I added some details to the topic header, so your book might be recognized from that description alone. Many members only read the headers.
Feel free to update it by clicking the small "edit" link after the header. This only works on the full Desktop website - not the Mobile website or app. (On the Mobile website, there's a "Desktop version" link at the bottom of the page.)
- What might be the crime? Or is it just that the main character writes crime novels (about _____)?
- Is the story set in Japan or are the characters Japanese?

I think it was a crime novel. What I do remember is that the main character was a writer, always relying on the same plot. Not taking any new chances. He had found his formula. He was growing old and was married but because he was growing old he desired the body of young woman. Their freshness and youthfulness.
The reason I'm looking for the name of the book is because it had a beautiful description of being married for a long time and because of this text I walked up to my future wife and asked her if she wanted to marry me. We are now celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and I would love to find the text I read. So thanks for the help.
