Sniper 1 Security #2

Never Say Never

Rate this book
Ryan Trexler has devoted his entire life to his family’s security business. And now that he’s slated to take over the reins for the company, RT knows that his life is only going to get more complicated. Add in the fact that he’s lusting over one of the men who works for him and RT knows that there are some serious tough times ahead.

Zachariah Tavoularis—nicknamed Z—has been employed by Sniper 1 Security for a decade. Despite being known as the most loyal enforcer outside of family, Z also has a reputation of being quite the playboy, though that was based more on rumor than fact. When an assignment comes up that forces the two of them to work together, Z knows it’s time to show RT he’s not the man he thinks he is.

Can they complete the mission, despite the fact that it puts them in a tenuous situation, bringing them closer than either of them ever expected? And will Z allow RT to convince him that they can never be together, no matter how much they both want it?

The sex here is fucking spectacular. Snaps, snaps, snaps! But the story line?

Just didn't do it for me. The MCs danced around each other for the first 50% of the book saying the same thing in their heads over and over and over. "We can't be together because of X, Y, and Z." *groan* Just fuck already!

So, if you can wade through the lackluster story line, this one is full of hot sex and alpha men. Skimming may be required but YMMV.

I listened to the audiobook...compliments to the narrators, because their voices were seriously hot !!

I've met Z and Ryan in the last "Walkers" book. Ryan is leading Sniper 1 Security. A security company founded by his father and his fathers best friend. Most of the employees are family and friends. Z has been working for Sniper 1 Security for a decade, and he has always has his eyes on Ryan (RT).

Ryan also has a thing for Z, but he has been burned by an ex lover in the past. An ex lover who used to work for Sniper 1. Ever since that clusterfuck, he has decided, that work and pleasure can never mix again. With nobody in the company willing to step up, everything falls on Ryans shoulders and he takes his job very seriously. Ryan is all work and no play.

When Ryan and Z visit the "Walker brothers", because of a wedding, the two of them come together (pun intended). They were HOT...damn (I think it was even better on audio, because of the sexy voices!)

Problem is..Ryan just can't let go of his rules and leaves in the morning, letting Z know, this can never happen again. Z knows that Ryan struggles with his feelings and lettng himself go, so he decides to be patient. I loved Z, he was so sweet and he didn't try to pressure Ryan into anything.

After some time, the two men are send on an assignment. They are forced to work together, live together and...pretend they are a couple. Ryan tries to keep his distance at first, but after a while, it's becomes pretty clear he wants Z as much as Z wants him. So....enter hot sex !!

The assigment ends in a bust, and Ryan blames himself for this. Convinced it's his fault for letting himself get distracted by Z. So again, he leaves.....leaving behind a once again crushed Z. By this point I really wanted to strangle Ryan (problem is...I loved his voice on the audio sooo much).

I understood were Ryan was coming from. What happend in the past, was fucked up, but come on man....enough is enough already. Z was such an awesome guy, he deserved more than that.
Thankfully we get to be fully aware of what Ryan is thinking. He isn't a bad guy....he's just needs to get his fucking head in straight !!

After all this, Ryan once again, tries to avoid Z, sending him on all sorts of little assignments, away from the office. This pisses of Ryans brother Trace (book 1), who happens to be Z's best friend. When Trace has been called in for his next assignment, he brings Z with him, forcing Ryan to once again work with the man personally.

The question is.....will these two be able to work their shit out.

I liked this book, but it was pretty long and it took a very long time for them to come together (well except for their first rendez vous). I got a bit bored by all the assignment shit...it wasn't really exciting or mysterious. Still...the voices on the audio were really good, so I didn't mind listening to them. I think if this would have been an ebook...I would have skimmed some.

Eventhough it takes a long time for them to get there...the steam was very very nice. Two hot alpha men going at it and my favorite.....they are vers !!!

I liked seeing the Walker brothers again, but I do have to admit there were also some people from the first book, that I didn't know. This got a bit confusing. Not enough to ruin the story, but still. I've read some of the "Walker Brothers" books, but not all. I prefer the mm books and I don't want to be forced to read mf, just so I can follow the storyline better. I didn't have that problem when I read "Ethan". All characters were explained in that one, so there was no confusion.

