SOLVED. Children's picture book that my 5 yr old needs help finding. animals fool thief with fake goose. [s]

Looking for a book my 5 yr old son has read. He says it's about a thief/burglar that was going to steal some animals but the animals tricked him into thinking there was a pink shiny goose buried in some mud. That's about as much as I can gather from him. TIA

Rick, I put a little more info into your thread title. Is this a picture book with words under the picture or does your 5 yo read at an advanced level--and if he does, what level?

It would be a picture book with words yes. He reads at an average level I guess.

Thank you so much Kris. Just googled it and got a very loud YES!!! his sister was trying to say he made it up but he was adamant. He must have read it at school as we don't have that here. Anyway thanks again 😊

It was what the ladybug heard next. He has a few of her books. stickman, gruffallo and the rhyming rabbit but not that one. Anyway it's on order, he must have really enjoyed it to remember it so vividly. Thanks for your help
