Jean | 1658 comments I pick Stinger by Mia Sheridan for Kooloo! I loved that book! Or an oldie, but goodie.....Reason to Breathe by Rebecca Donovan. I read that book right after I found Maryse's blog!

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments I picked the wrong one for me again. ☹️

@28% Kooloo I'm so sorry but I don't think I'm going to finish. It's great writing and if I'd read it when it came out in 2012 I'm sure I would have five starred it. But my tastes have really changed since then. It sounds eerily like Fifty Shades, but maybe better. I didn't realize this was. D/s romance when I picked it. I don't really like reading those. But I can definitely see why it's a five star. It would have been for me too a few years ago.

Kooloo | 596 comments Yup when it first came out I loved it to
but if I would read it now.... mmmmm

Whoooohoooo you go girlfriend!

Jan (jan130) Great list to pick from Kooloo. I love this challenge. I've read quite a few of yours. Loved some, others not so much. For me from your list I pick Naked in Death Naked in Death (In Death #1) by J.D. Robb
Everyone raves about this series, and I've never read any. I'm sure I've got a dusty PB of this one somewhere but I've never cracked the covers. But maybe it's time........

message 59: by Jan (new)

Jan (jan130) Now, my rec for Kooloo. I see you haven't read The Passage The Passage (The Passage, #1) by Justin Cronin

You have to get on that, girl. You'll love it!

Which one again Kooloo? It rings a bell. I remember you asking me about it but I can't pin it down right now.

I almost picked that one!

I have this one reserved at the library!

*high five Jan*

message 63: by Jan (new)

Jan (jan130) What? You haven't read it either Fabi? I'm surprised! It's right up your alley. It's an awesome, epic read. Not a romance but a fabulous post-apocalypse read with weird vampires as well. But sci-fi not paranormal. really well-written.

*high fives Fabi* Enjoy!

message 64: by Kooloo (new)

Kooloo | 596 comments JAN and FABI!!!
lol I so started this book - but for the life of me I can't remeber why I shelved it again??
It was a while ago so YES tates change maybe that's all it will take to get back to it!
I hope this one wins!!!

Tessa | 1761 comments *drags Kooloo to the pick for me thread*

message 67: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments Alright, I don't know how my mood will go so I'm picking one of two and I'll read one of them. The Darkest Sunrise (The Darkest Sunrise, #1) by Aly Martinez or The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1) by Suzanne Collins

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments A Charm of Finches is this the one Kooloo?

message 69: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments Yeah. I've read In the Air within the last two years and it still works for me, but I honestly didn't think you'd like it. :( You've mentioned before you weren't into the BDSM books all too much.

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments Tessa wrote: "Yeah. I've read In the Air within the last two years and it still works for me, but I honestly didn't think you'd like it. :( You've mentioned before you weren't into the BDSM books all too much."

I've had that book in my tbr for years. Have listened to chatter in Maryse's about it for even longer. Never once did I get any hint it was D/s romance. Nor did I ever hear it was a cliffhanger. I just learned that a little while ago from a reviewer.

If I'd heard I would have known it wasn't for me.

But, I got through a third of it and, really, the writing is great and the atory is compelling. I knew I had to put it down before it got to the D/s part but I was kind of glued to it.

Funny enough, I'm glad I tried it and now know what everyone raves about.

message 71: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments :D It really is the best D/s series I've ever read. Though, that writing should explain why we all love Tristan and Danika too. I'd recommend that to you to read eventually. It's not a D/s book, though FILLED with angst.

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments Tessa wrote: "...though FILLED with angst..."

Whyyyyy are you cursing at me?

🤣🤣🤣

message 73: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments ROFL I can't help it. The series is beyond good so it had to be mentioned.

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments I think I've always gotten those two mixed up. Thinking they were one and the same. I bet I have the other in my tbr too. Lots and lots of books in there that I never got to.

message 75: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments You do! On GR it says Oldie freebie tbr. :) *is all helpful and stuff* The link is the characters Tristan and Danika were introduced in the Up in the Air series.

message 76: by Nay (last edited Mar 01, 2018 05:22PM) (new)

Nay (4ukcats) I had to go back and read my review of In Flight--I had forgotten it had elements of bdsm. And I had forgotten how much I loved it! And, of course, I agree with Tessa, Tristan and Danika is beyond good!

message 77: by Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications (last edited Mar 01, 2018 05:15PM) (new)

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments Were they really?! Cool!

Now, if there was a spin off featuring Stephan...😂😂😂

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments Some BDSM doesn't bother me so much. It's D/s relationships I don't enjoy reading. Maybe I have hidden issues with authority. 😂

I KNOW I can't read heavy angst. Real life has given me more than my share, I don't need any extra. 😎

message 79: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) I checked Kooloo's awesome list, and I'm finally going to read Tears of Tess (Monsters in the Dark, #1) by Pepper Winters

message 80: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments GAH! Alright, avoid T and D because that book has HEAVY angst. One of the heaviest of angst I've ever read. Two words... Book 2!

message 81: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments She put A Discovery of Witches (All Souls Trilogy, #1) by Deborah Harkness on her shelf. You'd probably like that one a lot. It's PNR and very smart.

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments LOL ok.

That one sounds familiar too. I'm sure I have it on some list or other. Maybe my Amazon wish list.

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments Oh and just to show how in the minority I am with In Flight. All my GR friends who read it 4-5 starred it except me and two others. That's minority right there. LOL

message 84: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) You're right, Tessa--very analytical. A Discovery of Witches is one of those books that you read and as time passes, the more you realize how much you enjoyed it. I gave it 4 stars, but I've never been able to shake that 'feeling' when I think about it. If I read it again, I'd probably rate it even higher. I was much more starved for a certain amount of romance in my books back then. lol

message 85: by Nay (last edited Mar 01, 2018 06:03PM) (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Kooloo--I was going to suggest you read the first book in the Fae Chronicles, but then I saw you had this on your tbr: The Restorer (Graveyard Queen, #1) by Amanda Stevens so I'm going to suggest The Restorer by Amanda Stevens. And this is one of my favorite covers ever--really reflects the tone of the book.

If you like creepy and gothic, this is an awesome book/series. I've read the first 3 and have got to read the rest!

Jan (jan130) Fabi wrote: "A Charm of Finches is this the one Kooloo?"

That's an awesome book. Must read.

Or was it The Goldfinch? The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt
Also a good read, although pretty long and IMO would have benefited from a bit of chopping.

Neither of those are romances, but both good reads, especially A Charm Of Finches.

Noooooo Jan lol

Kooloo | 596 comments Fabi❣️ I just sent you the Audiobook as a gift 🎁 😊

Ladies Adudible has this thingy were you can send a book to a friend for free from your library BUT you can only send to that friend the one time.

If anyone is about to buy an audiobook and wants it as a gift check with me first - I probably have it😘

Fabi NEEDS Email Notifications | 872 comments Thank you so much Kooloo!!!