I'm gonna give this one 4 stars, but that's also because the narrators were that good. If I would have read this in ebook format...it would be 3,5 stars.

This book popped up on my feed and I’m mad all over again. I have to rant about how ridiculous this book was, I listened to it while working so it kept my mind from wandering I never would’ve finished otherwise.

One of the beefie jock leads admires the other one for being so smart and intellectual for referring “The DaVinci Code” (JFC) and like a chapter later this intellectual is like “I don’t know what French food is it French fries?” This is the level of character depth and continuity we’re dealing with. Also their names are RT and Z. The AUDACITY.

The plot is so dumb I’m going to explain it.
The book starts with the RT’s ex, his employee, trying to get their whole team killed because the ex thinks RT and Z have too much chemistry. Then there’s a 3 year time jump.

RT is like “I’ve been horny for Z for years but I’ll never date an employee again because my ex tried to kill us all and also he sued us after that and claimed sexual harassment. Also accordingly to literally 100% of people in the world including his roommates and family, Z has slept away from home banging a different dude every night for years, over 1000 dudes, and is not ever interested in a relationship. Z has never disputed this for years.”
And Z is like “I know (the whole murder ex thing) happened and I know I have never discouraged rumors I don’t want a relationship and have banged 1000+ dudes in the last few years, so RT would think I wanted a 1 night stand if I hit on him, but I’m in love with him secretly and will let him keep believing this rumor.”
And Z keeps hitting on him and eventually RT is like “gosh I don’t want to get sex murder sued by another subordinate but I really want to bang” and then they do and then Z is like “why doesn’t he want to marry me I better keep hitting on him at work.”

Then RT’s dad/CEO is like “I better not prepare them for a big expensive job so they have no plan and have to pretend to be a couple” and the plan works. And they fail because they have no plan and suck at their job and break their cover as entrepreneurs by inviting the entire security/mercenary company to come hang out with them for a big party with the guy they are supposed be undercover for.

And after they fail then RT is like “maybe banging my employee and not doing my job is a bad idea” and starts avoiding Z. Then eventually RT almost gets killed and Z is like “we’re meant to be bro.” They never discuss that Z actually hasn’t slept with anyone in years and has been in love with RT the whole time. Apparently he was secretly visiting his dad who is in a coma every night and sleeping at the care facility for years, in case he wakes up from a coma in the middle of the night?

It ends with RT announcing at a company meeting that he’s promoting Z, which he didn’t talk to Z about, and also he’s proposing to Z, and also RT is getting a promotion too so he’s a boss of everyone now. So that whole “boss employee” line is just completely obliterated. And then Z is like “I’m the gay king you’re the gay queen” which makes no sense because RT is his boss and also they are vers so it doesn’t even make sense in a misogynistic way about sex roles?

Also apparently this is a crossover series with about 300 characters who don’t matter getting cameos and updates. Like at one point RT is like “Oh why is that mob boss from (other series) at the hospital with (other character we don’t care about from other series) while I’m here getting surgery?” Great update thanks definitely worth sticking in there.

Never Say Never is the second installment in the Sniper 1 Security ("S1S") series by Nicole Edwards, and focuses on Ryan "RT" Trexler and Zachariah Tavoularis, better known as Z. Let me just say it right now, because I cannot stress enough how much I LOVED RT and Z and their story. I am completely and head over heels in love with these guys. Not only are these two men sexy, gorgeous alpha males, but they are absolutely hilarious. With Never Say Never, Nicole Edwards gave her readers another brilliantly written and engrossing story, one that I know I will read again and again.

I honestly cannot say which of the two I loved more, because they both wormed their way deep into my heart. RT is the oldest son of Bryce Trexler, one of the founders of S1S, and he has pretty much been running the business by himself, although his father and Casper Kogan, the other founder of S1S, are still somewhat involved with the business, because Casper's oldest son, Connor has not stepped up to take on his responsibility (but the reasons why are for a story for another day). Thus, RT's life basically has become all work, especially after a particular incident, and no play. And this is where Z comes into play. Z is one of the field agents at S1S, and he has been working for the company for at least a decade, and during such time, Z also has been attracted to RT. Whereas Z is ready to go full steam ahead with their insane attraction and chemistry towards each other, RT uses work to head off that attraction...until one night when the sparks fly and then the two are forced to work together on a case. And this is where the sheer genius of Nicole Edwards' storytelling ability takes off and never lets you go.

