question
Tarrick or Devak? Which is Endgame?
Gemini

I'm really curious which one do you think Matthew loves more? Even though it kills me to admit this because I know deep down their relationship is toxic! I honestly like Tarrick and Matthew more. I just feel they have a deeper connection!
Maybe it's because I'm convinced Devak still has feelings for Malarath. Frankly I just see him and Matthew as besties with eternal benefits. What does everyone else think?

I'm actually inclined to agree with you haha.
I'm more of a Devak fan than Tarrick's, but I do feel that Matthew has a stronger connection with Tarrick. They've been through a lot -- the good and the ugly.
I'm just dying for the sequel.

I'm just forewarning that this thing is littered with spoilers. Read at your own risk if you haven't finished the book.
I admit that Tarrick and Matthew is probably endgame. It's been heavily implied, etc etc [insert all the evidence that everyone already knows]
A part of my mind is literally hoping for all its worth that it ends up as the three of them somehow, but that would be just way too fricken good for this world. So I shall leave that be and cry when that dream is almost definitely crushed later on. X'D
Anyways, I think I will always be more of a Devak and Matthew shipper (which honestly wreaked my soul at the end of Sire when Devak supposedly died, so thank ILERTHA and Jex Lane that my baby is ALIVE! - but also curse Jex for killing him in the first place, and, RIP my soul, because I still love Jex's book).
I mean, the Tarrick and Matthew dynamic is surely interesting, and I would probably ship it as much as I do for Devak and Matthew except that one thing pretty much killed it for me on these two. The Stockholm syndrome thing makes it more interesting, and that's not even what bothered me - its that Matthew's love for Tarrick might have simply started because of the incubus' hold manipulation? At this point, its clearly taken on a life of its own and Tarrick can't stop it now even if he wanted to. But for that simple reason, the fact that Matthew's love could have been initially based only on manipulation, almost totally pushes me from this ship. I guess I can accept that they're probably end game, and will most likely be the most popular pair no matter how toxic or manipulation-based it is, but my heart will never fully be with them for just that one simple fact. Even if Tarrick lied back then about using a hold to manipulate Matthew's love, and it ends up being mostly real, I still don't think I could ever fully be on board.
It rips at my mind to think what messed up stuff will happen in Blood Prince (because at this point its pretty much guaranteed to be mind-fuckery).
Adding on a bit to Gemini, I was also thinking along that line with the Devak and Malarath thing. Considering how long they had been lovers before the Big Betrayal, I wouldn't be too surprised if Devak still had lingering feelings he suppressed and denied that would rise to the surface if he sees Malarath again in person. While I believe he will always be loyal to Matthew no matter what, I can see that Devak may have internal conflicts once they actually get close to killing the High King. What really got me thinking about this dynamic is how Jex ended the third book with Malarath's POV, and how Mr Creepy Lover (yes, that's my nickname for him - don't tell me it's not fitting) seems VERY intent on getting Devak back, even calling their reunion "inevitable". So I kept tossing that around in my head, and am really hoping that none of what I came up with will be even within the ballpark of being correct (which I will not share to save you from my horrors).
I've lost sleep over thinking about the next book (because honestly, I'm pretty much obsessed at this point) and I'm afraid of what will happen when I finally can download it on my Kindle. *Sigh* These next few waiting months will be awful... Nevermind the waiting YEARS it takes for the finished SERIES.
RIP BeMo fan's souls. <3 May we all love and hate Jex Lane, the wonderful and wicked creator of this terrible and terrific tale.
I rest my case.

Honestly with this series I don't see why it would have to be down to just one lover. Incubus man, not to mention Matthew is the son of the god of love and sex. Im hoping it ends with a harem or at least Devak and Horoto with Matthew. I honestly am disgusted by Tarrick and can't stand him being around Matthew. Nasty situation there.
I am concerned with Malarath and Devak tho, especially with how it ended in Broken, but honestly, Devak seems like a completely different person. Who knows what 2000 years as a guardian did to him or even what happened with him to make him change sides for Ilertha. I think the next books will have a lot more information to help us see what exactly is going on there. Im still holding out for him to stay with Matthew, regardless of who else joins the loves guild.
Also Horoto, omg please just let that man be happy, preferably with Matthew but yeah, whatever it takes.
Also please kill Prescott for what he did to Devak and Matthew...hate that man
