Jason has a problem.
He doesn’t remember anything before waking up in a bus full of kids on a field trip. Apparently he has a girlfriend named Piper, and a best friend named Leo. They’re all students at a boarding school for “bad kids.” What did Jason do to end up here? And where is here, exactly?

Piper has a secret.
Her father has been missing for three days, ever since she had that terrifying nightmare about his being in trouble. Piper doesn’t understand her dream, or why her boyfriend suddenly doesn’t recognize her. When a freak storm hits during the school trip, unleashing strange creatures and whisking her, Jason, and Leo away to someplace called Camp Half-Blood, she has a feeling she’s going to find out.

Leo has a way with tools.
When he sees his cabin at Camp Half-Blood, filled with power tools and machine parts, he feels right at home. But there’s weird stuff, too—like the curse everyone keeps talking about, and some camper who's gone missing. Weirdest of all, his bunkmates insist that each of them—including Leo—is related to a god. Does this have anything to do with Jason's amnesia, or the fact that Leo keeps seeing ghosts?

I wonder how life is like for the Hypnos kids. How do they find their powers? Can I be a Hypnos? :p

That part was so funny when Hedge claimed to be Mr. Mclean's "life guard". Guard. Remember something? >

Somebody had brought Seymour the leopard head in from the living room and hung him on the wall. I laughed so hard at this. That leopard is cool xD.

Yeah I was spoiled for Piper's mum while not that deep into the book. I was looking up the Lost Hero fan art. BAD MOVE. I should've learned my lesson ages ago when I got spoiled for Half Blood prince looking it up just after I'd finished the Order of the Phoenix. Never look books up before reading them -_-'

Fortunately I wasn't spoiled for a thing in the Percy Jackson series . . .even the most obvious ones. I also looked up some fan art :D - like you said, not the best idea :) Also, i didn't finish the Percy Jackson series... some spoilers about that too...
Really like the Greek Mythology so it was the perfect series for me :)
But the story was written from different views, which i don't really like...
Like the Percy Jackson series more so far... maybe it gets better.

I had a little problem to really get into it, took forever to read it.
The story was good and the characters too (didn't reeeeeeally like Piper that much, don't know why) - but Leo is great :)
But it was told from differnt point of views and i don't really like that... and there was (view spoiler)[NO PERCY :( (hide spoiler)] and i like Rick Riordan's 1st person telling more.
Maybe i just started at the wrong time :)
I will conitnue it though :)

Oh well. I quite enjoyed the different perspectives. And I didn't like Piper in much either! At least through the beginning. She was ok I guess, as she proved herself to be brave and loyal. I loved the parts with her father though.

WHERE THE HELL DID MY SWEET PERCY GO?



Jason: Oh man was that an intense couple of chapters! So much has happened already! Who is Jason? What is Jason? How come he can’t remember anything? I also had no idea that a villain was going to appear so quickly—AND IT BEING DYLAN! Hot damn! I don’t know how to process this information. Also, I’m so happy to see Annabeth again!

It’s pretty interesting to hear about the Gods having different attributes and everything. For example: having different names for Roman and Greek. And I’m also wondering who kidnapped Hera, how it happened, and why Piper and Jason are both involved? Also… is Leo involved too?

Piper: Holy crap. She is an interesting person. I really want to know which god is her mother, since her dad is obviously the human. Also… why does Hera need to be freed exactly? Why is Annabeth getting dream messages and Piper having a person mind talk to her?!? Oh, and who the hell has her dad?

Reading a little about her past made me a little sad for her. Her dad is barely around or you know acting like her dad. Jane, his assistant basically does everything he should be doing but Jane doesn’t like Piper and Piper feels the same about Jane. AND WE FIND OUT WHO HER MOM IS  ”Hail, Piper McLean,” Chiron announced gravely, as if he were speaking at her funeral. “Daughter of Aphrodite, lady of the doves, goddess of love.”



TAKE THAT DREW! You aren't the only daughter of Aphrodite in this camp and you can't call my girl Piper an ugly dumpster girl anymore.



Leo: OH MY GOSH! He can create fire—which means he should be able to live within fire right? Like, not die or get burned if he walked through fire or something like that. So that’s pretty interesting! Also, why does something have to go wrong if there is a demi-god born with that gift? Then you find out he sees someone, but not really sees them, and thinks about how she tried killing him so many times throughout his childhood. But she wasn’t killing him—she was training him. Well and I guess sort of trying to kill him too I mean his evil “babysitter” did give him knives, a rattlesnake, and put him in like an oven or something to sleep in.

And he found the dragon!! Well I guess it’s not really a dragon since it has no wings but I have a feeling Leo is going upgrade this zero to a hero. Then Festus will be a real dragon!

Chapters 13-24: (view spoiler)[ So, Jason has a dream about the wolf Lupa who tells him to stop “her” but she isn’t talking about stopping Hera—so who is her? Also he told Annabeth that Thalia Grace is his sister—talk about dropping a bomb on someone.