I know many people found RT quite frustrating, but I understood where he was coming from and understood his hesitation...I mean he is the boss and Z is the employee, amongst other things. However, there did come a point in time where I was ready to shake him up too. Z...oh Z. Wow!! Z is just awesome. If I thought Beau taught Ethan it was ok to be loved and to love, then Z with all of his patience and love, did the same for RT. RT and Z...separate are absolutely stunning, but together...they are magnificent.

Never Say Never is a well written story with a great pace that keeps you wanting more, and trying to solve the mystery, which will not be done until it is the absolute right time, and then you will still be thrown for a loop. The characters are extremely well developed and, yes, all of the characters from the prior S1S and Southern Boy Mafia books, including The Walker Brothers, make appearances in this fantastic story. Bravo, Nicole Edwards on a job well done. I look forward to reading the next book in this series, as well as your other series.

Not sure yet what to think. On one hand I really liked the characters, especially Z. Althoug RTs hot-cold routine was a bit frustrating
Z should have let him grovel

On the other hand this was maybe the weakest story by Nicole Edwards I read so far.
The suspense part was not so well done as I expected and the character of RT was a bit hollow.

It seemed rushed and as if there was a certain lack of enthusiasm while writing

All in all an ok read but I expected more

I'm giving this 3.5 stars! This was my first Nicole Edwards book and I probably would have enjoyed it more if I knew more about the other characters. That being said, I still really liked it a lot!

I'm starting Kaleb today and I'm pretty excited about it.

Once Z and Ryan got together it was pretty hot!

This was book 2 in the "Sniper 1 Security" series. Ryan "RT" Trexler has devoted his entire life to his family’s security business. When the guy he has been dating Kevin for three years almost get two of the employees killed and blows the mission that they are he breaks up with him and his father Bryce and his business partner Casper fire Kevin he tries to sue the company for he vowels not to date another employee or get close to anyone else. Zachariah "Z" Tavoularis has worked for the company for ten years he is a big guy 6"7 and from Coyote Ridge he went to school with a few of the Walker brothers. Z has had a crush on RT for awhile and he was glad when he was no longer with Kevin but he knows that RT hasn't been happy and worked a lot. When these two go to Coyote Ridge for Jessie and Brendon's wedding the night before Z gets drunk trying to out drink Beau with Travis's help they get a room at AI these two get hot and heavy and it was hot, but RT regrets it. While on a job they have to pretend to be a couple and try to find a painting with some kind of code in it. This was a really good read and listen I loved both of these MC's Z was hot loyal and dangerous everyone thinks that he is a manwhore but he isn't. They spend more time together and its gets harder for RT to stay away from Z. This was a really good book with some of the character's from Ms. Edward's series in it. This book was well written and read with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading or listening to the next book in this series. I hope that she writes about Connor and Clay and the rest of the people that work at Sniper 1 Security. I also liked the narrators of this book.

DNF @ 15%. No rating.

There's a reason I usually stay away from romantic suspense books because the tastes of the majority are so far away from what I want in this subgenre that we're on two different planets. But this one had a surprisingly unique premise and the reviews were good so I went against my gut instinct and gave it a shot. Let's just say that I'm not surprised by the results and that's why I'm not rating this but I had to suffer through 15% of this story, so you should too.

So in Chapter 1, the Scooby Gang decides to go rescue a girl who was kidnapped by drug dealers after they had murdered her drug-stealing boyfriend. One of the guys asks if the group should bring the cops along. They decide: Nah. They don't need no cops making things boring for the Scooby Gang. So they go to rescue the girl. They bust into the house and some of the guys restrain the drug dealers. Our 'hero' Z doesn't wait for the drug dealers to all be accounted for and restrained. Instead, he goes to get the girl immediately. When he finds her, she's been crying and she's filthy because, you know - she's been a captive for 2 days. But Z takes the time to note to himself that she 'looks like a mess' because that's a worthwhile observation to make about A KIDNAPPING VICTIM.

