Katherine was out in the park. it was really dark outside, but she liked being outside late at night

Katherine sat in the grass laying on her back. she looked up at the dark sky and smiled up at the stars

Katherine leaned against the tree smiling at Alex. "i like to come out at night...look up at the stars..." she said

"yeah" she said smiling and taking a small step towards him. "so how old are you anyways?" Kat asked. something about him didnt seem right but she thought he was very cute
"you didnt seem so sure" she said laughing a little. "Im 17 too"

"oh." she said looking at him then up at the sky.
"yeah"he looked at her,then the moon. he saw a shooting star streak past the sky
Katherine smiled at the shooting star. "make a wish..." she whispered

Kat turned to him. "so what did you wish for?" she asked softly
"if I tell you it won't come true"he said
Katherine laughed "aww okay" she said still smiling. "so what brings you to this small town if your traveling." she asked sitting down on the grass again
"I'm just passing through"he said sitting down next to her
"well thats nice" she said looking over at him.

"Yeah" she said but didnt turn her head away from him.
"so,do you have family?"he asked still looking at the moon
Kat looked down at the grass. "i did ." she said hoping to not get emotional. "my parents both died in a car crash when i was 8." Katherine explained
"its okay..." she said quietly. "how about you? do you have family?"
