MM Romance with released prisoner getting HEA

This book was set in the US, in modern times. One MC had been imprisoned (not sure why). Whilst there, he made friends with a secondary character who helped him cope with being imprisoned. The romance occurs once the MC had been released. I don't remember who his romance was with, other than it was a male. At the end of the book, once HEA occurred, the couple are visited by his former fellow inmate accompanied by his partner. It was revealed then (maybe before) that the secondary character had been, and still is, in a MM relationship with (I think) the head of the prison. I read this book probably about 2 years ago, give or take a year, and got it from either Amazon or the now defunct AllRomance. I am particularly keen to see if there is a sequel that explores the romance of the secondary couple but of course can't remember the book or the author. It may have been part of a series or a stand-alone. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Hey Carol. So I’d like to try and help you find this book. It sounds interesting and is in my kind of genre. I’ve got a few questions to help narrow my words for searching.
Was the MC time in prison shown in flashbacks? Or did did it read the time in prison first and complete, then his time out?
Do you know if the story had a large portion describing the MC time in prison (like 50/50)? Or was it a smaller portion compared to his time out of prison (like 30/70)?
Any vague ideas what the cover may have looked like? Warm tones? Cool tones? Ect.
Just answer what you can, I’ll take a shot in finding it. :)

Thanks Britney and fingers crossed. More info - but its not much. The time spent in prison was told as a flashback (I think), most of the story was set post release (I think) but I cannot remember anything about cover - was ebook. I will keep trying to find and post more if I remember more.