Anyway, after noting her apparently surprising lack of photo readiness, Z has a bit of a problem because - oh noes...some of the drug dealers are making things difficult in the rest of the house and there's a concern that one of them might come into the room and hurt the girl. You know what would have prevented this possibility? If Z had helped to clear the entire house before going to get the girl. But then the drug dealers settle down and you'd think Z would quickly march the girl out of that room. Except - that would be boring. And you can't have boring when it comes to Z. So Z tells one of his fellow Scooby Doo members that a better way to get out of the room would be to get rid of the metal bars on the window and they'll climb through the window. I can hear you thinking 'taking the time to rip out the bars is really dumb and unnecessary' - but WAIT! Because it turns out that they're not going to just rip the bars out. No, no. Remember - it's all about FUN, FUN, FUN. So they decide to BLOW UP THE WINDOW AND BARS USING EXPLOSIVES. Is anybody seriously hurt when glass and metal fragments explode in the small room where the girl and Z are standing? Of course not because that wouldn't be fun.

By the way - the entire process of getting the explosives, setting them up, doing the explosion and then clearing the broken bits from the window and then having Z (a 6 foot something, 200+ lbs guy) climb out of the window would have taken approximately 10,000 times longer than just walking out of the room. Anyway, then they all pile into the cars and drive away with the girl.

"Wait!" I hear you shout. "But...what about the drug dealers who have committed murder and kidnapping?!?" Yes, that's right. The Scooby Gang just leave the gang members in the house and they say they'll call the cops about the situation later.

All I can say is that I feel incredibly sorry for that poor girl, who was unknowingly judged for daring to not look picture perfect when being rescued from her kidnapping, then she nearly got blown up during the rescue and she might never get justice for the crimes done to her because the morons who rescued her didn't get the cops involved until the drug dealers have had ample opportunity to get away.

Then there was Chapter 2. This entire chapter consists only of two things:

a) The MCs obsessing over how hot the other person is
b) The MCs talking about a million different side characters, who I don't know and don't care about

Suffice it to say that by the time I reached Chapter 3, I'd had enough and it's clear that Nicole Edwards and I have very, VERY different desires when it comes to romantic suspense stories. On the other hand, the ridiculousness in this story was at such a high level that it did give me a good laugh, so there's that.

This was only ok for me. I was never sold on the narration - they were all so flat to me and then the plot was weird. I didn't really even understand what the whole deal was with the painting the team was hired to get. There is this painting that the government has known existed for what I can assume is a long time - since it was created. Why all of a sudden is this painting such a big deal to EVERYONE?!?!? Maybe I wasn't paying close enough attention, which I admit is possible because, well because, and everyone was making this seem like they were saving the world from an asteroid the drama and seriousness was so high.

Frankly there was too much going on. When the story started with the boyfriend getting fired and dumped, I assumed the rest of the story would actually have something to do with that, like he was going to do something to get revenge. And nothing. He is mentioned, but is never seen again. So why did that even need to be a plot point on page? Then there is the painting, and then a kidnapping. Yeesh, the story was trying to do too much and it was overwhelming.

I might try another book in this series but not sure when or if it will be MF or MM (pretty sure the other series is MF). 2.75 stars rounded to 3.

*ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review

This is the second book in the Sniper 1 Security series, although it is recommended to read in order, I had not read the first book, Wait For Morning, but managed to grasp the background of the Sniper 1 world without too much difficulty. This is RT and Z’s story.

Ryan Trexler (RT) is heading up the family security business so the pressure is on him but also causing him some pressure is the constant and heady attraction he has had for Z for nearly a decade!

Zachariah Tavoularis (Z) has worked for Sniper 1 security for years and in that time his yearning for RT from afar has been his private hell. Trying to keep things professional whilst his over eager imagination keeps throwing sexy images in his head has been a daily battle. He knows RT has an attraction for him but trying to get the stubborn man to act on his desires is a no go. That is until they are thrown together on a mission to recover a piece of pricey artwork.

