The book was kind of a road trip when a group of the kids have to make a long journey out of London. Driving me nuts trying to remember. Anyone know it?

The book you are looking for could be one of the Borrible Trilogy. It's been a long time since I've read them, so I can't say which:Part 1: The Borribles
Part 2: The Borribles Go For Broke
Part 3: Across the Dark Metropolis
ETA: Should be part one.
