Jammin Jenny,

my picks for you: The Golden Compass (His Dark Materials, #1) by Philip Pullman & Red Dragon (Hannibal Lecter, #1) by Thomas Harris

For your genre pick, I'll go with Swan Song by Robert McCammon , which I've been meaning to read myself.

Happy Reading!

Candy | 43 comments Skandia I choose for you

The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender by Leslye Walton & The Storm Sister (The Seven Sisters #2) by Lucinda Riley
Bonus: The Secrets She Keeps by Michael Robotham

message 55: by Runell (new)

Runell Hi Denise!

I honestly don't know too many of the books on your list, but I've heard good things about These Shallow Graves by Jennifer Donnelly and while I haven't read this series by Sebastian de Castell, I do like his writing so I also choose Shadowblack (Spellslinger, #2) by Sebastien de Castell

For your preferred genre, I also don't really know too much about, but I gave it a shot (I've heard good things about this book as well): The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield

Thank you for the picks! :) I've already read The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield (and loved it), though. Anything else that would fit the genre that you've heard good things about?

message 57: by Runell (new)

Runell Darn, I checked to see if you had and it didn't pop up. I'll look and see if I can find something else.

Thanks, Zuzana! I'll read Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen , instead of Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen , since it's the only one of her completed novels that I haven't read as an adult.

I have not! Sounds good though. Thank you! :)

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 1078 comments I finished my first Dusty Bookshelf book

The Golden Compass (His Dark Materials, #1) by Philip Pullman

I loved it. I gave it 5 stars (probably would have been 4.5 if I had that option). Anything with animals, children, fantasy, magic and monsters is good with me. Plus, it referred back to the Garden of Eden so a little gospel in there too.

The Wife Between Us by Greer Hendricks was chosen as my April book-club selection, so I won't get to that this month. I'm currently reading This Fallen Prey (Casey Duncan, #3) by Kelley Armstrong, so, again, I've gone rouge. I'm still hoping to get to Ghost Camera by Darcy Coates this month.

message 70: by Runell (new)

Runell Theo, I forgot to come back when I finished reading it, but I read Alanna: The First Adventure by Tamora Pierce. This was a reread for me as I originally read it back when I was in middle school, but I loved it and I can't wait to continue with the series.

message 71: by Karen ♐ (new)

Karen ♐ (kmk1214) | 2365 comments Penumbra, finished both my books Never Say Never (Sniper 1 Security #2) by Nicole Edwards which was really good and Come Sundown by Nora Roberts which I loved!