As with all Nicole Edwards’ books you know you are in for one hell of a ride. There were a lot of names and family hierarchy to get to know and even though a family chart was provided at the beginning it was a little difficult flicking back on the kindle to see who was who. I think if I had read the first book it would have been easier. However there were also characters from her other series which were included in this book – yes we had The Walkers included, yay! – so brand new fans to Ms Edwards might find this a complex read. But as a lifelong fan I found it relatively easy to fall into. I just love how she intermixes her different worlds. Also catching up with the Walkers is always good!

The chemistry between JT and Z was tantalising and kept me pushing for them to get it on! JT being hesitant due to his past relationship blurring the lines of business and personal. His ex, Kevin, had made a huge error of judgement due to his insecurities that almost cost JT and his family the business plus JT’s reputation. So I could understand his reluctance to act on his attraction to Z but at times I just wanted to push him! However when he took the plunge these two were smoking hot together. I loved Z and his sense of humour but I also loved his more sensitive side and how he hid his hurt that JT put him through.

The secondary characters (as I say there are a lot to get to know) were a delightful addition to the storyline. As with the Walkers I love how the older generation (Casper and Bryce) are so accepting of their children and their sexual preferences. It is good to read an m/m romance without the need for the hateful bigotry you get in other books. Yes I know that it happens but it’s nice to read without it sometimes.

Overall this was an in depth and involving read with plenty of lust, passion but also with sensitivity and love. Another great addition to the sexy work of Nicole Edwards and a different series to get hooked on. Four stars.

This is book two in the Sniper 1 Security Series !!
RT and Z ~~ HOLY HOTNESS !!!
I don't even know where to begin. This book was amazing. Nicole Edwards is one of my all time favorite authors. She knows how to yield that proverbial pen and always keeps you coming back for more. Again and again she dazzles me with her amazing story lines and off the charts characters. If you like suspense, with some seriously steamy romps between the sheets, you are going to die for this book. You will not be able to put it down.
And add in some M/M lovin' ~ Oh boy, hot hot hot
RT has been hurt in the past, and he trust no one with his heart. not even himself. He has also had an eye for Z for years but will never make that move because hes been there and done that and got hurt in the process and he see's Z and a love 'em and leave 'em kinda guy.
Z has been attracted to RT for years as well. Z is not the kind of guy who will push a man into something he isn't comfortable with, so he waits, and he hopes and yes he even hurts.
These characters are so well written, you are going to fall in love with both of them with the first chapter, if you weren't already from their appearances in book one. Two hot, sexy, well built, alpha men, come together with such a force, that it will knock you on your butt.
RT, as sexy as he is .... made me want to smack him in the head ... talk about thick headed ... and i mean the one up top you pervs ... but you still cant help but love him at the same time you want to punch him ....
Z, OH MY GOD I WANT ONE !!! I'm beyond in love with Z. hes just a whole lot of sexy awesome, with a great sense of humor, a beautiful smile and intelligence and wit, that every girl would want to bring home to momma .... boys too :)
I cant say enough how well written and captivating this book is. I could not put it down and ended up going to work on 2 hours sleep.
The grammar and spelling are spot on and the story line sucks you in and pulls you deep. I would absolutely recommend this book as well as book 1 in the series.
I would also recommend every series Nicole writes. shes just an amazing author and i'd read anything she put to paper/computer

I've been waiting for this book every since Brendon. I knew Nicole Edwards was planning to give us RT and Z's story, but the sizzle that leaped off the pages in Brendon, whoa - not disappointed at all.

“You need to remember, we’ve all been hurt in this life, but what we do with the pain is what counts.”

Yes, this new series living up to it's name. It is suspense, hot alpha males take charge to find missing persons, protect the innocent, and heat up your dreams. So, yes, this book delivered everything I expect from a Nicole Edwards novel and more. RT and Z's characters were two I really got wrapped up in. I really seemed to attach to Z. He is loyal, family oriented, and so tenderhearted. He truly loves BIG. I loved RT, but there were times in the book I wanted to give him a swift kick in the a$$. Thank goodness Trace did it for me. Both men need to overcome past hurts in their lives. When they finally get together, whoa - my kindle melted. However, they deserved their happily ever after.

