2. No I wanted to completely read The Girl with All the Gifts and I only read half. My biggest distractions were work and my daughter's dance competition.
3. I had fun with the games. I would have more fun if the week was more relaxing.
4. So the 2 I finished and the 1 I'm halfway through are all great and surprising books (or at least so far for The Girl With All the Gifts). So the ones I finished were The Picture of Dorian Gray and Ashley's War: The Untold Story of a Team of Women Soldiers on the Special Ops Battlefield.
5. The only thing that would make it better for me is if it didn't straddle a month end for work purposes. It is just busier for me. The other thing would be a whole Sunday instead of stopping and starting in the middle of the Sunday.
6. yes always

2. I definitely exceeded my reading goals. I started off the challenge ready to go, but I ran into some BIG distractions with a trip to the ER on ( I think) day one, and then excruciating pain that left me curled up in bed ....I couldn't even distract myself with reading it was so bad. Then I was on some painkillers that left me picking up the books and just laying there with the book in hand and my eyes closed lol. It was really horrible. Definitely feeling much better now and off the painkillers ( those suck- what an awful feeling 😕) and was able to cram in my books starting Friday night and finishing up this morning early. So yea, I'm going with exceeded. I'm just happy I read anything at all because I really felt like I was going to let my team down......
3. Ummmm. It was not a fun week, but the read a ton, and especially being team captain, kept me busy and engaged and thats a great thing!!
4. Dark Places by Gillian Flynn. This is by far my favorite book that I have read by her. It definitely kept me guessing until the end and I'm kind of left wondering why this wasn't a bigger deal than Gone Girl?? I tried watching the movie last night but fell asleep so thats on my to-do list for this evening. My other two reads: I'm begging everyone ....stay away from Starvation Heights: A True Story of Murder and Malice in the Woods of the Pacific Northwest, omg, lol.......sooooo boring, but it had the potential to be such an interesting story. The writing was just awful. And I'm not a big fan of poetry, its a little too intense for me, so I'm glad I checked it off my TBR but Milk and Honey just wasn't my thing
5. Can't really think of any suggestions. I love the team challenges and the games, I was disappointed that I didn't participate in the games, but I just couldn't do it this time. I think I managed to sneak the cover challenge in, but I had to really stop and give myself permission to not feel like I had to complete everything.
6. This is my second read a thon, and I definitely plan on participating in them again. So much fun!!

Thank you Sophie😊... I'd go back and do the games but I was distracting myself by peeking at everyones answers lol😂

Here are a few questions to wrap everything up:
1. How many books did you finish? How many pages did you read?
I read 5 books which is two to three over my average. 1232 pages but one of them was a graphic novel.
2. Did you meet your reading goals? What were your biggest distractions?
I passed my reading goals. I'm lucky that I had few distractions
3. Did you have fun? What were your favorite parts?
I did have fun. My favorite part was the 5 things about you. I'd interact more but was busy reading!
4. What was your favorite read of the read-a-thon?
The Child Finder hands down
5. Do you have any suggestions for how to make the read-a-thon better for next time? What would you like to see more of in future read-a-thons?
I do feel a bit burned out, but that was entirely self inflicted.
6. Do you plan to participate in future group read-a-thons?
Yes!

1. How many books did you finish? How many pages did you read?
4 books, 858 pages
2. Did you meet your reading goals? What were your biggest distractions?
I'm happy with what I accomplished, especially since stuff typically comes up during the read-a-thons. This was surprisingly calm! I didn't have any major distractions but I did have to go to work (the horror) and my husband likes to watch TV together.
3. Did you have fun? What were your favorite parts?
I liked reading shorter books this time. It made me feel accomplished to check off books.
4. What was your favorite read of the read-a-thon?
I ended up liking The Ocean at the End of the Lane more than I expected.
5. Do you have any suggestions for how to make the read-a-thon better for next time? What would you like to see more of in future read-a-thons?
I think it would be nice to include a whole sunday, like someone else said. I would almost like to have it 8 days long just so it could include two weekends :D
6. Do you plan to participate in future group read-a-thons?
Of course!
4 books, 858 pages

Of course!

