." "True" has also been taken off all but one of the edition descriptions on GR. Hmmmm

message 131: by Jean (new)

Jean | 1658 comments I just went back and read my review for AA.....yep it pissed me off, but I gave it 4 stars!

message 132: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments Renee wrote: "Ok, I had forgotten about AA. I'm going to read it next, I think. Did y'all notice that the title has been changed to Lost in the Affair? Glad I bought the original because wonder if anything else ..."

HOW INTERESTING?????? I SHALL COUNCIL WITH MY OTHER PEEPS!

message 133: by Nay (last edited Mar 12, 2018 12:32PM) (new)

Nay (4ukcats) It's probably because people (some on GR) were surmising (naming names) on a public message board who it could be, which could be damaging to a person's rep, especially if it's not about them. Can you imagine how awful that would be?

I saw one name being thrown around for someone who doesn't even fit the gender or the description as far as what people know about her private life--I couldn't believe people would put that out there.

message 134: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments Oh yes, I saw when this book first came out everybody was saying it was Jamie McGuire or Abbi Glines...

message 135: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Its Robin Hill. She seems kind of slutty like that!! Ha ha ha

message 136: by Leslie (last edited Mar 13, 2018 07:29AM) (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Totally kidding of course. Esp as she wasnt even an official author when book came out. 😘😗😂🤣

Honestly, I thought whole "true" thing was a hoax just to sell books. It worked, 'cause I just had to read it.

message 137: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments I had no idea they changed the title as its still showing as old on on my shelves. But its very weird they changed blurb too! What the heck??? She is not even claiming it to be true anymore???? Hmmmm...smells fishy. 🐟

message 138: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments Very Fishy!

message 139: by Grey (new)

Grey | 2385 comments Mod
are you shitting me??? they claim it isn't true anymore? that's the only thing that probably held me back from giving it a 5 way back when because I was so preoccupied with the mystery... gah, now I'm just pissed.

message 140: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments I strongly doubt that's the case! Can you imagine all the readers jumping on the hate bandwagon and false advertisement??? I think they are just removing the "True Story" for some reason.

message 141: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments I just downloaded sample of new version. This is what it said:

"Lost in the Affair is a work of fiction based on real-life characters and events. While the situations portrayed and behavioral characteristics are true to life, the setting and some character traits have been altered. "

I cant remember if my original version said this and I cant find it. Grrrrr.

message 142: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments This is what I got from the author:
“The change was a result of a market analysis by my agent to boost sales with romance readers. And yes, it is a true story and is stated as such in the interior.”

Kooloo | 596 comments Ela wrote: "I am so curious what you're going to think of this one Koola! I was NOT with the majority! Also, after I read the book some friends pointed out who "Author Anonymous" is and it made me all the more..."

My review... https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

message 150: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Great review, Koolooloo!! I’m going to pretend like it’s not a true story when I read it. I don’t want to be wondering the entire time which author it could be. I’m just going to tell myself that it was hyped as true strictly to sell books.