If you enjoy some suspense with your romance, I wholeheartedly recommend this M/M romance. It's part of the series. However, Ms. Nicole's weaving of the story allows the reader to have enough information from other books for this one to standalone.

Let me start by saying, Romantic Suspense is my genre of choice. I love a good mystery and throw in some raunchy sheet time, and I’m all over it. Never Say Never was the perfect mix of romance and suspense. I don’t read a lot of MF fiction, so I missed book one. I enjoyed this title so much. I will definitely be adding Waiting for Morning to my TBR list.

RT is a big papa bear. Because of a workplace romance gone badly, he feels the need to keep Z at arm’s length. Fortunately, neither Z nor any of the Sniper 1 team is on board for that crazy idea. Z is perfect for RT. They pretty much balance each other out. And did I mention that I love a pair of alpha switches. ;-)

So while the guys are trying to not be together, they still have a job to do. An easy job goes to clusterfuck. I loved that the author had me suspecting everyone…just not the right one.

There is a great ensemble of characters. Nicole Edwards has set a stage with so many possibilities. Brothers coming home, management learning to delegate, and putting old snipers out to pasture are just a few of the subplots that really made this story enjoyable.

If you like your romance with a bit of mystery, meddling parents and sexy Alpha men, I can highly recommend Never Say Never.

What a mess

I read a bunch of the Alluring Indulgence a while back and Travis got me into reading M/M. But I wasn't sure I would even finish this book. There was so much extraneous detail in the beginning. Not sure what the visit to the AI cast was supposed to do for this story. The back and forth with Z and RT became boring and annoying. There was nothing suspenseful or exciting about any of their so-called missions. The details were absurd. They couldn't bring in more of their own employees for help, since they had them all show up at a fake party where the supposed bad guy had seen them. Then the bad guys were someone else entirely. They distracted trained guard dogs with dog bones and apparently, repairing a shattered elbow with pins is normally an outpatient procedure and he went home two hours after a three hour surgery!!?? I can suspend disbelief with the best of them but this was too absurd and snore-inducing. I really expected better.

3.5 stars.

I'll preface this by saying that I've read several of Ms. Edwards books (the walker brothers series) and loved them. This one fell a little short for me. I thought the first half was kinda slow, and I was able to easily put the it down several times because i couldn't seem to get into it.

Now, after the halfway point? Things started to come together for me and I had a much harder time walking away. ;)

I really liked "Z" throughout, he was a very sweet character, but also hot and snarky too. Ryan took a little warming up to for me because he frustrated the hell outta me at times. I will say that when these two were "on," they were pretty damn hot together.

It was also nice to briefly see some of the Walker family from the Alluring Indulgence series again as well.

Overall, a good read but not my favorite from this author.

Audio: One of the 3 narrators, is awful, incredibly slow and talked like a robot. I had to stop the audiobook and just completion reader mode. Also, why do you need 3 narrators?? Hire one good one and be done with it. Is not like their voices were much different.

Story: Even after shutting down the narrator, the story was equally awful. It was a little all over the place and like they tried to jam all of the characters on another series into this one. Incredibly repetitive, and the MCs have known each other for over 6 years but they are still denying their interest for 50% of the book. Lame plot on top of lame romance. Finally, because there is a gay couple, doesn't mean one is a "queen" and one a "king", that hetero idea needs to stop when it comes to sexuality!!!!! Hope you enjoy more than I did, Happy Readings!

Loved this book along with the characters Z & RT. I loved Z from the start, RT... I wanted to give him a knock or two throughout the book, lol. But I can see why he was the way he was though. It was a great suspense read also heartwarming moments, a heartbreak moments( I cried a couple times) & also with hot sex!! Hehe what's not to read? A TBR

What can I say .. I love Nicole Edwards and her amazing characters. I was so glad to read the journey of RT and Z as they really needed their own story. This was another brilliant book - highly recommend ❤️

I didn’t get it. The premise, backstory, mystery’s, or whatever you may want to call it was just bad. I don’t have any other way to put it. Some of the story was good when the MCs finally got together, “hot.” But getting there was a big “yawn”... 2.5 stars

I hate to admit it but I was bored through a big chunk of this book. It took forever to get anywhere plot and romance both. If I had to hear the characters telling themselves why they couldn't be together one more time I was gonna scream.