Books : 2 , Number of pages: 812
Graphic Novels: 3, Number of pages: 734
2. Did you meet your reading goals? What were your biggest distractions? Yes, and Netflix was my distraction :P
3. Did you have fun? What were your favorite parts? I had fun, but maybe next time I should settle for just one book, because now I feel so tired that I don't think I will be reading anything the next week :D My favorite part were the games.
4. What was your favorite read of the read-a-thon? I really liked The Sun Is Also a Star
5. Do you have any suggestions for how to make the read-a-thon better for next time? What would you like to see more of in future read-a-thons? I really love the games and I would like to see more of them, but I can't think of any ideas :(
6. Do you plan to participate in future group read-a-thons?
Yes

I read 6 books (1 I had already started), total of 2102 pages.
I aimed to read my usual 2-3 books so I exceeded my expectations. My biggest distraction was a major assignment that was due on Thursday and various hospital appointments for my youngest son.
I had loads of fun - reading is my (not so) guilty pleasure amd I got to thoroughly indulge this week.
I had two favourite reads : Wraith by Joe Hill and The Penguin Lessons by Tom Michell.
Can't think of any suggestions for future read-a-thons.
I will definitely participate in the future - I'm looking forward it already.
Thank you for all the hard work that has gone into devising and putting together this read-a-thon.

9 Books, approximately 1600 pages.
2. Did you meet your reading goals? What were your biggest distractions? Mostly. I wish I’d finished one of my book club books and started the second this week, but it was nice to clear out several shorter books before hitting two huge ones. My distractions are mostly my 1&3 year olds, with a side of cleaning and exercise. My husband’s hours changed a lot in January and between that and a shared goal of exercising for a half hour daily, I haven’t quite come up with a great routine yet.
3. Did you have fun? What were your favorite parts? Yes. I liked the group challenge the best.
4. What was your favorite read of the read-a-thon? Bones of the Earth, perhaps. Though most of the others were series reads and I expected them, Bones of the Earth was a surprise.
5. Do you have any suggestions for how to make the read-a-thon better for next time? What would you like to see more of in future read-a-thons? I’d be curious to see a challenge that takes into account page totals.
6. Do you plan to participate in future group read-a-thons? Yes.
1. How many books did you finish? How many pages did you read?
I read 4 books, for a total of 1388 pages! This is literally the most books I've ever read in a week, and considering that it took me from Jan 29-Feb 1 to finish one, I really crammed in those last three. They were shorter, but I feel like I really read them, not just skimmed or speed-read.
2. Did you meet your reading goals? What were your biggest distractions?
I had very low expectations -- I imagined I would finish 2 books. Then I saw a couple people in our group finishing 11-13! With my husband in the middle of tax season and a quiet weekend, I felt comfortable pushing through. Work was obviously a distraction... how nice it would be to just stay home and read all day!
3. Did you have fun? What were your favorite parts?
I had a lot of fun! I'm very goal-oriented, so being able to let my group know that I completed a book was very satisfying. I appreciated being able to cheer on my teammates as well.
4. What was your favorite read of the read-a-thon?
Everything I read was so different! I was pleasantly surprised with Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, as I'm typically not a nonfiction reader. I also really got into the romance and history in Along the Infinite Sea.
5. Do you have any suggestions for how to make the read-a-thon better for next time? What would you like to see more of in future read-a-thons?
This was my first one and I thought it was great fun! I don't know if it needs to be any longer than it is... I enjoyed it so much, but I'm definitely taking a day or two off from reading after pushing so hard to get books read. I'm a bit burnt out!
6. Do you plan to participate in future group read-a-thons?
Absolutely! I think I'd even volunteer to be a team captain (ohhh the spreadsheets!).

1. How many books did you finish? How many pages did you read? I finished 6 books, the first of which I was halfway through when the challenge began. Total pages was 1570.
2. Did you meet your reading goals? What were your biggest distractions? I far exceeded my goal of 4 books. My average is 2 per week so I'm very proud of myself. I was fortunate in that it was a slow work week so I had plenty of down time.
3. Did you have fun? What were your favorite parts? It was a lot of fun. I liked the side challenges, especially the one where we learned about one another. What an interesting group this is!
4. What was your favorite read of the read-a-thon? My favorite read this week was Unaccustomed Earth I love her writing style and short stories aren't usually my favorite so I liked that the last few were interconnected so that the reader is able to spend more time with the characters in those stories.
5. Do you have any suggestions for how to make the read-a-thon better for next time? What would you like to see more of in future read-a-thons? I know it would be more work but I think it would be fun to incorporate various bonus points to the challenge in addition to the number of books read. Maybe an additional point for books over a certain length or that meet specific challenge topics?
6. Do you plan to participate in future group read-a-thons? Absolutely!

