(She is so different than the Calypso I remember from the Pirates of the Carribean movies). The volcano scene made me want to chuck the book out of the window and scream into the night. Chapter 13 - 20 (view spoiler)[ I swear, I keep of thinking 'what a ride', but it was. Like, Annabeth is torn between Luke and Percy, and with Kronos having taken over Luke's body things are even more awkward, and than there is Rachel (one day, I want to beat a major titan with a fricking hairbrush) who is actually pretty cool. Also, Nico's growth is amazing and I remember him being way angstier than he actually is. I still want to hug him though. And just, the whole cast, and the romance, and the growth of the characters and a pretty realistic war, people die! Though it's a bit obvious when side-characters are introduced to die. New names pop up and guess who die? They. And talking about a cliffhanger ending! (hide spoiler)]

Does this series remind anyone of the Harry Potter series? Called to a camp/school for special kids. Hidden in a house with a man he doesn't like, just like Harry is protected by living with his vile uncle and aunt. A group of three friends Annabeth, Percy, Grover. (Ron, Hermione, and Harry.) Tyson reminds me a lot of Hagrid, a big emotional brute who is half giant or cyclopes depending on which world, with a love for animals, and he doesn't know his own strength. Percy like Harry is the chosen one, whom a prophecy may or may not speak about, and the mysterious Kronos like Voldemort may or may not return but once almost upset the entire world, assisted by Malfoy/Luke, and spoken about by a creepy seer/witch? I could go on in my comparisons but do not want to spoil anything for those who have not yet completed the series. Is the similarity there or am I making something out of nothing?

You're right. It's just heavily influenced by Harry Potter. Ever since it became a hit Harry Potter has been the number one idea pitcher for lots of authors

Chapter 1 - 8 (view spoiler)[ Honestly, I want to hug half the cast. Beckendorf, Clarisse, Silena, Nico, Rachel, even kinda Annabeth. I mean, Percy also needs a hug, but his parents (I completely forgot they actually got married) can cover that.

The book starts out with a bang (quite literally, ouch), and there is the mega crab I remembered. I thought it was in the Sea of Monsters, but clearly not. And then there is the mini adventure with Nico and Mrs O'Leary (I love that dog) and it's awesome, and kinda scary because Luke's mum low-key creeps me out. (hide spoiler)]

Chapters 9 - 16 (view spoiler)[ I love, and really, really love, the fact that the Gods have their flaws. Zeus is an ass, but so is Hades, and Hermes isn't all jokes and fun. I love that there are so many characters included (and a few name-drops for future books, I didn't know that two characters were already in these books) and that they all play important roles. All the dreams and visions are quite the convenience, but on the other hand, this has been used in all books so I shouldn't be surprised. And Clarrise, oh wow, and then Selena and I will just return to the book to finish it. (hide spoiler)]

Like, it feels like I just finished a series I have been following from day one (which isn't a fact because I read this series for the first time last year). The climax was wonderful, Percy's wish was wonderful and I loved that the minor gods finally got acknowledged and their kids. And the next prophecy! It made me excited to pick up the next book. All in all, this book was great, amazing, and I don't remember being this emotionally invested in a series. (hide spoiler)]