Just wasn't feeling the chemistry between the leads, and the narrators weren't distinct enough to bother having different ones.

Nicole Edwards writes fantastic books; there hasn’t been one that I haven’t enjoyed. She’s definitely the Queen of menage, but she’s also one of my go to authors for M/M reads and the solid writing and fantastic character development in Never Say Never is one of the main reasons that I can’t get enough of her hot alpha males who fight hard and play even harder.

“Never Say Never” - it’s definitely a good motto to live by, and for Zachariah “Z” Tavoularis, it’s one that allows him to weather the storm that his long time crush and boss, Ryan Trexler, forces him to go through as RT fights his attraction to Z because he refuses to mix business with pleasure ever again after the debacle that occurred three years ago with Kevin. But the heart and body want what they want and as much as Ryan forces himself to not allow emotions/lust to influence his decisions, Z’s pull is too much for him to combat, but if Ryan doesn’t get out of his own head, it might just ruin the best thing to ever happen to him before it ever really begins.

Most of the time, I’m a first person point of view reader; I don't usually feel like I get inside characters' heads when the story is written in third person, but Edwards always manages to reveal everything to readers through her meticulous character evolvement. Readers actually learn more about Z than his co workers and friends know about him because he’s such a private person so they’ve had to establish their own views on his life, which are definitely a misrepresentation of who Z is and even Ryan is guilty of this skewed view.

The secondary story line is the whole reason Ryan and Z are forced to face their feelings for one another, and it’s a great backdrop for them to consider what risks they’re willing to take in order to have the man they want.

Z and Ryan definitely sizzle when they're together; they’re both control freaks, so it’s interesting to see how they both attempt to top from the bottom. The way Edwards writes their sexual encounters as well as their lust filled foreplay is enough to make any reader weak in the knees and wet in the panties.

I can’t fault Ryan for his uneasiness in pursuing a relationship with Z even one of a sexual nature. Edwards definitely makes it clear where Ryan is coming from, but that doesn't mean his actions didn't frustrate the heck out of me. His hot and cold demeanor and the pain it caused Z definitely didn’t sit well with me.

I have to say that I love Z and everything that makes him who he is; he’s an incredibly trustworthy and caring man who everybody wants to be around because he has a certain charisma about him that pulls people to his side.

Never Say Never is a sexy, angsty and suspenseful read whose main and secondary characters know how to have a good time and get the job done. I was rooting for Ryan and Z from the very beginning, but I knew that Ryan was going to have to work things out for himself before he woke up to what he was missing out on by resisting Z’s charms.

I can’t wait to see which alpha is up next!

Never Say Never is book #2 in Nicole Edwards Sniper 1 Security Series, it's also an M/M read so if that is your genre of choice then this book is definitely one for you. This is Ryan (RT) Trexler and Zachariah (Z) Tavoularis's story.

RT has a big responsibility in The family run Security company "Sniper 1" which his father and friend started years ago, he is left running the company and training to take over very soon, RT takes his job to the extreme leaving no time fir personal enjoyment.
Being hurt and burnt in a past relationship with a former worker RT swears off "office romances" that is until the tension he so believes he is hiding from everyone about his feelings towards fellow worker and friend Z gets to be too much. His acting and denial soon comes to a head when the source of his fantasies realizes and is about to call his bluff and show him just how much they have in common.

Z has been working for Sniper 1 for many years he's an extremely dedicated and loyal worker best in the field, always the one to crack jokes and make the best out of life Z is a favorite to be around: what none sees is deep down he is hiding something that no one not even his closest friends and co-workers know. Z has been lusting for his friend/boss for years but had never let on knowing how RT is so closed off and against mixing business with pleasure but soon things take a turn and let's just say @Things Heat Up Fast."

Owners Bryce and Casper step in and send both Rt and Z on a mission together with hopes of them solving this big case and also pushing them both together seeing that the chemistry between them is off the charts and both RT and Z are about to test their acting skills to the max.

"They want us to act as a couple"
"Is that really it?" Z asked, his eyes narrowing. "Your ol' man wants you to hook up with me? I knew he liked me, but damn. This is a surprise. Think he'll invite me to dinner?"