I finished four books, which amounted to 1225 pages.
2. Did you meet your reading goals? What were your biggest distractions?
I was hoping to finish two, so definitely! My biggest distractions were catching up on everything I couldn't do while sick last month, and then my poor little Spider has been sick since Wednesday night.
3. Did you have fun? What were your favorite parts?
I did - I really enjoyed the group challenge this time, it was the best one so far IMO.
4. What was your favorite read of the read-a-thon?
Born a Crime: Stories From a South African Childhood, hands down. It's brilliant.
5. Do you have any suggestions for how to make the read-a-thon better for next time? What would you like to see more of in future read-a-thons?
I'd also like it to include a whole Sunday, and also for it to just start at x o'clock for everyone, regardless of where they live (so a staggered start). I know that when I asked about it this time, I was told that it was fine to do that, but it would be nice to have it 'official' (I like to follow the rules!).
I also like the idea of more page-based goals. It's definitely geared towards finishing books, which is nice, but it can be discouraging if you want to read a doorstop.
6. Do you plan to participate in future group read-a-thons?
For sure.
Thanks to all of the Mods for organising another great read-a-thon, and thanks to all of the Team Leaders for keeping us all in line!

I finished 14 books with page count of 3291
2. Did you meet your reading goals? What were your biggest distractions?
Yes I think I met them. Biggest distraction was hubby and kids.
3. Did you have fun? What were your favorite parts?
Yes everything because I got read.
4. What was your favorite read of the read-a-thon?
not sure what one book was my favorite in this bunch as I had high expectations for some of them but the book fell short.
5. Do you have any suggestions for how to make the read-a-thon better for next time? What would you like to see more of in future read-a-thons?
It would be nice to see some type of prize or trophy badge for winners.
6. Do you plan to participate in future group read-a-thons?
yes

2. Did you meet your reading goals? What were your biggest distractions? Meet goal, yes. Distractions, needing to get art done for art show coming up made me feel guilty reading.
3. Did you have fun? What were your favorite parts? It was fun but also a bit stressful. I read what I felt I needed to read not what I wanted.
4. What was your favorite read of the read-a-thon? The Hearts of Horses.
5. Do you have any suggestions for how to make the read-a-thon better for next time? What would you like to see more of in future read-a-thons? Have some really fun different choices and make them so everyone could do them once...like: I don't know...read a chapter while hopping on one foot or on exercise equipment or read a poem out loud while dancing with someone.
6. Do you plan to participate in future group read-a-thons? Sure

2. I did not meet my goals, but a sick kid towards the end was a little more important.
3. Of course I had fun! I just love the team spirit and working with others to complete the tasks.
4. What If?: Serious Scientific Answers to Absurd Hypothetical Questions
5. No suggestions. You mods have been doing a great job with these.
6. Of course I will. I am usually harassing you all about doing them, lol

2. I did not meet my goals, but a sick kid towards the end was a little more important.
3. Of course I had fun! I just love the team spirit ..."
Hope your little one is feeling better Jennifer> Sometimes life just happens, and 2 1/2 books is impressive for a mama with a sick kiddo

I finished four books which totaled 1390 pages.
2. Did you meet your reading goals? What were your biggest distractions? Yes I did meet my goal. My biggest distraction was work.
3. Did you have fun? What were your favorite parts? I had a blast! My favorite parts was working together as a team . It was really great to interact with other group members.
4. What was your favorite read of the read-a-thon? I really loved Behold the Dreamers and The Girl Who Played with Fire.
5. Do you have any suggestions for how to make the read-a-thin better for next time? What would you like to see more of in the future? I agree with those who, said they would like to,have a whole Sunday to read.
6. Do you plan to participate in future group read -a-thons? Yes I do! I can't wait for the next one!

2. I had planned to finish we wish to inform you as well as scarlet. starting back at college was a big time suck, as well as draining to the point where I didn't feel like reading in my free time and ended up binging the flash on Saturday
3. I had a lot of fun! I loved the group challenge
4. cinder definitely!
5. I feel like syncing up the readathon with the challenge week would be good. so starting monday 12 am and ending Sunday 11:59 pm
6. yea!!

And I like the idea of two weekends. Though I often get even less read on weekends because we do a lot of family activities, grocery shopping, two classes of gymnastics etc.

