Thanks so much!

Thanks so much!"
That should just be general etiquette on any thread.

THIS LOOKS AWESOME!
I fourth it! Into the Drowning Deep ! Or fifth it - I scanned the replies but I may have missed someone else's fourthing.
It looks bone-chilling! I like horror novels with female main characters, especially if they're written like real women. I'm rather claustrophobic at times, so the idea of sinking so low in a tin can with nothing between you and death but the wall of metal around you just gave me the willies and maybe I should go outside and take some deep breaths...

Thanks so much!"
I agree, but apparently the folks who designed the mobile app for Goodreads didn't think it was that important. I can only do that when posting from my laptop, or at least using the Chrome browser on my tablet.

Just put book:book title inside square brackets. For example...
[ book: Gone with the wind ] (without the spaces). This works with many titles but not all.
Will show as:
Gone with the Wind

Mira Grant is great at writing women, and she tends to include a lot of diverse characters besides. Her Feed series are some of my favorite zombie books.

if it doesn't end up as the group read, i will buy the kindle or another copy and buddy read it with u

I would do a buddy read if it doesn’t win as well.

I don't think it sucked, but it was in no way one of the 'best of the year' as all the 'lists' made it out to be. It was a great subject idea that missed the mark in subpar writing and plot.

Good to hear that it "didn't suck", seeing as how I just got it at the second-hand bookstore.

You can count me in , too. :) That is on my TBR list, and I even own a copy. Don't ask me why I haven't read it yet.

I thought it was decent, but to me it’s much more of a thriller/mystery than horror. Along the lines of Gone Girl, Woman in Cabin 10, Girl on the Train, etc etc etc.

It was OK, but in no way did it live up the hype. The plot and the writing just aren't that strong. Right after I read Final Girls I read Meddling Kids which was right up there on all the same 'best horror book' lists. It was better than FG, but only slightly. In both cases, I think people got too caught up in the premises of the books, which sounded awesome, but overlooked the fact that they weren't written all that well.

what I find interesting with a lot of books ive come across and read the story has been fantastic ive really enjoyed it and then hear from over people- oh I wont read that the writings terrible I think its terrible . I think its odd wher when I read his books I don't seem to notice the writing just the story and how addictive the plots are , I thin the only time ive found odd writeing was when I was reading Delores claighborn and storm of the century by steven king where he wrote the accents the people had where the plot of the books where set

THANK YOU for 2nd-ing Richard Laymon ! I personally would like to read Dark Mountain as I have it for Kindle AND audio and can do both at the same time, but really, ANY Laymon would be great.
A LOT of good nominations here, but (sadly) I can never participate when the books that win are hardcover/brand new/recently released....I live in Quebec and there are no English bookstores or libraries, so I need to order books - it is the only way. NEW books? I RARELY have the $$$- so, I try to 're-discover' the more classic authors that I SHOULD have read by now and who have cheap back catalogues on Kindle at this point! ---Jen from Quebec :0)

Lol, I just started and they are all Brits taking a long walk in northern Sweden. Maybe both are fake (accents, setting) and they know Americans won’t notice.
