stories with built-in quiz/riddle/questions

Hi, does anybody know books that include riddles/quizzes in the storyline? Something like for example a treasure hunt (maybe Indiana Jones like?) or people held captive have to solve riddles to find a way out/free themselves? Maybe there is a very good description of the riddle or even a little image/diagram/pattern shown??

I know this is a very specific feature for a book, but I thought maybe anybody has some ideas and suggestions for me...

Disembodied Bones really great series this is the second book but can be read as a stand alone. There aren't really any character crossovers it's more of a "same world" thing. I figured I'd put that in cause I hate reading a series out of order.