I finished 3 and a half books, for a total of just over 1000 pages. I don't know the exact number.
2. Did you meet your reading goals? What were your biggest distractions?
My goal for every readathon is just to read as much as possible, and I think I did that. It ended up being the worst possible week for me to have a readathon going on. I had a staff meeting one evening, and a work obligation that eats up at least half my day every other weekend, so that impacted this weekend. I also post to my blog twice a week after work, so that cuts into my reading time in the evenings.
3. Did you have fun? What were your favorite parts?
It was fun, but I didn't quite feel as engaged with my team as usual. I liked that it was less pressure to have to check-in often, but for me that also lost some of the team spirit. That might have just been me though, since I had a lot of time commitments this week. But huge thank you to Tabitha for taking the lead on our team and coordinating everyone's shelves!
4. What was your favorite read of the read-a-thon?
Definitely Noteworthy. The other books were all pretty mediocre to be honest.
5. Do you have any suggestions for how to make the read-a-thon better for next time? What would you like to see more of in future read-a-thons?
I know we do the Bingo games a lot, but I really like those. I also liked the game where we had to add the next book alphabetically, linked to the previous one in some way. It was fun. I always enjoy book tags too.
My only suggestion is more clarity about the timing. I'm sure I'm being really annoying complaining about it, and I honestly thought it was just my problem, but then I saw a few other comments that seemed to suggest confusion. I completely agree with the suggestion to run it from the time you wake up to the time you go to bed. It's straightforward and flexible, and still makes sure everyone has pretty much the same amount of time. It's great for me to have readathons over 2 weekends, especially since every other weekend I have work to do that eats at least half of one day.
I also was not a big fan of the "board game" individual challenge that we've seen in the past, so I was glad to get a break from that one.
6. Do you plan to participate in future group read-a-thons?
Yes, and hopefully they will be on weeks where I have more time!

I have no idea how but I managed to finish 9 books with a total of 2416 pages. Some were short and some were longer. Well, I had a weeks vacation, so that gave me extra time to read, but I still didn't expect to finish 9 books.
2. Did you meet your reading goals? What were your biggest distractions?
Since I was off work the entire week there weren't any major distractions, and I don't like calling my husband a distraction :-)
I read more than expected.
3. Did you have fun? What were your favorite parts?
I always enjoy the read-a-thons. I liked that this was a completely new game.
4. What was your favorite read of the read-a-thon?
No doubt Beartown. Fredrik Backman is my new crush... Sorry Gaiman!!
I also really enjoyed We Have Always Lived in the Castle because it was such a different read from my normal books.
5. Do you have any suggestions for how to make the read-a-thon better for next time? What would you like to see more of in future read-a-thons?
I didn't have a problem with the timing of the read-a-thon but it seems to be a general problem with all the read-a-thons that there's some confusion, so I think the suggestion of starting it x o'clock no matter where you live or just simply say it starts sunday morning when you wake up and finished next Sunday when you go to bed.
I also like the idea of adding maybe some bonus points for longer books or let books with more than 400 or 500 pages count towards two tasks and that way encourage not only reading short books.
6. Do you plan to participate in future group read-a-thons?
I've participated in them all so far, so why stop now :-)

4 books, with 3 I started before the read-a-thon (one was a doorstop audibook). So, no idea how many pages I read just for the read-a-thon.
2. Did you meet your reading goals? What were your biggest distractions?
I finished my reading challenge book that wasn't thrilling, so yes, I met my goals. I'd a day devolved to foster kitties where I wasn't at home, plus one kitty reserved which occupied me a lot, plus work. I'm surprised I succeeded to read some chapters the last weekend!
3. Did you have fun? What were your favorite parts?
As usual, it was nice and I liked some of the new games (and the old ones were still fun). The team, as usual, and the guess the cover. I didn't participate in the "5 facts", but enjoyed to learn more about everybody :)
4. What was your favorite read of the read-a-thon?
The Hero of Ages (Mistborn 3).
5. Do you have any suggestions for how to make the read-a-thon better for next time? What would you like to see more of in future read-a-thons?
I'm all with the 2 suggestions: starting when you wake up and have 2 weekends (I've little time to read the days I work, so 2 weekends would be nice).
6. Do you plan to participate in future group read-a-thons?
Yes, if I'm available.

