Rachel | 6 comments I read this in elementary school, sixth grade I believe so it’s appropriate for that age group.

All I really remember is what I’ve put in the title of this post, but I remember loving it so much. I think there’s some sort of tragedy in there, but I don’t know for certain. Also, perhaps it’s surviving on a boat in the middle of the ocean and not an island?

I really don’t have much, so this may be a wild goose chase.

Thanks in advance!!

It's been a while since I read Robinson Crusoe but I think it was more like he helps Friday than the other way round.

Dee (austhokie) | 638 comments FWIW, the tragedy in the Cay is that the ship that the little boy and his mom is on is hit by a torpedo - during WW2 and it sinks (IIRC)

Same here. But I think Friday saves his life...? At some point? But yeah, originally he does save Friday's.

But they do not meet until his twenty-fourth year on the island: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friday_... so he would have been over thirty so not exactly young boy.

mairiachi (twicebaked) @Ayshe - true. Hadn't thought of that. It's probably not Crusoe then :)