That statement is the beginning of a whirlwind relationship that will having you pulling your hair out , screaming, falling in love needing an ice cold shower you name these two go through it and u was right there with along fir the ride.

Nicole Edwards did a brilliant job with this story it flowed beautifully and I've once again fell in love with two more of her characters.
I've long ago gave up count because each book she writes I find myself loving all that much more and this was no exception I absolutely loved this story and highly recommend it.

The tittle to this story
"Never Say Never" has such a huge impact but I won't ruin it for you, you will just have to read it to see for yourself.

Never Say Never was my first foray into the romantic entanglements of a same sex couple and they don’t come much sexier or complicated than the delicious alpha-male filled Sniper 1 security team or in this particular instance- Ryan and Z.

Z is written to perfection, with his distinguished charm and cheeky charisma lending him the cover of a playful no-commitments type of man but it is when he finally let his guard down around Ryan or RT as he’s known that Z’s character took on a sublime level of depth and compassion and romance and some incredibly hot x-rated alpha bedroom show and tell.

When they are thrown together into an untenable situation it’s up to Z to prove to Ryan how amazing they could be together whilst also working a case.

How these two characters interact with one another had me smitten from the get go. RT has been burned in the past and as such has some pretty formidable shields erected to keep everyone at a distance and none more so than his devilishly handsome employee Z. Where Z is quirky and instantly likable, RT remains distant and removed but he is ultimately, one of the most vulnerable and caring and beautiful characters, he simply hides his softer side better but what better man to uncover those intriguing layers and hidden coves than Z?

'Z was toeing off his boots, then tugging off his jeans.
Fucking hell.
Standing before him was six foot seven inches of prime alpha male, wearing nothing but a pair of black boxer briefs and a gorgeous grin. Ryan’s mouth dried up like the Sahara Desert.
“You goin’ in like that?” Z asked, pointing at Ryan by tipping his beer bottle toward him.”’

Nicole Edwards is a master (or mistress?) of her craft. I literally haven’t read a book or come across a set of characters that I didn’t instantly fawn all over and the fact that she got to pop my M/M cherry with Never Say Never, I’m so happy. She gave me a compelling storyline with two of the hottest, most sensitive but kick-ass alpha heroes I’ve ever encountered and as such has me a little addicted to M/M books. This is a terrific series and it’s just getting better and more diverse as each book moves along. I’m so excited for the third book but also a little morose that I can’t read this one for the first time all over again but what I can do is re-read it and re-live every exciting, scandalously hot and romantically sweet moment between these two fantastic men.

First of all, thank God for Willis Carrier! If not for his inventing the air conditioner, I might have gone up in flames reading this book. As it was, there was no hope for my melted panties.

In all seriousness, I believe this book is one of Ms. Edwards' best yet. I had a hard time connecting to the characters in Book 1 of the S1S, so I was a bit nervous coming into this book. It broke my heart not to utterly and completely love a Nicole Edwards book. Turned out, there was no need to worry. This book grabbed hold of me and wouldn't let go. I was, literally, so deep into the RT and Z's love story that, had I not had another ARC waiting on me to start, I probably would've turned back and re-read the book. I was so engrossed, I wasn't ready for it to end. That's how good it was. I may not have been able to re-read it immediately, but it's definitely on my list of books to come back to revisit.

I effing loved Z. Like for real, loved him in an almost-wish-he-wasn't-gay way. The guy was so easy and fun and real. Sure, he had secrets, but they had to do with his private life, not him as a person. As a person, he was as real and honest as they come.

Even though I wanted to punch RT in his man parts quite a few times for being an idiot, I ended up loving him, too, in all his redeemed glory. His work ethic was over the top, and he used it as an excuse to not get too close to others. But Z was a temptation RT was having a hard time resisting, and I loved reading as he succumbed to temptation. I also loved the transformation he made as a person because, let's face it, the dude needed a break and some good lovin'.

As usual, the author used a very effective third person alternating pov. It was hot, it was romantic, and it was very well-written. l am serious when I say it's up there with her best of the best. There will be no hesitation on my part when the next book releases. I just can't say enough about how much I enjoyed this book.

Highly recommended M/M read!