2. Did you meet your reading goals? What were your biggest distractions? I didn't really have any goals this time. I have a hard time carving out time to read on the weekends because of my family.
3. Did you have fun? What were your favorite parts? I loved it! I liked all the interactions with the other participants. I had a great team, and games like '5 facts about you' were great to get know everyone.
4. What was your favorite read of the read-a-thon? my re-read of Hunger Games!
5. Do you have any suggestions for how to make the read-a-thon better for next time? What would you like to see more of in future read-a-thons? I'm not sure what changes I'd suggest at this time.
6. Do you plan to participate in future group read-a-thons? Life permitting, totally!

I finished 5 books. I have no idea on pages since 3 of my books were audio (2 started before the challenge) and one book was a serial read that I was behind on and then read 3-4 episodes a day. I do know that I had 20 hours of audio-books but I also listened at an increased speed so it was not really 20 hours of listening.
2. Did you meet your reading goals? What were your biggest distractions?
I think I did pretty good.
3. Did you have fun? What were your favorite parts?
I really enjoyed the team part. Everyone was able to read what they want while working towards a common goal. I really liked the variety of the challenge. Everyone could read books for hard prompts or easy ones.
4. What was your favorite read of the read-a-thon?
A Sudden Light/Garth Stein which I finished 10 minutes before the challenge ended!
5. Do you have any suggestions for how to make the read-a-thon better for next time? What would you like to see more of in future read-a-thons?
The only thing that was confusing was the start time. I think it made it confusing having it starting and stopping at noon Eastern time zone. I think the switch from am to pm adds extra confusion with having to figure out your own time zones . I really like others suggestion of starting in the morning of your time zone and finishing in the evening. Plus, I think we would learn more about everyone's time zones.
6. Do you plan to participate in future group read-a-thons? Yes, it was a lot of fun.

Also, give yourselves a HUGE round of applause. Over the week, team challenge participants read over 175 books! In one week! Wowza! That's amazing and doesn't include the books of members who weren't participating in the team challenge or books that couldn't count toward that challenge. You guys really did fantastic!

2. Did you meet your reading goals? What were your biggest distractions? I committed to 3-4 books so I did meet my goal. I would have really liked to have read 4 though. As for distractions, well, I read a lot at work so how much reading I get done depends on how much work I have to do in a given week. I had a little more work this week than I would have liked for a read-a-thon week but, meh, what can you do?
3. Did you have fun? What were your favorite parts? I always have fun with our read-a-thons. I love seeing so many people get enthusiastic about the challenges and pushing themselves to read more. It is exciting!
4. What was your favorite read of the read-a-thon? Dark Matter by Blake Crouch. I gave it 4/5 stars.
5. Do you have any suggestions for how to make the read-a-thon better for next time? What would you like to see more of in future read-a-thons? I like the suggestion of letting the start time work for wherever people live. We have such a diverse group here so it makes a lot of sense. Personally, I like the challenge of creating/finding new challenges. :D
6. Do you plan to participate in future group read-a-thons? Of course!

2. Did you meet your reading goals? What were your biggest distractions? My goals were succeeded! I planned to finish 2 books, and doubled that, so I am very pleased. Much more than I normally read in a week.
3. Did you have fun? What were your favorite parts? I very much enjoyed myself. The group game was fun, and my team was great (looks like all the teams did very well!). I also liked the other games, the bingo in particular.
4. What was your favorite read of the read-a-thon? All of them were great actually, solid four stars for all of them:) The most surprising one was Passing, just because I didn’t know so much about the book in advance.
5. Do you have any suggestions for how to make the read-a-thon better for next time? What would you like to see more of in future read-a-thons? I think it worked out well, creds to the mods and the team leaders for all their hard work.
6. Do you plan to participate in future group read-a-thons? Yes, it was lots of fun

Finished 2 I had started already, read 2 more, and read about a third of another 2. I stopped counting pages after 500, but that was pretty early on, so I'd guess at least 1000.
2. Did you meet your reading goals? What were your biggest distractions?
Absolutely! I wanted to finish 3 books and I finished 4. Biggest distraction is my toddler :)
3. Did you have fun? What were your favorite parts?
Yes! I loved this format, since it was so free.
4. What was your favorite read of the read-a-thon?
They were all so good! But maybe The Animators
5. Do you have any suggestions for how to make the read-a-thon better for next time? What would you like to see more of in future read-a-thons?
I thought it was great this way.
6. Do you plan to participate in future group read-a-thons?
Absolutely!
