Karen Barber | 13297 comments Welcome all. Look forward (I hope) to a chatty team. Anyone have any BR possibilities, shall we try to get them done as a team?
I'll try to post some of my options for February reading in the next day or so.

message 3: by Natalie (new)

Natalie (esaria) | 4273 comments Checking in! c:

I don't have a huge amount of BRs planned at the moment (just A Wrinkle in Time for the 2nd and The False Prince for the 9th) so I'm open to more at this stage c:

If anyone has any books they want to BR on, let me know? Happy to join if I can get the book(s) c:

Michael (michjarv98) Hey guys!
How are yall?

Elizabeth Emily Browne (snakesandladderrs) | 2186 comments Hi team 👋.

Just checking in. I’m currently on my way home from a weekend away so once I’m there I’ll make a list of the books I would like to complete in February and post them on here😌.

How is everyone?

Karen Barber | 13297 comments All checked in - think that's a first for any team I've been on for the challenges.
Natalie, I saw you've set up a BR for A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle so I'll hop on that. I've got a bit of a backlog for NetGalley so want to try and see if any of them fit. Will try to join in BRs where I can as it's an easy way to pick up points.

Currently hoping to try and look at some of these:
White Chrysanthemum by Mary Lynn Bracht The Taste of Blue Light by Lydia Ruffles The Toymakers by Robert Dinsdale They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera The Alphabet of Heart's Desire by Brian Keaney The Perfect Girlfriend by Karen Hamilton People Like Us by Dana Mele The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah The Exact Opposite of Okay by Laura Steven The Mermaid and Mrs Hancock by Imogen Hermes Gowar
If anyone on the team has them and fancies a BR, they all need reading in February.

Elizabeth Emily Browne (snakesandladderrs) | 2186 comments Okay so I’ve had a look at my shelves and if I’m being completely honest I’m struggling a little with this one.

The only one I’ve chosen for definite so far is An Abundance of Katherines by John Green.

Ones I’d like to try and include if I can match them to any categories are:

The Cinder series by Marissa Meyer
The House of Silk and Moriarty by Anthony Horowitz
Carry on with the Harry Potter series (I’m on #3)
The Matched series (not sure who by)
Continue the Eragon series (Im on #2)

If anyone can help me out with categories for any of these I’d be much appreciated 😂♥️

message 12: by Siobhan (new)

Siobhan Quinlan | 2096 comments im about to start planning i got a planner and all for this month lol

message 13: by Karen (new)

Karen Barber | 13297 comments Elizabeth, the Cinder series you could get on romance/over 4 rating for book one - possibly books two and three - and book four has food on the cover.

message 14: by Karen (new)

Karen Barber | 13297 comments The house of silk works for ‘begins with t’ and there’s an edition of moriarty that is mostly red that could work.
Re Harry potter, look at covers and see if any feature the needed items.

message 15: by Elizabeth Emily (new)

Elizabeth Emily Browne (snakesandladderrs) | 2186 comments Thank you Karen!😌 I’m so excited for this challenge. I’m hoping I can get back on track with my reading challenge as I’m behind already😒.

message 16: by Elizabeth Emily (new)

Elizabeth Emily Browne (snakesandladderrs) | 2186 comments Siobhan. I treated myself to a moleskin diary from Waterstones to track the challenges... Is that bad?😂

message 17: by Siobhan (new)

Siobhan Quinlan | 2096 comments Elizabeth Emily wrote: "Siobhan. I treated myself to a moleskin diary from Waterstones to track the challenges... Is that bad?😂"

haha id have done the same if waterstones was open when i finished work lol

message 18: by Siobhan (new)

Siobhan Quinlan | 2096 comments The Telling by Alexandra Sirowy There's Someone Inside Your House by Stephanie Perkins The Raven Boys (The Raven Cycle, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater The Shadow of the Wind (The Cemetery of Forgotten Books, #1) by Carlos Ruiz Zafón Queen of Hearts (Queen of Hearts Saga, #1) by Colleen Oakes okay these are ones ive choosen so far for the challenge and i want to read The Shining (The Shining, #1) by Stephen King as well but it wont count as i read it in may last year so hasnt been a year

message 19: by Natalie (new)

Natalie (esaria) | 4273 comments I'm currently reading The Once and Future King INCREDIBLY SLOWLY (it's a pretty heavy read XD) so it will likely end up being finished in Feb/Mar. If I finish in Feb I should be able to use at least some of it towards the challenge, even if not the entire length of the book c:

Would probably like to read these in Feb too (that match the challenge criteria):
The Eye of Minds (The Mortality Doctrine, #1) by James Dashner The Giver (The Giver, #1) by Lois Lowry The Summer Queen (Eleanor of Aquitaine, #1) by Elizabeth Chadwick

@Karen: If I can find these, I'd be keen to join you:
The Toymakers by Robert Dinsdale They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera

@Elizabeth Emily; I'm up to Winter so if you get that far I'll BR that one with you XD

Karen Barber | 13297 comments So nice to have a team to chat with! This month was quiet...are there any particular dates that don’t work for anyone re the BRs? If not, I can request them through the month and we can hop in as available.
Natalie is pretty quick, and I can be😏

Elizabeth Emily Browne (snakesandladderrs) | 2186 comments Nope whenevers fine by me. Also the more in team buddy’s we do the better👌🏻 points points points 😄 I’m so excited

message 31: by Elizabeth Emily (new)

Elizabeth Emily Browne (snakesandladderrs) | 2186 comments What dates would you like to do the three books? - Siobhan:)

message 32: by Siobhan (new)

Siobhan Quinlan | 2096 comments i was going to start with theres someone in your house this week and go from there but if you need to grab copies i can hold off and we can do it when you get a copy :)

Karen Barber | 13297 comments siobhan wrote: "i was going to start with theres someone in your house this week and go from there but if you need to grab copies i can hold off and we can do it when you get a copy :)"

If I can get a copy of There's Someone in your house I'll join you all with this BR. It sounds like an interesting read.

message 35: by Elizabeth Emily (new)

Elizabeth Emily Browne (snakesandladderrs) | 2186 comments Karen- are any of the books I’ve said I’ll buddy read with you not out yet?

message 36: by Elizabeth Emily (new)

Elizabeth Emily Browne (snakesandladderrs) | 2186 comments Siobhan-
What about There’s someone in your house on the 1st
Queen of hearts on the 6th and the Raven boys on the 12th? I’m trying to keep at least two days between each buddy to try and stay on track.

Do the rest of the Raven Boys series work for this challenge? As we could make it a series thread :)

message 37: by Siobhan (new)

Siobhan Quinlan | 2096 comments sounds good :) i dont know if they work if they did that would be great

message 38: by Elizabeth Emily (new)

Elizabeth Emily Browne (snakesandladderrs) | 2186 comments Siobhan- do you want to request the threads or do you want me to do it?:)

message 39: by Karen (new)

Karen Barber | 13297 comments Elizabeth, most are ARCs so if that makes it awkward don’t worry (Natalie, does that make it awkward for you?) They both die at the end is out

message 40: by Elizabeth Emily (new)

Elizabeth Emily Browne (snakesandladderrs) | 2186 comments Are they on netgalley?

message 41: by Elizabeth Emily (new)

Elizabeth Emily Browne (snakesandladderrs) | 2186 comments I can’t get people like us or the exact opposite of okay but I’m fine to still do the other ones. Sorry I didn’t realise they were ARC’s :)

message 42: by Karen (new)

Karen Barber | 13297 comments Not a problem. There were a few people set to do them, so should be good. The points will count for those we do...

message 43: by Elizabeth Emily (new)

Elizabeth Emily Browne (snakesandladderrs) | 2186 comments So far I’ve got seven buddy reads and they’re all in the first two weeks of the month so I’ve still get plenty of time to fit more in😄

message 44: by Sydney (new)

Sydney (sydneyxo) | 148 comments I think I'm a little confused on how this works, like for the challenges, say I wanted to read the merciless for the challenge "pink on the cover" and then someone joins in?

message 45: by Karen (new)

Karen Barber | 13297 comments Hi Sydney. There’s a discussion thread called wanted:reading buddies. People in the group can agree to read books together and discuss as they read. These buddy reads get you double points for challenges so ver6 useful.
Check out the planned February buddy reads section. There might be books you want to read-and most people will set up stuff to link to challenges.

message 46: by Sydney (new)

Sydney (sydneyxo) | 148 comments okay i definitely understand now! so buddy reads dont have to be within this team?

message 47: by Sydney (new)

Sydney (sydneyxo) | 148 comments also these are the books ive chosen so far for the challenges..
By Your Side by Kasie West
The Merciless by Danielle Vega
Vicious (Villains, #1) by V.E. Schwab
Flame in the Mist (Flame in the Mist, #1) by Renee Ahdieh
Love & Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch
The Kiss of Deception (The Remnant Chronicles, #1) by Mary E. Pearson

Sounds good to me! When would be a good time for you for Eye of Minds? At the moment I just have the 2nd, 9th and 20th taken.

message 49: by Natalie (new)

Natalie (esaria) | 4273 comments Karen wrote: "Elizabeth, most are ARCs so if that makes it awkward don’t worry (Natalie, does that make it awkward for you?) They both die at the end is out"

I can definitely read They Both Die at the End (found it at my library, and on the library app for my phone - yay!) but whether or not I can read The Toymakers depends on if I can get it. I didn't realise it was an ARC XD;;

message 50: by Karen (new)

Karen Barber | 13297 comments Sydney, did you get the thread set up for There’s Someone in Your House?