Ugh I still hate Drew—does she die? Can she? Or will she finally get a personality that I like? Other than that I’m happy that Piper isn’t easily influenced by her. But maybe that’s because they can both charmspeak and maybe people with that power can’t control someone else who is also the same?

Holy crap the dragon can turn into a giant ass suitcase? That’s pretty freaking interesting and exciting and I want one.
Also, I hate how they keep secrets from each other. Although, I feel like Jason has told them the most—but Piper and Leo need be a little more trustworthy. I mean they are on a god damn mission together.



I’m kind of jealous that they went to Quebec, Canada and then were sent off to Chicago, Illinois. Those are places I’d love to visit…but I guess I can sit and read about it instead.



I thought the Cyclops fight was pretty interesting! And now Piper knows that Leo is a fire user. I wonder if they will tell Jason together about that… or if Leo will just tell him when he wakes up? (hide spoiler)]

Chapters 25-36: (view spoiler)[First let me mention that I like that all of their damn secrets are out in the open now. THANK GOD.



So much has freaking happened! I feel like every time these three kids go to a new place they are eventually captured and almost face death. I like that people who were dead are showing up and giving them hell though. I don't know why but I just really like their quest so far.

The king that turns people and things to gold was a cool concept and I loved how Jason tricked him into touching his son. Too clever. AND JASON FOUND THALIA!! Or she found him. Either way I'm so freaking happy for the family reunion!!



And also their mom was super crazy? Pretty interesting. Plus know that Hera actually despises all of Zeus's children is important--so I wonder why she has them searching for it all? Did she have a change of heart? Did she really leave Zeus before he closed the gates? What's wrong with Zeus and why is he so freaking butthurt? Who the hell is the lady trying to kill James?

Chapters 37-48: (view spoiler)[Okay, so Piper, Jason, and Leo team up and save Pipers dad and defeat the giant that was holding him captive. Coach was also there to help them out and then he took Pipers dad back home and promised to watch and protect them while they all go and save Hera.

So that fighting scene was intense and I didn't think anything else was going to happen--I was so wrong. The next fighting scene was even better. The team met up with Thalia and her team to face off spirits, wolves, and ogres. They find out where Hera is and now Piper and Leo have to team up and figure out how to free her. Jason also finds out that Thalia has been frosted? frozen? into a statue (which makes you think of the king who turned anything and everything into gold) and WHAM BAM. It's the Snow Princess. God I hate her. I hope they defeat her. (hide spoiler)]

What an ending! I really need to dive into the next book....LIKE NOW! I need to know if Percy is at the other camp and if he really did lose his memory!!! I hope he didn't fall for someone else, like how Jason is sort of falling for Piper but thinks he has someone special at his real camp. BECAUSE if that happens I will burn the book. I will. Annabeth deserves better. But then again I have no idea what will happen because I haven't read it...yet.

I'm so happy they teamed up and kicked ass. It was such a good fight!! I'm also really happy that Hera is helping out Jason, which I get that people don't trust her... but Jason was a gift given to her so you'd think that she wouldn't actually betray him. Well, I hope. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 1-5 (view spoiler)[ I can't help but imagine what it would be like to wake up on a bus with no memory of who or where you are.
It would be terrifying. Then when everyone says they know you and you don't, and there's no evidence of head trauma or anything else that would make a person forget. Yikes! But Jason has some awesome skills. And I can't help but notice how Jason keeps saying the Roman version of things rather than the Greek. Something fishy is going on here. (hide spoiler)]

The first thing that caught my eye is the change of writing from the first person to third. I dislike it a little bit as I really liked Rick Riordan's style of writing in the Percy series.

I like the new additions, everyone has their problem and their characteristics are really interesting. Can't wait to read more

I don't know about Jason, I thought the Greek and Roman gods were essentially the same but with him it feels like a Roman god is his daddy LOL. I really want to see what's his heritage

Piper's troubles are fun to read, I wonder if all of them will be solved in this book. Also that she's Aprodithe's kid is sure a shocker, I didn't think that would happen.

Leo taming a bronze dragon is sure awesome as well. I wonder if he'll find anything else in that cabin.

(view spoiler)[It's so nice to see Leo again! And I'm surprised by the fact that I actually enjoy Jason (Or more like I didn't give him a chance the first time around). And Piper, well, she is okay, if she isn't thinking about Jason or how she is going to betray them all. After all, she tackled a wind spirit (???) to the ground, which was cool, and she is stuck in the Aphrodite cabin (I miss Selena))

The info dump is a tad annoying, but on the other hand, it's great to pick up on all the hints and tidbits I didn't get the first time around, so that's cool. Can't wait to get the quest started--it's a pretty long introduction (on the other hand, this is a five book series so... (hide spoiler)]
