Yea... that audio thing was a new one for me... sometimes I have the annoying problem of audio rewinding or continuing when I pause... or the display hangs and won't continue past a certain point... my best solution there was to use an mp3 splitter, so that the book can't get more than 30 minutes out of sync, but it's not the greatest solution...

I even re-watched the ending dance routines from all the Step-Up movies... cause I saw the Youtube Red show just started... Step Up: High Water

OMG! This is my favorite TV show ever!!! I have gone to every concert of the SUTUCD every year!!! I have also season tickets to the ballet here, so this is what I LOVE to watch and do when I am not reading!!! I am very, very fat now, but I used to dance when I was young and it is still a passion to watch:)

I've never danced myself... my build is closer to that big guy from the first season... they never had such heavy contestants after that first season because he couldn't handle the routines as well, I think... I love to watch it tho... I binged like 5 seasons a few years ago... I watch best of clips on youtube every so often...

I have downloaded them all. The only one I didn't enjoy was the one with the kids... It is just not my thing. I am 500 pounds now so I haven't danced in years.. But I think it is beautiful!

I didn't like the idea of the kids either... from what I heard, they couldn't do the same level of moves the adults can... hadn't grown into their bodies yet...

And the emotion is not there. Just that imitation of joy or tenderness that kids try to do. You really have to have lived a bit to know what you are trying to portray...

Did you start this book already? I have been lazing about today so far... I will try to start later or just watch the Olympics today and read tomorrow 😀

I listened to a bit of music before... probably should have continued... I keep pausing the book because I'm playing Path of Exile... the league ends in 12 days and I'm trying to finish 36/40 challenges for the free cosmetic rewards... involves using general/trade chat to interact with people in game for help... interrupting my reading time... :)

Much easier to listen to books when I'm just killing monsters for money...

I saw some clips the other day of a dance deemed too dirty for the Olympics... told to tone it down in trials or something... legs wrapped around shoulder and head grab in the middle of a skating twirling move thing...

I finished Chaos Choreography... not much to say about this one...

Aeslin Mice are always fun... and I like the dance aspects... but I came in a bit annoyed at Verity because I know how much she's about the screw up Antimony's life...

Even as I like the final moments of the book pre-epilogue... great visual...

I try to read a short, fun read in between every long, heavy book:

Republic of Thieves, Spectacle, Deadhouse Gates, something, King Beyond the Gates, Hollow World, Last Mortal Bond, Magic for Nothing, Children of Time, Dead as a Doornail, Stone of Tears, something, Kushiel's Avatar... 4 hour reads also hide the fact the long books take 2-3 days :)

I started it, just never got to finish it... I love the mice! I wish I could see them do the cha-cha 😋🐭

I try to do the same with the books, but I had no fun break between that depressing long book and Deadhouse Gates... I was about to stop reading at all - this much death and children abuse and murder get to affect my mood in RL and I start getting depressed for real. The mice are making me feel a bit better... I don't need a book slump right now

I almost feel like I'm in a rating slump... I've read a couple books, of late, that I rated 2.5 stars... Last Mortal Bond only got 4 stars.... Deadhouse Gates got 5 grueling stars...

I hear ya on the subject matter leaking into RL... that's why I never continued with the Disillusionist series... a series about weaponized neuroses/depression SOUNDS cool... but it was very "leaky"...

The negative reviews I read, lately, are leaking into my Magic for Nothing re-read... I love the first 2 chapters... (view spoiler)[ the prologue and seeing Antimony in her Derby element... (hide spoiler)]

But from the moment the actual book starts, it's kind of stupid... (view spoiler)[the way they plan to have Antimony infiltrate a centuries-old monster hunting organization with the technical skills to out-do Artie in airport security manipulation... it's kind of redeemed later on (view spoiler)[when you find out that it didn't really work (hide spoiler)] (hide spoiler)]

I feel like McGuire painted herself into a corner with the book you are reading... I envisioned Antimony's books going in an entirely different direction...

I am almost done with the dance competition and snake cult. Will start with the next one right away, so I can keep you company... This way I don't have to think what to read after... I think following Antimony's book I will read the Sookie one. Just for sanity's sake:)

I use earbuds, but still... sometimes co-workers are like "what are you listening to?"

They usually latch on to the weird elements in something like The Butterfly Garden or Etiquette & Espionage

I know you are a fan of So You Think You Can Dance also and I thought this was the perfect book for us fans of that show. Loved all the little nods to the judges and choreographers. I really liked where Milena was saying she is doing the contemporary this week and V asked "Ooo, a cancer dance? " and we all knew exactly what she is talking about. They always have to be something tragic and dramatically emotional, and I laughed my ass off 😂😂😂
